My other build threads:Version 1 s13 build RIP | "The Mad Hatter" B13

Engine prep thread: zerothread?id=415733My first 240 thread (motor came from it): zerothread?id=301273

Basic stats: PROs:~Midnight blue paint ftw! Considering I always loved Srpowered240sx' car, I'm really diggin the paint!~SE hatch with all options available to the SE model asides from automatic trans. (correct me if I'm wrong, power locks windows and sunroof) I really love sunroofs for DD, if you need your wind whistling sunroof fixed just ask ~5spd trans~ka24E -doesn't run but I'm selling it and the trans. Not sure of the condition on the trans~Very little rust for a PA car, frame rails are solid oe steel.~Sale includes a rustless dentless wiperless hatch!$500.00 sale price +taxes, $76.00 title transferfer fee because it's from PA not NJ, and its within 20min from my house, ease of transport/tow. (costs less to buy a car in the same state as previous registry)Stock exhaust(selling scrap metal)Eibach Pro kit with tokico struts to keep me sane until I install the PoweredByMax coilover suspension.Mileage exempt title = swapping in my cluster with the engine mileage.

CONs:~KA24E motor to begin with, and I'll have to relocate the battery (not a real big problem as I have done this before) -Must re-locate power steering lines on the KA24E engine 240sx's.~Blue interior, I might like it so its not a con, but I might eventually install my black interior I saved from my old car. Eventually if I get a coupe maybe the blue interior will go in that. ~190k miles, I've take heat from Jeff on this, but its going to be my daily driver and i can fix things that would decrease frame rigidity. Being a rustless and dentless frame help rigidity also.~Paint looks better in the rain, rear and front bumper need a recoat.

PICS:

The only dent: Just affects the fender I've looked it over, headlight frame and rad support are untouched. No big deal I can fix that.

Only thing I'll use in here is the air filter, for when I sell the sentra lol.The timing is off, shouldn't take me long to get it running and hear what we have to deal with because it might have rod knock.

Pretty much it, came w a b&m t bar shifter knob which i dislike the look, but love the feel. Still, it has to go and Keegan has dibs yo.

I hope to join the PSU drift squad because of the paint, and because this car is kinda a graduation/acceptance present to myself, graduating from HACC, finishing the ME-T at psu Hburg.

I'll leave it at that, have at it, this is MY NEW(old) CAR lol.

Yeah thats good too, but I'm ditching this motor. Didn't fix up the SR for nothing .

I hope to have it fully functional by NICO carlisle may10th. Doesn't have to look pretty but I want to run again.

Looks like a start! Are you trying to have the SR in & running by may 10th? or fixing the KAE? Either way good luck!

Lose the teardrops asap though...they make me cry

I like the project name, but that's probably because I go to Penn State out in University Park. I love it out here. Haha, I'm interested in seeing what you do with it.

Man you guys are taking the PSU thing to the max, I shouldn't have even said anything about it lol. My parents both went to Pitt, and when I graduated highschool, I didn't even give psu a chance lol. Went straight to VT then hacc and now back to BA degree at Psu so yeah. If it takes me more than a year it wouldn't be hard to hit up uni park, it's just not for me right now, Hburg is easier to transfer into also because my advisors have connections, so I had no trouble getting everything xferred.

Enough about my schooling haha. Yes the wipers are hideous LOL, at least they match the yellow electrical tape .

I'm looking for a small FMIC (front mount inter-cooler) at the moment, hit me up email style.I just love the paint color and have to keep it this wayyyyy.

I have less than a month til carlisle. Classes, finals, graduation bs working and now a 240sx. Going to be one crazy month, but I can't wait!

Thanks for the love nico, seriously aside from the cars and all the joy they bring, this forum is full of non trolls. I approve haha. This emo moment brought to you by me watching garden state w/ the fam... :/

I'll be running my old wheels if they are all straight and true, if not I'll get some new ones.Mainly I'm going with PBMax coilovers and the subframe risers they have. I'm constantly impressed on their level of actual engineering on such an old chassis; inspiring. The SR20det engine is going in pronto. The only thing the KA24E is used for if it runs well is an inspection/emissions before the swap.Envision my old car but blue and slammed. I think that's what we'll end up with for awhile.

Hey man, I don't have my car up with me, since I'm only a freshman. I probably won't bring my car up until junior year, when I get an apartment...the drift squad looks awesome though. Maybe by then, I'll have coilovers and a 5 speed swap. Haha.

Indeed it is 91silviaKs, the CS bushing. Positron's build thread has a really nice writeup on how to install it FYI.

Tonight some allergies were busting up my head today so I was just chilling after school. Not to mention our physics teacher thought today would be a great day to catch up on some lost lecture time by sacrificing a lab. Needless to say I've had 3.5 hrs of physics 2 today, adding to the head trauma lawl.

Front main seal time. Got the pulley puller from PBY, and I plan on returning it a day later lol, and I will because I'm done w/ it.

Just a quick note for ppl, use the 10mm wrench with the shorter side to c*** out the seal. It fits so perfectly not a single scratch on the crank or timing cover.

I don't have a nice press or whatever, so I used the old seal and my trusty plastic Mr. nice guy hammer to hit it in. Going around to make sure one side doesn't go in too much farther than another at one time. It is even recommended on the felpro box that you apply a thin coat of grease to the contact surfaces. I already knew this so I did preemptively .

That's all I got done tonight other than prepping and sanding the crank pulley. Tomorrow I'll definitely paint it, and finish up the rear seal, also I would like to paint the trans and bolt the clutch on. After I complete those minor tasks, we'll be ready to drop 'er in!Thursday the shell comes home. Hope the 'rents like it ...

Silver. I have too much silver enamel paint lying around from what I thought would be moped projects lol...Won't be too pretty or flashy, but it'll be clean and probably 'real' aluminum looking, not this fancy shiney stuff.Same color as the moped fenders if you've seen em.

Finished up the oil seals today, and finishing touches on hoses.when replacing the rear main seal, use red loctite and take the damn studs out to pull the housing. WC thanks for the on call phone tech support! When you reinstall, use some bolts instead, will make your life so much easier next time.I used a tad much RTV sealer, but no big deal. Clean it really well before resealing, you don't want this leaking all over your clutch!

Just showing how to clean the pulley-side seal area. I wetsanded with 2000 grit paper. There was rust on the outermost seal edge and rubber tracks on the inner seal edge. White lithium grease the contact area after drying and you're ready to install.Mostly everything back together! Torqued the crank bolt to 115 ftlbs, torqued the flywheel bolts to 108 ftlbs, and the clutch plate bolts to 48 ftlbs.Sry no pics of my humdrum stock oem JDM clutch lol.

Shell location has changed, as a death in the family has heightened the emotions of the rents, so I'll unveil it at a later date.

Do you have to remove those bolts & the cover around the rear main seal? Or can you just get a screwdriver in there and drive it out?

I can't say thanks enough man. I tried and i got it timed correctly now (the dizzy was off lolz), but the battery i brought only held 9v and was dead, the sentra battery didn't help either.I'm charging a bigger battery so maybe tomorrow I can get it running, make it easier to move it.

To answer driftboy07's question yes you have to remove the 4 10mm bolts around the cover to pull the cover out. I don't reccomend trying to change it w/o doing this because you'll surely scratch your crank.

It's a project lol. I see oem parts everywhere that I want to remove lol!The only thing I want for carlisle is the SR in with a black gloss engine bay, and the Helical Limited Slip Differential!

Existing tires are good enough to get me inspected woot.
