And BTW, for all the big wheel opponents, I wonder if the Sport model will come with 21 or 22 inch wheels...

yup, beat me to it . A big G in a way. Whats up with the taillights? Looks like a big departure from the slant look we are all accustomed to, and the look displayed on the Essence...I do like it, but I need to see it first. Looking at giving my M to my parents, and interested in an S class Benz. But I have to admit, I will wait for the M56 or the Hybrid before making a move...

I've been waiting with extreme anticipation for this reveal. I'm blown away. I expected to be disappointed...this M is everything I hoped for. Absolutely beautiful...best looking Infiniti in the fleet right now. And M56? YES PLEASE. I was hoping for an M50...but the 5.6 is a whole nother level of awesome.

I wonder if it's a VK56VE or VK56DE?

The M56 is a worth successor to the M and Q lines. Well done, Infiniti. You've won back my loyalty.

I don't like the rounded trunk lid to be honest. That should have been left somewhat flat and have the option for a spoiler. The front looks unfortunately like I thought it would look like....the Maxima.... I don't like the new Maxima's design. The previous gen Maxima looked so much better IMO. Really, the only thing the new M has going for it in my eyes and mind is the 5.6L short block engine probably borrowed from the Titan. I would guess that the 5.6L engine is built better than the 4.5L engine. Oh well, it shouldn't have been a shock to me since the M tends to follow the designed look of the Maxima. We'll find out soon enough I guess.

agreed.

should keep the current model going another year, throw a 5.0 in it for 2011 and come back in 2012 on a GTR platform or at least a better design. this is infintis flagship at the moment and should be a little more thought out.

It definately looks good but looks a lot like a stretched out G...needs more distinctiveness....the interior is a great improvement and looks great.

I am not that impressed by the looks, but the 5.6L V8...that is another story. And better gas mileage than my M???

Umm...I think that's what the "S" stands for in the last picture....so I don't think you need to wonder any longer.

It does look like a big G in a lot of ways, but as with the 2nd gen M, it's a more "grown up" version of the look. The G is way overdone IMO, very flamboyant and "look at me" in it's design. The M takes the G's basic form, but gives it even nicer proportions while turning the smaller cues from "boy racer" to something more mature. The car looks aggressive and powerful while still managing to look stately and classy.

I like the haunch over the rear wheel arch and the fact that the fender flares and headlight shape is more muted compared to the G.I also like the fact that this car has unique tail lights rather than emulating the now-iconic G35 tails.

I do agree that the decklid could be more flat, though. I'd like to see the rear roofline transition into the deck more sharply, giving an actual rear deck rather than just a coupelike slope.

Can you say Mazda Millenia?

Not fond of the black grill either. But the interior rocks. Any way to put that interior in my '06? I had to ask...

I've always liked the Millenia's styling (particularly the earlier pre-sharpening models). Actually, I like the whole car. So the idea of a 5.6 liter V8 Millenia seems pretty awesome to me.

The body looks okay in the pictures. The interior looks incredible though. I'll have to see it in person before I can really say if I love it. Unfortunately, from the pictures, I don't like it $56k more than my '03 M45 so I won't be looking to buy one right after they come out.

The Essence on the other hand... I'd seriously consider that. It looks like nothing else on the road (probably because it's a concept car, but nonetheless).

Almost reminds me a little of the newest Corvette from the side, but without a plastic interior.

The Essence does look like something already on the road...... Can you say Nissan GT-R??? You have to use your imagination a little, but they are similar.
