I'm about to go about taking the dash out of my 240, thought I'd just see if there is any tips/things I should be aware of before start.

Just take the whole center console out first. Have fun and be patient. First time I did it, took me nearly 2 hours. I can have my dash out in under 30 minutes now. BUT, I have no HVAC, ducting, or half the bolts holding it in. I'm actually pulling mine tomorrow to repaint it.

Go slow and don't be forceful when pulling it out, that's one way cracked dashes happen. I find it's easier to take mine out when I drop the steering column and remove the e-brake handle.

Yeah drop the steering column that helps a lot. If you have to, remove the two bolts at the bottom of the steering column. They are above the brake pedal if that makes sense

yeah, either drop the steering column, or go borrow a steering wheel/hub puller for free from autozone or another parts places that rents out tools. Take the steering wheel off and it makes the job much easier.

just take out all the bolts and drop the column. there;s no need to take the steering wheel off. ive done it many many times. tug gently and be sure to pull the ac ducts apart so your not tugging on the dash too hard, ive noticed some are harder to get off than others.

After 1 hour and plenty of motivation I got everything ready to come out. All that is left is just the whole grabbing on to it and lifting it up and out...

first this happened(yes that is a cowprint glove box hehe)

Then this mess followed

Shortly followed by SUCESS!

Ha, everyones tips really made the process go that much quicker, and decided I got the rescourses to pull the wheel so hey why not.

Thanks for the helpful tips.

good job. everyones scared of getting there dash cherry popped. its pretty ****ing simple, its all just "nuts and bolts". you pretty much only need a screwdriver and maybe a 10mm. just gotta use some common sense.

You probably noticed a yellow cord for the airbag ecu. Where are those located, I took the main box off the back seets then saw i had to bust into my dash.

Hahahah sooooo true. I lost a lot of bolts holding my dash in and it took me almost 2 hours as well the first time. Just be patient. Also to get the speedo bezel and speedo off I had to unbolt the 2 bolts holding the steering column up and push it down a bit. Also the aforementioned 3 bolts in the vents on the dash, don't overtighten them. It'll crack your dash.
