from what i was told and what i was able to find out u have that option of using either a z33 or z32 na clutch. the diff being the size, the z33 clutch is 250mm and the z32 is 240mm and stock being well 225mm. that and price, the z32 cost me $145 while the z33 runs $275. what i found strange was the when i matched up the clutch to the flywheel for a dry fit, the clutch covered up the whole friction surface. i just did a quick search and it seems like the rb20 clutch is also 240mm which would explain y it fit so perfectly. someone please correct me if im wrong. now this may only be true w/ the fidanza flywheel cuz i know ams has a 250mm setup for sale for the ka and i believe that uses the z33 clutch. it might also be true only w/ the fidanza since that has a set friction area, an oem rb flywheel might allow u to run the larger z33 clutch. more info is needed in this regard. to be honest i went w/ the fidanza only cuz i ran across it one day on ebay and jumped on it, i originally planned to go w/ a jgy rb flywheel. also the clutch sizes in inches are as followska = 8 7/8z32na = 9 7/16z33 = 9 7/8

Im really interested in this kind of setup, but I'd like to know how it performs when compared to an aftermarket clutch/flywheel combo, like the the one I have (Exedy stage 1 racing + Fidanza 11lbs flywheel) and how much power it is capable of holding... Any ideas or more input?
ive only ran a stock clutch before this and beat it to beyond slipping so i really dont have anything to compare it too. the biggest things that drew me to it from reading about it was that it retained stock feel over aftermarket upgrade pressure plates (basically the clutch pedal is firm but very drivable, near stock), ive heard that it has great holding in the higher hp numbers (although i dont know any exact figures), and a price u cant beat. if ur really going for big numbers though i dont think theres anything stopping u for going w/ an upgraded z32 na clutch. i hear the spec stage III+ is pretty kick ***.

u know something, i really wish i could think of more details to add but everything went on so easy that aside from telling people how to buy the stuff idk what else i could do lol. although i should add that i had the help of a professional mechanic and a friend who i had just helped do the clutch on his sr two weeks before doing mine, but all that aside everything just bolted right on. it was surprisingly simple w/o any hiccups, aside from me not ordering the three extra bolts from nissan. i think i got very lucky. if theres any info u think i should include that might help please let me know.on a sad note, i have no more pictures. we were rushing through it so i didnt really have time to take more pix, all the ones i took were included w/ the first post.
Riubens wrote:do you need a rb20 flywheel for this to work ??cause i have a fidanza for the ka and was thinking about this set up.
as far as i know u can use either the d21 or the rb flywheel. from the looks of it the main points are the six bolts hooking it up to the engine and that the pressure plate goes on w/ 9 bolts instead of the 6 that hook it up in the stock ka flywheel. so i dont think a ka flywheel will work w/ a different (hybrid) pressure plate clutch combo.
martins_240sx wrote:I did something similar to this for my ka-t. but I used the d21 flywheel and the 1983 300zx clutch kit. cost me just over 200 bucks and so far its held up to 430 hp with no slippage.
whats the weight of the d21 fw compared to stock? and did u have any issues w/ the dust cover on the trans? i read that the d21 was pretty heavy which is y i shyed away from it.
i figured once im boosted ill know how much power my setup can handle once it starts slipping... then its time to upgrade. please correct me if im wrong w/ anything that ive posted so far.
