Hi,

I've got a question,

I'm french and I'd like to import these rims from USA : XXR 002 ET0 16"

Are these rims can be installed on my car without problems ?

(180SX RS13 with -30 rear & -45front springs)

Should I modify he body of the car ?

Hope you understand me...

Thanks,

Chris

those would fit without any body mods im pretty sure. i think they are 16x8 only. you might have to roll depending on your tire size and camber settings.

but are you sure you wanna go through the trouble of importing xxr wheels? maybe you dont know, but xxr is not a quality wheel brand, they dont have there own designs, they just copy the big name wheel companys for the most part.

Correction.

XXR is a quality wheel, just that it is not an original wheel company in that it does take its designs from other better well known companies. They are a great cost effective wheel and they look great. Good luck.

Thanks for these responses,

I'm interested by the 002 for the price (350$), and the look !

I think i'm in love

I can't modify my camber settings because i've no coilovers !

I'd like to install them on KYB AGX with S13 Tein springs, but I don't want to modify body settings, i've no roller fender

I hope that the rims can be install on the car...

Just a last question :

When the wheels are turned on the maximum right (or left), is the rims touch the plastic protection behind the wheels ? (between the wheels and the motor, i don't know how to say that in english )

Why ?

The tyre touch the body ?

What's the length of the springs ? -30 ? - 40 ? -60 ? on coilovers ?

you dont need any special tools to roll the fenders, you could use the pipe method, or my favorite, a heat gun (or hair dryer) and hammer. Just go slow as to not crack the paint.

i doubt that you'll have to do anything if your just on lowering springs. the et 0 wheel will stick out past the fender if you dont do anything to your camber or roll the fenders.

Uhmm I don't think 16x8 002's come in +15 offset ...

The 15's are the 501's.

You dont need any mods so long as you get 0 offsets. It will clear stock suspension easily, and shocks / lowering springs too.

I would order rims in a few months. I have time to choose. (002 ? 501? )

EDIT : I'm searching a front Xenon lip for my 180SX RS13 fastback, can you tell me where I can find it ? In France it's a very very rare part

I like your car. New wheels will look good too:It will take lots of clicking and searching but you can probably find a Xenon Lip in the last few pages of here somewhere:zer...ge=13

For reference, the 002 with 0 offset on S13 with just springs (Tanabe) and without any fender roll/pull. 225/50/16 tires.

They will stick out.

Like biggie has shown, the 002s will stick out. I'm guessing you are running a 225-50-R16 tire biggie? Same as me, and mine stuck out about the same and the rears would rub. That's the reason I went with fender flares but thinking back on it, I just should have gone with a fender roll and some smaller sized tires to give them a stretch to clear the fenders.(even though I'm not a fan of the stretched tire look).

Oh well. You live, learn, and then get Luvs.

That is mine, just the day I put the wheels on. The rear did hit my fenders (on any bumps in the road), I have now pulled the rear and front fenders. With smaller tires you wouldn't have a problem I don't think.

Also that is my convertible, its slightly heavier and therefore is a little lower on those springs than a 180sx/silvia would be for you.

After the rear fender pull and later I added about -1 degree camber as well:

Finally, I think I'm going to choose another setup :

XXR 962 >> 7x17 front 9x17 rear !

But I don't know if rear wheels touch my shocks (KYB AGX), or the rear body !

I've only seen XXR962 with coilover on Nicoclub...

Have you got pics of the 962 with KYB AGX shocks on S13 ?

I don't want to modify the body ( fender )

Thanks

17x7 up front is really narrow. If your heart is set on XXR's with easy fitment, I recommend 006's in 17x9+20 all around with 225/40/17's or 235/40/17's.

I know, but tyres are less expensive for 7x17

That's why I've chose this setup !

Do you think 9x17 ET35 rims can be installed without problems on S13 (rear)?

Your proposed setup of 17x7+(?) and 17x9+35 will fit just fine. It will also be very sunken and look like absolute feces.

If you want to save money on tire sizes, try these:-Get the 17x9+20 all around and strectch a 215/40 on up front. No problem.-Or get 17x9+20 all around with the same sized rubber so you can rotate your tires, thus saving you money while providing superior traction.
