So since October of 2007 I have been working in Ridgecrest CA testing new helicopters for the Marine Corps at Naval Weapons Base China Lake. Which means that every weekend I make the 3.5 hour commute back to San Diego to see my family only to turn around and drive back for the week. Well last Wednesday was my last day there (thank god) and instead of taking the 395 South to the 15 South I decided to take the 14 South and hit the 2 which runs through the Angeles Forest Hwy.

Let me say that Hwy 2 is the most technical canyon road I have EVER driven and I was pulling the entire pass in mostly 3rd gear while doing some times almost triple the posted speed limit. I def put the Z32 brakes through there paces.

So without further ado, here are the pics. Sorry for the SH*TTY quality but these were taken with my cell.

I say this in all honesty, you have one of the most beautiful zenkis ever. I've thought so since the first time I saw pictures of it. The navan kit has always been my favorite, and you pull it off well. Most people would say the scratches and scuffs detract from the cars appearance, though I disagree, they show the car gets driven, and why build a nice car if you cant/wont drive it. Thank you for not following the norm, if I wasn't so busy dumping all my money into suspension/engine stuff, my car would probably look an awful lot like yours.

Well done sir, well done, and don't let anyone tell you different.

Thanks for all the comments guys! Yes I have been comtemplating the S14 SR swap or actually trying to find the money for it. Cuz when I do it I'm going all the way up front, no ghetto rig and zip ties.

However my 199,000 mile KA is holding up well (P/P head, JWT Cams & ECU, Hotshot Header, 3" Apexi N1 w/test pipe, and Injen CAI) still makes for a pretty fun drive. But I have rencently noticed that under intial acceleration I get a few small plumes of blue smoke out the ol tail pipe is telling me that I may be swapping to an SR sooner than I planned.

ddgsxr504,

awesome zenki. I envy you and your zenki's ride height too lol.

btw, is it legal to have a Japanese plate in the front with the rear license being our state license? Just curious. Not too sure about our cali laws nowadays.

If you are registered in California then yes it is illegal to run Japanese plates or any vanity plate other than Cali plates on the front.

Fortunately, and no offense to anyone, I am not from this f*cked up state. Meaning my car is registered in Mississippi where there are no smog, window tint restrictions, or any other sort of stringent auto laws. Also my state only requires one plate, (they only give you one when you register)on the back of the car.

I dunno, I'm from the coast. My house is less than a mile from the beach. As far as KKK goes those are mostly in the upper cities around Jackson I think.
