I found times vary, up to 6.6 seconds. What is the actual value - seems 6 manual is 5.6s The search did not help "Your search for 0-60 returned no results."

it does vary... don't think a consensus was reached... I think the best reported time for the CVT was 6.2 seconds .. and 5.8 fo the manual... where did you se 5.6 for the manual at bruh?

thank you for giving me an idea

edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/insidel...23955 have the cvt at 6.4, car gurus list it in the 6 to mid 6 range depending on transmission http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/O....html, autofiends places the manual in the 5.9 seconds time trap http://www.autofiends.com/2009...e-6mt/, motor trend finds the manual in the 6.4s timeframe http://www.motortrend.com/road....html, top speed in the 5.8s manual http://www.topspeed.com/cars/n....html and cardomain lists the manuals in the 5.x-6.x range depending on transmission http://www.cardomain.com/MakeM...rward. i recall someone listing a 5.7 manual on here, but with so much information scattered all over the map ...

I've gotten a 5.9 in my CVT before...but that's probably a little off as it was self timed...

Bringing this thread back to life. I did two 800rpm launches today:

5.42 using combination of manual and CVT modes
6.2 in CVT mode

Both were timed by my passenger.

I didn't get a chance to do any manual mode only runs, or higher rpm launches.

I also don't have any performance parts; only coils, wheels, sway bar, tails, and borla axle back.

I will repeat the manual mode and cvt combo run on the drag strip soon to confirm.

EDIT: Using an app called UlysseSpeedometer, I clocked 0-60 in 5.95 using CVT only. And 1/4mi at 12.92. I'm not sure how accurate the 1/4mi reading is.

Car & Driver has the 2008 CVT at 5.8 seconds, not sure if that number has changed for later models. They usually get the best times compared to other magazines.

0-60 sounds normal in the 2nd one but that 1/4 mile is BS, lol.

with enough mods to a 2.5 cvt do you think my 0-60 time can get to 6.0 or around there

Definitely. A stock 2.5 coupe should be able to do 7.5 seconds. You can get down to 5 with a turbo at 4-5 psi, even if you have a CVT.

If you don't want a turbo, you can still hit 6. Just have to get rid of weight and let the engine breathe. Get some light-weight wheels, dump the spare and the rear seats. Then get a new intake, headers, wipe out the cat with a ypipe, midpipe and exhaust. That should get you down to 6 no problem.

I'm still testing out various ways of using the manual mode and CVT modes together in a single run. Once I have some real concrete numbers to back it up, I'll make a write-up.
