your going to shell out for a greddy timing belt but run a volvo FMIC?

electric fans

use the stock mani, not the turdular(more money you could invest toward a good FMIC setup or even a tune)

make sure your harness is all set

do you have a good maf?

should have your injectors flow tested and cleaned

are the volvo fmics so horrible, i just like the set up and the fact that its not saying to everyone im turbo. I drive a vert and it seems more practical for it to not get stolen.

dont get me wrong. I drove with a 740 volvo FMIC for almost 2 years solid and was a great cheap alternative. fitment kinda sucked, but we made it work.

however, it seemed you were spending alot on things for a more hardcore build....... which a stock volvo intercooler really isnt great for.

Yea, ditch that manifold and keep the stocker. I wish I had. Spend that money on the motor and trans mounts or suspension or brakes.

i would rather just replace certain things while the engine is out rather then them messing up later down the road. Idk much about the intercooler set up but i read that it can handle 300hp and im not planning on making anything above that in the future. Thank you for your imput

-Steering rack bushings (suspension techniques makes em for the Z32 and they fit the 240sx and are a fraction the price of the "nismo" S-chassis ones)
-Main bearings for the crank
-Nismo roller pilot bushing
-Z32 throw out bearing
-New idle air control valve
-New vacuum lines (buy a spool on ebay cheap)
-New injector O rings
-New thermostat
-New O2 sensor
-New water temp sensor
-Boost and oil pressure gauge
-Nismo Fpr and inline liquid filled fuel pressure gauge for underhood
-New oil pickup (or check/clean current one)
-Magnetic oil drain plug

Volvo intercooler is fine if you do it right and dont jerry rig it. The shorter piping (less pressure drop) makes it okay in my book...just dont skimp on the silicone connectors and piping or it will look like a frankenstein junkyard setup.

Also have it pressure tested before you mount it.

Good luck!

alright so it looks like ill just keep the stock manifold and get nismo motor mounts, ive relpaced my steering rack bushings about a month ago with energy susp. Forgot to mention i planned on getting oil/water/boost gauge.

what other options are good for a fpr, for instance the megan racing one already has a gauge on it but do i need an adapter for my stock fpr?

didnt do a comp. yet, leak down was like 100 on 1 and 4, 102ish on 2 and 3. Also my camera died when i went to take picks but i pulled the wiring harness, tranny and exhaust manifold/turbo off today. Clutch was almost non existant and flywheel had a lot of burnt spots but its ok i wanted to do the sr clutch n flywheel anyways. Oh and the turbo had massive shaft play back n forth no biggy i have a sr t25 anyways.

There's a lot of oil spray all over the exhaust side of that block. Makes me worried. Good luck...

Yea, yours leaks from the same place mine does. It's like that square part of the cover doesn't seal and it leaks down.

I'm a SPEC fan, but be aware that the pedal pressure is very light, and the friction point is up near the top of the pedal travel.

If you learn how to drive it, you can shift faster than you would with a clutch with a normal friction point.

I would recomend pulling apart the exhaust side valve cover (there are like 6-8 screws) and sealing the 2 halves. Sounds like progress is coming along nicely.

Did you say gasket on the oil pan? Was it the cork one that comes with the felpro kit? If so, take it back off and ditch it. It'll leak. Use the end seals and a bead of RTV. Just about everything else leaks.

Ok, cool. I was just checking. I made the mistake of using the cork gasket that came with the felpro kit and it seeped oil. LOL, no prob.

I was thinking about getting the i-sis ones cuz they are black but is it really that helpful?

I cant really justify spending the money because i still need to get a clutch, starter, batter, intercooler piping and brake rotors to get my car on the road .

It's not impossible with the stock lines, it's just WAY easier with the flex lines.

float and T-M are giving you some good advice about the lines; with the motor out it is not to bad with the stock lines, but when you need to work on the turbo later. you will hate yourself for not getting the lines. trust me 30mins vs 2.5hrs
