Solo project from lead singer of As I lay Dying. All songs are about Arnold schwarzenegger movies, totally hilarous and great songs on the album Total brutal.

+1 for August burns red, saw them 2 times live and they rock so hard, new album is comming soon.

+1 for 3 inches of blood.

+1 for Protest the hero, very good live.

Never heard of them, but they are pretty sick. That solo towards the middle was pretty awesome. Love the album art, looks like something out of Final Fantasy X

I'm with you on that one, they switched lead singers after that album. Why do so many good bands do this, why can't band members just get along?

While I do agree that their Bless the Martyr album was their best, Oh God, The Aftermath was good. Redeemer had it's moments. Their new one, The Anti-Mother is almost a like a completely different band. I still appreciate a couple songs but it's not like their old stuff.

Well here's some bands I listen to very often:
Opeth
Kataklysm
The Black Dahlia Murder
Nevermore
Dream Theater
As I Lay Dying
OLD Arch Enemy
At The Gates
Bloodbath
Bathory
Emperor
Burzum
Dimmu Borgir
Children Of Bodom
Dark Tranquility
Eternity Void
God Forbid (My friend's cousin is in this band so I have to listen to them)
HORSE the Band
OLD In Flames
Into Eternity
3
Katatonia
Nonexist
Russian Circles
TOOL
Vehemence

Yeah... I loves t3h metal. \m/ (>.<) \m/
I've been listening to a lot of 3 lately after seeing them at Progressive Nation tour with Opeth, Dream Theater, and BTBAM. Check them out sometime if you like progresssive metal. They put on a MEAN live show but their CD's are so underwhelming compared to live... its sad.

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnt9GxE-bxA Word, there's a link for 3 live at Prog Nation.

I gave Escape The Fate a try about a year ago, a friend burnt me their first album. Didn't really get into them, sounded too generic. Can't say anything about their newest album. Is it any good? Any songs you recommend?

It's not that you're getting old.

Check out some modern power metal bands. I'm not really into the genre, but I only hear good things about Sonata Arctica.

Here are a few songs by them:

Sonata Arctica- Paid In Full

Sonata Arctica- Victoria's Secrete

I'm into Sonata Arctica big time. Their debut album was voted best metal album back in 2000. I've been following them ever since. I've found that their live performance is kinda weak though. Sound is not that tight and vocal is not strong just like in the albums.

Jani definitely needs more recognition.

Screamo is basically emo-ish bands that scream. So In Flames is not screamo, and Pantera is definitely not even close (Anselmo's voice is much more of a shout anyway). There are many genres that incorporate screaming.

He's a great drummer but he seems like a douche in interviews. I like drummers who can do lots with a 4 piece.

This isn't a Mike Portnoy kit. It's a Terry Bozzio kit. Just FYI.

I just typed big drum kit on Google and that's one of the first ones that came out. Not much of a fan of big drum kits or Mike Portnoy.
