Found this existing thread. Wondering if it will be similar for the coupe?

I was looking under my car this morning and I don't see an existing wiring harness!

I have my stock fogs and the new stalk. Just can't see if there is an existing harness.

Yes, the harness is there. I found it last week while doing my HID's. It's located on the inside of the bumper toward the outside wheel well side of the bumper. It's tied up.

It looks like this:

Pins on the bumper? If so, they are very easy to remove. All you have to do is use a flathead and pry them up. From there, you just pull kind of hard and they'll come out.

Take pics throughout the entire process if you can. It'll help other members who want to do the same thing.

Yes, do take pictures. Have you decided on the fog lights you're going to install?

Well I just took off my passenger front wheel, removed some splash guards, but found no fog light wiring harness. Got it all put back together and I'm a little disappointed.

Why is there a fog light fuse, but no harness? My dad and I spent about an hour looking for it! Nothing!

I guess this means the wiring for the blinkers won't be there either, huh? Damn!

I wonder if there is a difference between the 2.5 and 3.5. I have the 3.5 and as you can see above, it's there and doing well. From the inside of the well, you have to kind of reach around to the front end of the bumper. It is tied up against the inside of the body. But who knows, maybe the 2.5 doesn't have it. That really doesn't make sense though

If you look at the pic above, did you check in that area in relation to the fog cut-outs? The harness sits about the same level as the fogs, but tied onto the inside.

Maybe the 2.5 isn't wired for fog lights after all.

Yeah--couldn't see it anywhere. I might try again in a few days. Hopefully someone with a 2.5 will provide some information.

I did find my oil filter....man thats in a sh**ty location. Gotta take the wheel and guard off every time I change my oil.

Thanks for the help though! Please keep the info coming as I would very much like to get this done before it gets too cold to work in the garage.

Recap: I'm trying to install factory fog lights with a new factory stalk. I can't seem to locate the wiring harness. After two attempts to locate it, I'm beginning to doubt its there. (I own a 2.5 convenience pkg)

Would the wiring be the same for the coupe and sedan? Do they have the same switch and everything?

GenericIn that photo you provided, is that the right side of the car? If so, how did you get that shot, shouldn't the washer fluid tank be in your way?

Yup, that's the passenger side. Nope, the tank wasn't in the way at all. Funny you ask that because intially when installing the HID's, I removed the tank from the inside of the engine bay because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to do all the extra work. I couldn't get to my lights through the bay though, so I ended up going through the well.

I'm pretty sure they would be, couldn't see why not. Or maybe Nissan just took a short cut to save money and didn't wire the 08's? Mine is an 07.

Yea, don't forget guys. Eric has the sedan. The coupe may have some differences in this department.

Would really suck for someone looking to install aftermarket lights if the coupe isn't wired the same way as the sedan. If Nissan did choose the less expensive route, it's only going to create more hassle because additionally wiring needs to be done.

Fogs are optional on the 2.5 but standard on the 3.5 (per specs). I would assume there is at least a plug somewhere for the fogs on a 2.5. Someone just has to find them and show others

I posted a pic of the passenger side harness, now here's the wiring harness on the driver's side. They're there, you just have to really stick your head in and look around. I'm still pretty sure the 2.5 would be prewired also, I can't imagine why they wouldn't be?

Generic, let's not forget that mikemart has a 2.5S... it's very likely that the base models wiring is setup differently than those with premium package!!! just a thought!

But should the wiring be there for all models; then they can assemble a premium pkg vehicle by simply adding the fog lights and different stalk? That is el pregunta grande!

Has anyone out there tried this yet? I can't be the first to attempt to install stock fogs on a 2.5S w/o Prem PKG?

Its been a few weeks since I asked the service dept anything. I had previously asked them about the wiring for mirrors and fog lights. The guy told me he didn't know and wouldn't know until they got in there and looked around. Which means they would charge me for labor that I can do myself.I'll keep searching online and tomorrow I'll try the service dept again. I'm doing an in depth search one more time on Friday. Weather pending. Even closed garages get cold in Wyoming.

I've been cheating on my NICO friends....spying another Altima forum. From what I read, some say that the 3.5S is prewired regardless of package; the 2.5S is not.

Looks like aftermarket fogs with messy wiring is in my future!

Cheating on us? Shame on you

Sorry to hear about your non-wired Altima. Oh well, you live and you learn. Just to be sure though, If I were you, I'd check one last time. The harnesses on my car are tucked in pretty deep.

I agree - from a mass-production standpoint, I can't see why they wouldn't layout the wiring the same for all versions. The harnesses gotta be in there somewhere.

Would it help to find them if you pulled off the front bumper cover?

Yeah--I plan to do one more search on this weekend. The weather is getting worse around here; not to mention the fact that it gets dark at 4:30!! Stupid Wyoming weather and stupid tilt of the earth!!

I'd like to get to Nissan's service department and ask a few questions, but my work schedule this week doesn't allow for it.

I was in the same boat as Mike, with the foglights and all, but after installing the HID's, I really see no point in them at all. The HID's light up the world, and thensome!

So any luck yet? Seems like a lot of work for those fogs mang. I'll just install the HID's and call it a day. Good thing I found the post on here about installing the HID's through the wheel well.

D-Roll, was the directions and pics easy enough to follow? I was looking at the post again, and thought that I didn't take enough pics along the way. It was a rush job because of the rain, but I may go back in next weekend to clean up my wiring and drill the ballast brackets into my frame just to have it secured. Just wondering if I needed to take any more pics beside the passenger mounting point? Of course, weather permitting that is.
