Hey everyone! Just joined. Just your everyday type of guy, into drifting, cars, music, singing, karaoke, pool, bowling and so on. I was born with (cp) aka cerebral palsy in the legs, and had a knee replacement due to cancer back when I was 17,(cancer free going on 13yrs this Dec 20th), but I still drive, walk, shoot hoops, swim, whatever with little or no help. Although I can't drive a stick because of my knee. Hearing impaired but wear a hearing aid, sign language is not required but I do know some..though I'm a little rusty on it. I'm on here to hopefully make some new friends, maybe run into some I already know. I had a 97 honda prelude I had fixed up..but last dec I got rear ended by a semi truck and slammed into a wall..totaled the car. So though I miss it, I'm happy to upgrade to a 240! LOL! Hopefully I can learn more about things I can, need or maybe want to do to the car. I'm awaiting my vg30dett motor to arrive so I can swap my motor next weekend. So I'm excited about that..can't wait to get back on the road and drive again! So hit me up....any locals?

Are you planning on putting that VG30 into a 240?

Wasn't sure if I could post pics in this area of the site or not. I've had the car for a few months now. I have the stock motor but blew the head twice. Well the head gasket anyway. Got tired of it and haven't driven in a few months, so I decided to do the swap anyway. Also decided to do the vg swap cause I hear more people that have done SR swaps so I wanted to do something different.

Post all the pictures you want. As for being different, go for it. I think there is a lot of potential in the VG30, my only gripe would be room. Even in the Z32, the engine bay is cramped, and Im one of those guys who is constantly tinkering.

Yeah I know what you mean. I was originally looking for a VG30DET but couldn't find one anywhere near here. A friend finally found one in Oregon but I had already bought the twin turbo. I may just convert it to a single anyway. Anyone got any tips for for me? I would add some pics but having trouble with my laptop. So I'll try again later.

The best advice I can give anyone swapping a motor into anything. Do things right the first time. When you have to pull the motor in a year because you didnt properly route the heater core hose, and it tore, you'll be kicking yourself for weeks.

Also, installing a used motor without doing the maintenance is a bad idea. Replace everything, water pump, timing belt, all gaskets, all tough to reach hoses and lines. I would also suggest doing the oil pan gaskets. Having an oil leak, that requires pulling the motor to fix, sucks.

Hey welcome to the site. Pretty nice place. I've gotten lots of good advice here. Your swap sounds interesting. I'll be stuck with my little KA for a while longer and have a very slow build going but interested in every one elses builds. I'll actually be in Jax from Dec 9-15th. Got to go to Mayo for a liver checkup(two years after transplant). There are several other people on here actually in the Jacksonville area so you might be able to get help with the swap. These cars are fun to own. Mine is down right now with a starter problem but plan on driving it to Jax probably. If you see a red hatch with a faded black decklid give me a wave!

very clean car man, I havent seen many silver ones on this site. What are your plans other than the swap. Oh and if I were you Id definately go single turbo. Everything you can do with 2 turbos can more than likely be done more efficiently and cheaper with 1. not to mention saving a little room.

I was thinking the same thing, question is what all is involved in making it a single turbo instead cause for now I am working on a very limited budget.
