I got a freind that would trade Rota Grids for my sportmax 501's.

Now, What wheel would you go with?

Both same amount of tires, Both in great condition. I think they are both nock offs, and both look good. Just dont know what one looks better.

I would just save more money to get something a little better.

If not, get the 501s.

Offset on both?

I'd keep the 501's, they look better IMO.

501's are my favorite XXR wheel. Keep the 501's.

Hah, I almost posted your car on this thread, but I knew you'd jump in and do it anyway.

Yeah, I prefer the sportmaxes too but I think they only look decent with lower-profile tires. A slight stretch like Teddy has goes far too.

Btw, which Grids are you talking about? There are two styles iirc, one is called "off road" I think. FlatBlackIan on here has them on his s14. They're totally the opposite look of the 501's though.

there are also the 18x9.5 +12(ish) grids that rota had on special order. those looked like super knockoff te's. probably weighed a ton too, still looked nice.

what color are the 501's and grids? that could make a difference. tire sizes?

I think i'm the only one who likes grids better. Lol, I have 501's on my car but I'd trade in a heartbeat.

weird my 501s are over 3yrs old and never snapped. even hit a curb at about 35 and only got a tiny scuff. also lots of track like abuse. My fnor1c on the other hand broke in half at 25 with one of those circle looking curbs.Show me these horror stories of the 501s snapping. Teddy is the only person Iv heard break one and iirc he crashed. dont be dumb like taking speed bumps at 90mph or try to take out curbs and youll be fine.

there is no way that it just randomly snapped. improper balancing it must of had a brick in the tire. im telling you there had to be something leading up to the wheel snapping. show me some documented proof or its just he said she said bum scoop.

well after searching for a while all I could come up with was this.http://images.search.yahoo.com...rp7r7looks like a lot of rotas but no sportmax or xxr. weird. and all of those dont look like they randomly self destructed. honestly if there was such a big problem with 501s "snapping" I doubt they would still be selling them, legally.

I vote Rota's or you can be a baller and save up for a set $5000 track wheels that spends most it's time on public roads.

Umm, yeah. I hit a curb going 50mph when that happened, so... I'd pretty much expect them to break.

exactly. honestly what would you guys want your rims to do. my 501s weight is 42lbs for all 4 of them, they have a decent offsett, good width, stylish, and CHEAP. if they do break I pay 89 dollars for one rim.

rims will break, but not without a reason.
