do they have those all over japan, like in okinawa specifically?

i know there's a super autobacs over there but idk bout upgarage or w/e. When i was in okinawa i saw a lot of older jap cars running around like r32, 33's 34's and a lot of 180's/silvias so i'm pretty sure the aftermarket support for our cars over there in is pretty good...I never saw a brand new car, okinawa gets all the old cars that japan doesn't want anymore lol

there's def a lot of junkyards over there with r32 gts's and some GT-Rs

I will say when mom steering wheels are 65 dollars and brides seats are 150 i went in to up garage dropped a dime and loaded a container full once coilovers were like 350-400 each Ibought a 300zx TT HKS triple plate clutch with 85% life for 150 dollars. I was like a kid in the candy store at the up garage i also brought back with me that time a lot of H3C light bulbs they are all gone but on set

bride seats for 150 bucks makes me want to eat a bullet for what I just paid for mine...

UPGARAGE wins

So you're saying I can probaby bring back some $1500 tien coilovers for like $500 maybe $600.

All I need other than some body stylin stuff is some coilover/damper kit and nice set of rims (maybe gold or black and chrome) with a nice lip.

How about shipping on the coilovers? How much did that run? The price you was with shipping or just for coils? Does upgarage ship them for you or would I have to get them shipped on my own?

Thanks for your help guys

the only thing that sucks about shipping from Japan is the wait at customs....when I ordered my steering wheel, it sat at customs for 10 weeks before it was shipped out...

it was worth the wait though IMO

Damn 10 weeks...

Well I wanted to bring back some body styling stuff but it will be even bigger so coils are not too bad though heavier...

I'll make a little list when and when I'm there I'll see what I find... I'm thinking of a few things now but I will probably come back just a few.

well my personal stuff was quite a deal at hanadea airport and detriot airport customs
BTW they call a steering wheel a handle but i put the coilovers and other stuff in my check in luggage and flew back home. The steering wheels where in a back pack and customs kept looking at my back pack for some reason. It was the H3C super blue lights, a case of them was in there i forgot to check in so it but i showed the agent he said ok. but My translator who was from japan got a full cavity search and they found nothing cause he did not buy anything there but a computer and the TSA lady could not understand his english. It took 2 hours waiting for him to get through TSA and customs.

But you claimed it on your customs declaration paper that you had all that stuff with you or did you just leave off and claim some souveniers or stuff... Ifyou claimed it, did you pay any import taxes on it?

Everything for my self were industrial samples for testing uses
the container was declaired and customs charges were like 380 dollars or something like that pluss a 2500 dollar inspection fee for and off site inspection by a private company

So let me get this straight... You paid almost 3 thousand in fees to US Customs?

How much/many things did you import?

Will it cost more to ship or to just pack everything in a big suitcase and claim on the customs declaration?

I just want some coils and maybe a few little things for me and the other on here (typing on my phone so could see his name)

What's the container thing about? I don't think I'll need a container if shipping is not so big and heavy.

I'm flying back via tokyo narita to newark nj (ewr).

Any shipping/carrying tips would be helpful and appreciated

on the car they pretty fukked up tho. I remember seeing a blue r32 GT-R in the junkyard and the brakes looked pretty corroded to the point where i don't think they were salvageable f*** i wish i took pictures of the cars over there..I remember seeing a pretty beat gunmetal r32 gtr at mcdonalds in the back parking lot (probably the employee's lmao)

coilovers usually are painted and have some kind of corrosion-resistant coating on them so they would probably be fine

If you just have enought to fit in a extra suit case and claim it on the flight home they give you those customs papers it should be ok as long as it is less than 500 you calim then you pay taxes

ahh.. you scared me... i thought i would come home with a few items and BAMM! 1k-2k US Customs fee... i would DIE and tell the to sign me up for their payment plan.

Should i say they are for my car, for sale, or does it matter... off road use or not... i just want to make sure i have my story straight in case i need one...

where's upgarage located...?

the prices for new coils is about the same.. well a little less.. the first pic on this thread of upgarage shows coils for 1300 bucks...

used i guess will be the better route unless i'm packin more $

OKOK,,, good news so far.. i found an upgarage and just bought two things so far. a grabbed a new momo steering wheel and jdm 180sx tails with center piece.

I wasn`t able to get the *oh s**** handle. they said it:s a dealer part. they had a lot of s*** but nothing i would bring home... freakin recaro seats for under 200 each... nuts....
the small stuff like airfreshners were wack... they look like cologne bottles.. he didn:t have any key chains... and the only stickers he had was 2 big blue blitz...

EVERYTHING IS CHEAP.. this is import paradise.... in dash dvd players (sony, kenwood, panasonic) for under 200... name brand receivers (CD/MP3) for under 100... some were like 120... amps cheap... i took a video but i:ll have to upload it once i get home...

Yea im back now...

all i brought back was those two things... after my 8 hour unconfortable bus ride back from osaka on friday.. i didn't have any energy so i slept through the day and went to the bars at night...

but, my friend that lives there thinks we can try to get something going.... next time i go of course we can put money together and ship some parts over so that i can sell them. he doesn't know much about our import market. i guess until next year...

sorry bro i couldn't get to a nissan....
i took a video of upgarage so i'll post it when i get some time.

John
