What's the required temp for the powdercoat to melt and "plastisize"?
You could weld up a steel box large enough to put whatever you want in it. Then just keep a wood, gas, or coal fire going under it for heat Alot cheaper then using the oven
The problem is space. My friend was kind enough to let have some space in his garage to powder coat. I in return pay the difference in his electric bill and whenever he wants something painted I dont charge him.
Also another problem is I dont have the equipment to effectivly strip larger items. I strip everything by hand by using chemical strippers, acetone, and a fine wire brush wheel. I bought a blast cabinet to speed up the process but I broke the gun and havent gotten around to fixing it.
Also I like doing small things as I get to spend more time on it to make sure you guys get a great product and if I mess up wont take long to fix
In order to properly cure powdercoating, the part has to reach a temp of 370-400 and stay there for about 20mins depending on the size of the item.
