At least you still have a place to work on the car. When my parents wanted my shlt out of the driveway, I had to sell everything for super cheap.

Hey Matt, I was wondering where would you purchase dry ice? and how did you use it to remove the black sealed cardboard stuff that is on the floor boards when you stripped it? I tryed to get it off but its stuck on there pretty good. Thanks-Ryan

You can get dry ice and most places that sell ice. Go to google maps punch in your address then under find business type in dry ice or call some beer distributors in your area and see if they carry it if not ask them who does they'll probably know.

Or you can pass by a Pharmecy (can't spell) and ask for some.
They get atleast one package of meds sent to them a day covered in dry ice.
Then they throw it out...

Take it off their hands, I am sure they won't mind

i got the dry ice from a mom n pop type of fuel/ice place.

so i got the car moved into my new work area last night. huge thanks to carlos (StricNyne) and my buddy jeff for helping me out. i did end up getting a 6x12 open trailer from uhaul and the car fit in there like perfectly. i forgot to take pics though. we managed to load it, transport, and unload it without any problems thankfully, i just wish i had some more straps to use. now i just have to move my welder and a bunch of other crap in there and i'll start getting some stuff done.

AND, i am done with the chassis sandblasting w00t!
so my car is rust free now, well as much as i can help it anyways. still have to do some small spots on the fenders, doors, random brackets. but other than that, all that's really left is welding up all the patches and some painting

here are some action shots of me doing some sandblasting yesterday before we made the move:

the rear hubs themselves weren't bad, they were $101 each. the bearings with the lip though were $204.42 each
the price for the bearings w/o the lip was $90.34 each. big friggin difference. i should have just got those and searched for a pair of the thicker e-brake anchor pins (more info on that stuff can be found here).
oh well, the way i see it is that i won't have to buy new bearings for like another 10 or so years if that. so fcuk it

I need to rebuild my entire front end (rad support, etc.). Its still driving thank God but just needs a cosmetic fix, not to mention my hood and the latch dont line up, not safe. When i get the money i'm goin to fix it right just as you are. thanks for being a great inspiration.

Its funny because Trench started a thread while spending months and months trying to become "rust free" and you plan on doing it by next week?

I hope the previous owner gave you a 1yr head start

i guess that did sound kind of rediculous

ive been working on my rust for a long time and the final step is getting the frame and part of the floorpan patched. My car is coming back from the motorsports shop next week all patched up

i didnt have as much rust as matt, but he inspired me to get all of mine fixed. his resto however is much more meticulous than mine.

Keep up the amazing work man
this is the best 240 restoration ive ever seen
