Get alpine type R components. Bit on the pricey side but well worth the buck

so all your wiring is still in good condition? it might corrode etc, and if you flooded the interior did it get up to the headunit? im surprised it still works if it did.

i bet the interior must look like a POS now and it probably smells like you have a dead person in the trunk, but it even kills me to see my carpeting under the nissan mats is worn out, i want to replace the whole thing, but to get a template id probably have to rip it all out and cut the other carpet to the same thing.

accident my a$s, you knew that small lake was there.

Anyway, then next time I have to replace my speakers in the doors I'm going with marine grade speakers (like those that are used on boats) so that when I go through water again... and again and again, I won't have to worry about killing them, but at the same time I'm not so much concerned about the sound quality of my audio setup just the quantity. If its loud & I can feel it thats all I care about...

totally a great idea....

and while your at it why not get diamond plated flooring? that stuff looks awesome in my opinion...and you wont have creatures growing in your carpets!

Yeah I love that stuff... I've been thinking of lining my trunk with it, with maybe like a hinge arrangement so I could have pieces covering the backs of the back seats too. That way I fold the seats down and its one flat, solid sheet

Yeah it was a fresh water pond so the wires are in good shape. When i turn the bass up on the head unit (didn't get wet) the speakers blow donkey d!ck. The carpet is only merely damp now after long dry-out sessions. Where's the Shamwow guy when you need him??? I really like the diamond sheet metal idea, but i think the carpet works as a much needed sound dampener for the interior. I was thinkin about getting them professionally carpet cleaned if it starts to mold over... A couple of yall recommended the alpine type Rs so i will look into them. thanks!

When it comes to speakers I will always go component system and I always go with MbQ. Top notch speakers.

Guys you may wanna look at the marine speakers again. They are not designed for cars at all. Most are a free-air design and wont work in a closed car. Sound quality will suffer. Just my .02

If you've got it in your budget I always recommend JL Audio. Their top of the line 6.5"s go for about $750 a pair but they're worth every penny.

You won't be able to fit anything larger than 6.5 unless you're willing to do some fabricating. The rear door speakers are also 6.5.

JL sounds good at low volume as far as the subs go. I had 3 and blew all of them. The RMS levels are extremely low on them and quite frankly they are p**** speakers. I will not buy JL again, but thanks for the suggestion.
