Can i use a standard RB25 head (S1 or S2) with the guts from my neo head and still retain the VTS, use all sensors, and have the R34 Power FC still work?

Im having a realllly difficult time locating a neo head and found a regular R33 RB25 head for $500. I already purchased Tomei pon cams for the Neo, and have a greddy intake mani for the neo. i dont want to have to sell these.

any help would be great. thanks!!-John

you might be able to use a normal r33 head but with the solid valvetrain of the neo i am not sure...it would be good if you could get a head and compare.you'd ideally have to use a series 2 head as it runs the same coils as the neo where a series 1 head will require the use of older coils and an ignitor.i'd be willing to bet that you could use your neo head stuff in a series 2 head with little issues...sucks to hear the head is cracked tho apparently the machine shop that did the head originally effed it up beyond belief.

Valves are different lengths& widths, head cc is different. Probably take a ton of machine work to get it to work.

I've got a complete neo head sitting here that I was going to use on my non- neo bottom end until I found out the combustion chamber cc's were different. If you used a non-neo head, your CR would turn out to be like 8:1 or something stupid low like that. Likewise, mine would wind up being like 10:1. So any who, we can work something out if your interested.

Oh know, you arnt having much luck with this thing. Hope you got your headgasket okay.

Cjmartz2k hopefully has what you need!

dft is right, you can convert the clutch over to push type. That is what I'd personally do, since the pull type has very limited aftermarket clutch options. Most of them are big $$.

I still can't believe that s*** man, really sucks.

Anybody know how hard it would be to mate up a 26 head? I mean, if it doesn't cost substantially more than your alternatives and given it is essentially a 26 bottem end; provided the sensors and such go together that would be something to consider.

You'll have to get a new EX manifold though for a 26 head since the studs are a different pattern I believe. OR, cut your new aftermarket exh manifold at the flange and weld up a new one?

Also, I guessing the ports for the Intake side are the same or close to the Neo 6's. I'm just speculating though...

Here's the pics. BTW, it's 55 lbs plus the box and all I've got for a box is a microwave box which is about 2 1/2'x 2' x 1 1/2' . I need to get it wrapped up and take it to the post office before I can give you a shipping price--the USPS website said $120 for parcel post and parcel post is SLOW for here. I need to see how much for priority which usually takes 7-10 days. That's more than I thought.

That head looks really clean. Where did the head crack at? was it not weldable?

I think he said around the spark plugs? Strange place if you ask me. Maybe it overheated? Anyways, my cat seems to like this head. He's got a black nose now from sniffing the bowls

Looks great. Why are some of the valves white though?

If you could find out about the shipping that would be great. The faster shipping would be a better option for me.

Just let me know whenever you find out. Thanks a lot!!-John

The valves are supposed to be like that. It's an indicator of air/fuel which was spot on for this motor evidently. Like I said on the phone, it's off an unmodified n/a motor. Also for anybody else wondering, the n/a heads are the same except for cams (including valve springs). I'll go over to base in about an hour with the measurements and weight and ask. I've got PT at 2:30pm and should be home by around 4 (2qm your time). Do you want me to call you or just post up here and let you answer when you wake up?

They said around $100 at 55 lbs. , but they couldn't say for sure with out it there to weigh. I just packed the piss out of it with a bunch of news paper and $15 worth of pillows and bubble wrap.

Call it $320 shipped priority, sound good? If so, it's already wrapped up and labeled and can go out about 15 hours from now when they open back up The paypal email addy is the triad.rr.com one (I don't want to put the whole thing up here and get anymore spam )

I can track down more heads if you guys want them bad enough. It's not that hard to find them over here and unlike a lot of Rb stuff, it's actaully light tnough to ship USPS.

Nope. Those are even more rare over here than in the states. I think it's an aussie thing only, and most of the Japanese are more into dropping retarded amounts of money on HKS/Jun/Tomei stroker kits than going "low brow" with an RB30

Got it and I'll see if they can give me a tracking number in a few hours when I send it out. Some of the stuff from the military post office is a little different than back home. Either way, I'll let you know when it's on it's way.

Yea I know the rb30 is rare outside of NZ and Aussie land but I was just hoping maybe you'd have one :P

Sweet. Hey there this one other piece i need from the neo transmission pressure plate if you know of any way to get it. Its the wedge collar that clips on the middle of the pressure plate and holds on to the release bearing. I may have to just get a whole new pressure plate but im having a hard time finding one!

I just ordered one on ebay for an FD RX7 and im hoping it will work. Ill let you know though.

That would be a tough one, but I'll keep my eyes open. Is it a stock Nissan part? If so, can you just get the number off FAST and order it from Nissan?
