i think you should just look for a cleaner shell and swap over the parts.

Aslong as the frame isn't all rusted out, looks like a great start for a project. Good luck.

- Front and Rear Engina main seals- Brake Pads (with Shims), New Rotors, Rebuild or replace calipers if necessary. Flush brake fluid.- Flush Transmission fluid and replace filter.- Change engine oil and use no cheap filter( FRAM) but good ones.- Put the car on lift and inspect for rust. Remove any rust ASAP with drill gun and wire wheel. Paint with primer and cover with Rubberized Under coat.- Replace Shocks and struts. Fill Strut mounts with grease to prevent rust. Even if there is a cover.- Replace Tie-rod outer ends and check for worn boots on the inner end.- Replace thermostat.- Pull off the vavle cover, remove timing chain guide before it falls off and wreck the engine. Replace the timing chain tenshioner.- Replace the valve cover gasket.- Replace Spark plugs with NGK ONLY. No BOSCH.- Replace Air filter.

You're good.

Absolutely not true. I spent well over $3,000 on my car all in all and I can take on any other $3,000 h0m0 Ricer Civic with wings for performance, reliablility and control.

The list I just did will cost only $1,000 or so. There is no need to pay for a mechanic, all you need is a place, 4 jack stands, floor jack and a rental engine hoist.

Just don't damage your car by jacking at the wrong place.

Good luck fixing everything. Reminds me of my old hatch, it was the same color. The color is pretty rare only available in 93.

I also have a driverside door the same color in good shape if you are intrested in it.

Also nice Cobra parked next to you.

I recommend working on the car all at once as much as possible. You can save a lot of time and money that way.

example. You can rent an engine hoist and lift the engine to replace front and rear main seals to stop oil leak (or prevent if not yet leaking oil). You can replace thermostat, valve cover gasket, upper timing chain tensioner, and oil pan gasket, power steering feeding hose, coolent tube, motor mounts at the same time. All those part may not be bad right now but your car already has 175k on it. They will fail soon and if you replace them one at a time the labor or time will be more than the parts themselves.

Decent, she needs lots of love. Hope you didn't pay more than $750 for it with all those dents and cosmetic problems. The interior needs DR. Vroom-Chirp as well.

Good luck with it. At least you picked up a 240sx. I hope you will try to work on the things it needs done before what you want to do to it. Be smart and have fun with it. Saving beat up hatches

Okay brother Here is what I like:1. I like to see more brothers doing the damn thing with s13's2. Don't feel like you got beat out on the ride no matter what! it can get fixed.3. Take care of major stuff first in this order: Rust, Suspension, Brakes & rims , Powerplant choice, Interior and then body. The reason I love the silvia is that a lot of the brothers don't know about this car and when I take her in hood to get a hair cut I always get WTF! is that! I love the remarks like " dat sh(t looks like a old school bmw" ( I just bust up), Then when I tell them how much it costs, they look at there cars (Dodges, Hondas, Chevys and suv's with rims) and go Damn!, I could have had one those instead of this? Hell I got two brothers right now looking for Coupes and the onwer of the shop just got a 91'RX7 just to show me up! Anyways I like seeing more African americans doing the damn thing with the s13. Peace, and LONG LIVE NISSAN! P.S. don't get chrome rims before shocks and springs! Fight the urge! I did !
