New Shoes for the Q

Thanks to cash for clunkers I picked up this set of wheels and tires off late model q45. Will be putting the stock forged BBS wheels in the classifieds

What year did they come from... looks like an '02 or newer! I can't believe someone would CFC one that new unless it was a three time salvage rebuild or something. Great find for you though - congrats!

It was on off an 2001, somone may have upgraded it. It had a 135k and was pretty clean

Did you check wheel balance without tires? These early wheels were replaced by the hundreds due to out of spec bending [soft cast] , leaking, and vibration.

Spin them up without tires and make sure they show less than 5 grams imbalance outer and 10 grams inner imbalance..............on fine not coarse balancer setting.

Per wheels without weights and perfect tires with small weights make for a perfect ride unless you chose Goodyear or other lesser tires.

I havent gone through trouble of dismounting the tires. but there are no vibrations.

The tires are Yokohama Advan S4s and had a 20th week in 09 manufacturing date code. They still had the casting numbs and productions paint stripe
