j-z wrote:tight, since your in daytona i will def hit you up. wheres the shop located at? i will be staying at a condo in new smyrna for the entire month of june and i could just drive up there. let me get these wheels first (im picking them up tomorrow) and see how much farther out i wanna go. how much will you charge me for all 4? and daniel, if you can read buddy you can see why i want spacers. i never really heard much talk about spacers, so therefore thats why im asking before i actually run them. makes sense dont it? ccsteve, i will definately hit you up within a week if you can give me a decent price. thanks

j-z wrote:yeah, my dad said when he was there yall were fixing to move out. my bolt pattern is 4x114.3 and i dont know how thick i want the spacers yet. im guessing 8 mm, but i will let you know for sure by or around this weekend. i went to yalls website and found the address to your new place. ill get back with your for sure. mind posting a phone number?

not to knock your product or anything
sandwhich type spacers just take up wheel stud thread length
so how is that like a wider wheel? having a wider wheel is having the bolt area machined with the proper offset in relation to the hub...having a sandwhich spacer is changing the offset of you rhub and subtracting stud length allowing for an improper lugnut seat
so how is it having a wider wheel again when all it does is "push" the wheel out??
http://www.wheelspacers.com will set you up with some nice bolt on ones that will never fail.

ccsteve wrote:Spacers aren't generally thick enough to take away enough threading to be a problem. Think about how little threading is used to hold those bolting spacers onto the hub. Also, we have longer studs available when needed, which are ARP and stronger than the stock ones. A set of spacers with longer studs is STILL cheaper than those threaded spacers. We use spacers when the stock forging doesn't have enough material to give the backspace required to clear brakes and fit on a certain application. There is a small number of applications that will require longer studs to give the right amount of thread, I stress how small that number is. Your recommendation introduces one more breakable part, extra weight, and an extra cost, and is solely based on the assumption that the 240 is one of the very few vehicles that can't run a spacer without a longer stud. Do you think every aftermarket wheel has the same lug seat depth? Do you think that lug seat depth happens to be the exact same as the stock wheel? Your losing/gaining available stud thread by changing out the wheels period.
j-z wrote:lol. right here dawg! yes, ill let you know before i even need them. i got the rims yesterday and i still have to get tires for them. its not like i need them right now, so its cool if it takes a few days to make. ill be in new smyrna for a whole month.
j-z wrote:LOL. ive been doing it off and on for quite a few years. i can ride decent, but i cant do anything too cool.
