The next gen has arrived.

The pictures really don't do it justice.

Infiniti has changed everything with this new model. Now I must sat that I have only seen them fresh off the truck. The car was still covered in protective tape and plastic covers but I was sold.

The scene today was a bit interesting. There was one point where the delivery truck driver said to the General Manager and myself that if we were to break it we bought it. In this situation I was tempted just slightly to damage it just hoping, he laughed and said that he had bought the trucks' worth of cars. Once it was freed from the trailer we all had an opportunity to explore. Everything on this car is new, every surface has a new feel, every switch is new. From a quick tour through the interior I am thoroughly impressed, but I am still waiting for the M56 w/ Tech.

The M37x now comes with Michelin Primacies, if that can give you all a sense of the change this car has taken. From RSAs to Primacies.

Why change the RSA's? There was never, ever a problem w/them. Was there?

I'm heading down to my dealership for an oil change this morning specifically to see the New M. Finally after 6 1/2 years of G35 ownership I have found a car to replace it.

Hi all,

The first batch of M's were delivered in NJ last Friday to several dealers. All seem to be the x wheel drive. I got to get down there and check it out the other day. I do not own an M, but interested in the new one.

I already own a car with all the bells and whistles that the M has, so nothing quite jumped out at me as "wow amazing new tech - gotta have it" If you've seen this type of tech before it will be nothing new.

It looks nice stock. Not as impressive in person as it is in the online infiniti website photos. It looks like a regular infiniti brand styled car. None of the cars ordered have the technology package, or spoilers, except for one m56x.

The tire gap between the wheel wells is pretty high on the x. The pictures online are probably showing the sport with 20s.

The stock wheels look a little dull, so changing them is probably something that has to be done. The NAV screen is very clear and bright. The XM also allows you to set favorite artists and notifies you when they are playing (not sure if this is present on the old M) it also announces verbally the weather alerts and traffic.

The car has a lot of potential if you add some of the fancy options, or your own aftermarket stuff.

I am interested in it, but nothing about it has particularly made me get that gotta have it now feeling. I am in a wait and see attitude unless I get a good deal.

I test drove it on the local roads and highway. The steering is very tight, and it feels like a solid car. It is a little bumpy, but the bumps are dulled or muted by the suspension. After all it is more of a sport sedan.

The interior is solid also. The cabin is quiet, and not a lot of road noise, but I did hear the tires. The michelins are pretty loud on the asphalt. All in all, it feels very well put together. The leather on the seats with the premium package is comfortable and does not look or feel cheap.

I noticed a slight vibration at 70 mph, but it wasn't that bad. I also experienced the rev matching for the first time, slowing down from 70 to 45-50 quickly, the trans bumped to a lower gear and the engine rev'd very high while I was still pressing the brake to slow down further. It felt strange, but I know this is characteristic of this transmission.

Curious to see others first impressions of this car?

Good write up. Thanks.

I can't understand why Infiniti cannot get the gap between the tire and the wheel well right, at least on the sport version.

Which Primacies are on the car? They make a few different styles.

I've been waiting for this for quit sometime now. Had the chance to test drive the new M 37 today.Front looks good, rear is no so hot, interior is okay. The drive is not bad. Over all, I was a bit dissapointed with the entire car. A well equipped M37 sport is in the high $50K range. The M65 S there was $64K. Okay car with not so okay price. This is coming from 2 M45 Sport.

Are you kidding???? The interior is beautiful, and the exterior is certainly more distinctive and interesting than the slab sided too tall for its width 06-10 M series!!!!!!! Lets not even talk about the 420 horsepower compared to the 325 in the older M45!!!!!! Or the 7 VS 5 speed transmission.... it is a huge upgrade all around- no doubt about it!

Just my opinion from pics and initial impressions, although I have yet to see the car in person - the rear styling lets the car down. It appears as if the rear styling is old Ford Taurus-like; like an Armadillo. Just too much downward slope for my tastes.

I know they are following the CLS's lead here (a car that I do like and seems to pull it off), but it just seems a bit too passive in the rear styling and (nicely) agressive in the front end.

Maybe that will change when I go and see it.

Stopped by the local dealer yesterday to see if there were any in and found one M37x on the lot. Similar to the G37 from front but just spotting it you can quickly tell it's not one. Might be different with other people but then again, BMW's look similar too so I guess that shouldn't matter.

Only got to look at the car but interior is gorgeous. Looks a bit smaller in the rear but didn't sit in it so can't really tell. Rear styling is ok imo but doesn't seem to work with the sporty styling of the front. it's almost like looking at two different cars.

overall it's a nice car and really like it. waiting to see an M56 on the lot and see how the sport models look and how different the M37 and M56 are.

i notice from the interior pics that the logo is back on the floor mats. i think that is a sign of the return to quality and not that cost cutting crap like on my 08.

I vote that you be banned from the forums for that one!!! jk

I dont "love" the side view of the new M but the front and rear facias and interior PLUS 420hp 7 speed transmission is a killer combo by any standards.

That makes no sense. Its such a general comparison that its like saying a corvette looks like a surfboard stuck in a coconut tree.

New here as I drove the M37AWD last weekend and liked it. I suppose looks are subjective but to me it has a much more sporty look than the M35. I currently drive a BMW SUV but have been in 5 series for weeks on end due to some quality issues with the SUV. I find the interor on par and a bit more stylish. There is a new BMW 5 series comming this June or July though.

The 330 hp engine was fine. I have a V8 in my current BMW so am use to power but at a price of 13 mpg around the city. I know they want sticker and nothing less. Then again they only had one car.

I will need to check out the wheel gap someone wrote about as I did not notice it. I am not a 20" wheel guy due to ride quality and we get a lot of rain here. I need to check into what this touring package is about but overall for a few grand less I think it is on par with the 535XI which will also have 330 hp in the 2011 model.

It also looks like there are not a lot of issues with the model or brand. I also drove a Lexus GS and it pretty much put me to sleep.

I have noticed the wheel gap too and it makes the 18s look cheap and the entire car less substantial. The 20s look great but I definitely don't want to go that route with a harder ride and expensive replacements. I need to look at the car on the road to make a final decision.

The M56 looks clean in silver. I'm sure the 20" wheels only give the car a taut driving feel and not harsh. I'd personally steer clear of the '11 model year and wait until the '12 so some of the kinks can be worked out.

I would normally tend to agree with the 1st year of any redesign as having issues...... but the 06 M35 was pretty much flawless. Maybe Infiniti will get it right the first time with very minor issues. After all, the drivetrain is the same as the G37.
