Well i finally pulled the trigger after getting the ok from the parents and the grandmother. At first I would never thinking of actually being in such a position but a decision had to be made................

And of course what went in what use to be the 240's old spot.................

Purdy isn't she? Well the Goat is alotta car i must say and it keeps me very very happy. Weird though how she is gonna be the DD while the 240 turns into the sunday car. Now i know some of you might say why not a Z or G35? Well i couldnt afford a g35 and i am not going to be the one to get one of the newly shaped ones with the first run bugs. As for the Z, it only has 2 seatbelts.................not to mention that the price of an enthusiast and my goat were the same.............and of course the 100hp and 100ft/lb difference engine wise. They are having some ridiculous deals for this car but color choices are slim these days as they stopped making em so what's left is left. I still don't know how this car didn't receive more attention but i guess poor marketing really has a big effect. Nonetheless, i welcome any comments or opinions (whether positive or negative).

I'm assuming that's one of the newer LS2 ones? I'm quite envious.(How much do the new ones weigh?)

no the 240 is a family heir loom and it resides in the other garage, it just no longer sleeps on the carpet. the goat has taken new residence on the carpet lol. i will say though that its weird how the goat might just end up getting better mpg than the 240 lol.

Nice. Throw a 2004 hood on it and it's perfect.I think a big part of the poor reception of the new Goat was the fairly low early power numbers. By the time the car got the LS2, the damage was already done.

yup it's an 06 with the lovely LS2 that lurks within.........it's amazing how the bolt on's to this engine make so much power. as for the scoopless hood, well i actually don't mind the scoops as you can actually remove the backing behind them to let in cool air..................of course i'd only due that if i was FI and had the filter mounted in the engine bay.

thanks for the compliments though. it was a tough decision to make as there isn't many new rwd coupes that fit the bill these days that aren't priced out of my wallet range.

oh and to answer the previous question, the curb weight on this machine is only a mere 3800 pounds lol. yes it's not light but its got the power to make those pounds keep up with the traffic lol.

yea there is ALOT of torque. only a bit more than the 240 (maybe like 20-30 ft/lb) but it makes moves. Yea i wasn't really a big fan of the v8 sound but something about the sound of this car makes you smile lol.

Very nice! Ive always heard they are a blast to drive, and I love the fact that Pontiac didn't try and go retro with it, they just made a modern muscle car.

GTO > G35

Good Choice! The interior quality is surprisingly good, isn't it? I thought it was a *very* solid-feeling car.

Anyone seen that Pontiac is "for certain" bringing over a rebadged V8 RWD Holden Commodore? Possibly as early as February......

This beast:

(Yes, there's a 6MT also)

Yep. I hope they don't call it the G8, though. What a stupid name for a great car.

Noice car.

Very good choice in my opinion since it's cheaper and doesn't attract as much attention as the Vette on the road but you still get a great V8.

And if they rename the Commodore the G8 everyone will be referring to them as gates so hopefully they don't do that.

well the goats are going for dirt cheap these days as they are on 06 and the calendar says 07. the lowest i've seen is 23,999 plus tax, tag, etc. that dealership with that price only had 2 tho left and i had already gotten my goat.

me personally, i got the goat for 26,900 plus tag, tax, etc. i think it was a fair price seeing as how the msrp is 33K and there was only one other dealership with the color i wanted and in manual. there are some other nice deals like that one i mentioned but for the most part, the bargain hunters are paying what i paid so im all smiles. plus i went into the dealership demanding 26,500 so to only go up by 400 is fine with me.

Absolutely beautiful. I've always had a thing for that car. I love them I think they are one of the better looking newer cars on the road today Nice find, indeed.

as for the commodore, it is GREAT to hear that they will be bringing it over. HSV and Holden make some really nice vehicles. the GTO itself for some of you that don't know is based off of the monaro.............not sure what a monaro is?

so yes, that car has the same engine and body as the goat. the exterior is more amazing than the goat tho but i still like the goat's looks.

i will say that the interior on this thing is by far the best gm interior to grace anything with four wheels from them. and as for the subtle looks, i absolutely love the low key look that it gives off. im one of those people that are trying to NOT make a statement. i tried to do that with the 240 but even that attracts alot of attention. hopefully not too many people will find out about it (besides avid car enthusiasts) but it does what i want. thanks for the compliments fellas
