Well I am the third owner of a 1993 red 240sx Vert w/ 42k miles on it.

Car History:My dad bought it from a foreign convertable collector. When he acquired it, it had 9k miles on it. This is my dads 4th vert, funny thing is he didn't know anything about the whole 240 crazy, he just liked the car. I bought it from my dad with 40k miles on it for 5.5k. No rust, no door dings, perfect interior, Never seen snow, garage kept.

Plans:Well I am tempted to either KA-T or SR it. I dunno yet. My first goal is to get rid of the automatic transmission. I am looking everywhere for the swap parts. After that I am going to tackle the suspension. Stance coilovers and parts to make everything else adjustable.

More pics to come.

I'd have a hard time doing anything to a 42k mile MINT condition 'vert. I think I'd toss it in the garage and drive it once a month.

I'd get another one for the 5 spd, KA-T, etc... I bet you could find one with a blown engine or trans for $1500 or less.

Do what you like of course, and don't take this as anything but a compliment, but I sure would like to see you keep that one stock and clean like it is.

*also, please add it to the convertible registry!

Yup! Sounds like a plan to me. Better be untouched. I hope you see that.

Wow! Great looking ride! I'd keep it just the way it is. Maybe do the 5-speed swap but that would be all. Very nice!

Actually... it's a pretty rare car. Nissan made a total of 8320 convertibles from 92-94. Yours is probably one of the lowest mileage examples left in the US. We've seen a few others pop up with less miles, but not many. Perhaps we've seen 10 total with 50k miles or less in the past few years.

Nice looking Vert... I would also have a hard time chopping it up.. unless of course the water pump goes and makes a real racket and then you'd have to replace the motor..lol... (it worked for me). Nice to see a clean example of a unmolested Vert though... good luck with it..

Going to a pick-n-pull is your best bet. Though you might have to drive to MN for that since there is no civilization in IA.

If this is the same car that was posted on 240sxforums(i'm 240sxaddict).

I still stand firmly on my opinion that cars are made to be driven. Collect and store paintings if want to perserve something. I love seeing super rare historic ferrari's have an outing on a track. That's what the car was made for, regardless of the rarity or cleanliness.

Modify and enjoy, keep it clean looking(shouldnt everybody?). Put some fun miles on it.

(My brothers vert was very clean, and we cut huge holes for front fender tubs. Now it's looking even cleaner...)

It is the same vert, I posted there first since my school blocks nicoclub for violence and drugs? go figure!

im going to enjoy me car, like the people on 240sxforums told me. But then again I love the stock look of the car, nissan did a great job on the lines of the car.

Nobody is saying don't drive it, they are saying don't ruin it. There are plenty of shells out there for people that want to extensively mod their verts.

Theres no junkyards around here. I pretty much need everything, i am tempted to buy the $500 swap package off srswap.com but that would still leave me needing a transmission clutch and flywheel and crossmember. Ohh also a MT brake pedal. I wanna keep all the parrts I pull off of it.

And modifying it doesnt scare me that it will destroy the valu of the car, it bluebooks for 1/2 of what I paid for it. The sad thing, I dont even have a slight hint of feeling ripped off.

Wow, really? What the hell are all the verts doing up there? Although most of them are your dad's so I don't think that really counts. Also, Blue Book has no idea what these cars are. Nada.com is much more reliable and puts your car at a bit over 5k.

Do what you want to it. No one here is going to stop you.

If anyone really cared THAT much, they'd knock on your door and write you a check.

Sure, we'd all love to see a pristine example stay pristine. However, steel rusts, paint fades, rubber rots, and wires fray. Enjoy it while you can.
