No. It's the metal diaphragm 'holder' mounted to the dist. the arm of which goes inside the dist. and controls the vacuum advance.Meanwhile, I disass. and reassembled [cleaned/lubricated] the distributor, installed it and it won't start - even with the old/bad vac advance it ran before but not well. Rats!!
