I've been having clutch problems for a while, and decided to try to eliminate the dampener. Could anyone that has done this tell me how they made the hardline adapter, or show me a picture of their setup. Where can you get the right fittings to make the adapter? Does anyone make an adapter for this? Any help would be appreciated.

you can just buy a SS clutch line and bypass the damper on installation, cost like $20

you shouldn't have to make/buy anything to bypass it.

You just bend the clutch hardline that was going going into the damp box about 180degrees to meet up with the line coming off the slave cylinder. Viola bypassed the box damp. system.

removal definitely makes bleeding the clutch system easier. Some people say the pedal feels a little better.

Thanks for everyone's help. I rebent the hardline to fit directly into the stainless line. everything hooked up good, I'm just waiting on a new crush washer for the line/slave cylinder connection. I tried one from advance auto, which had too big a hole in it. I think maybe when the car got hot, it may have been leaking air. I'll let you know how it works as soon as I try it.

Update: When I changed my mast. cyl., slave cyl., and line, I bought a copper crush washer(universal ) from advance auto. When I eliminated my clutch dampener, I bought a new nissan crush washer(between line, and slave). Turns out the nissan washer has a smaller inside hole than the universal one. I think this was my problem all along. When it heated up , it expanded and let air in the line. The pedal feel is 100% better without the dampener, and it isn't much harder to push in at all. I would recommend for anyone with a s-14 to get rid of their dampener. Took 2 minutes to bleed also. When you buy your stainless line from SPL, get a speed bleeder with it. Just crack the bleeder half a turn, fill the reservoir, pump it a couple times, tighten bleeder, top off the res., and your done. Hope this helps someone else with the same problems I had. Thanks for everyone's advice.

I just bought a craftsman one last fall, and the second time I used it ,it blew a seal . My 79 280zx uses the same master and slave cyl. and never had any dampener. Must be for women drivers or something.

I took out my damper and bent the line 180' using multi-pint bends. Feels so much better and responsive. Damper is just wrong and evil. Just dump it.
