Pretty rare; price seems appropriate? Maybe a tad high...but I'm no expert.

Yes 300ZX's verts are pretty rare...they are all non-turbo I believe. I have only seen 1 in real life. There's a guy on cardomain.com that has one. He uses it for the drag strip. It's got an RB26DETT.Just search 300zx convertible and it should show up. It's red.

As for that price...it is a tad bit high...$8,000-10,000 would be an appropriate price range IMO.

IIRC I think they were produced from 93-96.

Man I would love to get my hands on one of those...most that are being sold nowadays have very low mileage...alot in the 50k-80k range. People will spike up the price due to rarity.

it may not be quite half a dozen, but there's a red one, a couple white ones, and a black one (which happens to reside in the apartments next to my friend). And I think we have a few who may not be local, but they're in the neighbouring counties. For some reason Roanoke is a Z car haven. It's also that way for convertible 240SXes. We have a dozen or so in town.

They aren't as rare as the 3000GT vert...i've only seen pics of em on the computer.

Original hardtop vert? What car are you talking about?

Oh yea here is the 300ZX vert currently getting an RB26DETT put into it. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2293599ht ... efault.asp

The 3k GT vert is one of the first cars to have a retracting hard top. The trend started with the 1994 I think.

I've seen two of them in my time. One in my hometown, and one at a car show. They're awesome, I'd loooooove to own one. I *believe* they're all VR4's too.

I had no idea those other two existed. Pretty neat though, I always thought the technology was pretty new. (late 90's.)

I remember reading about the Skyliner when I was a little kid and wondering why there weren't more modern cars with folding hardtops.

According to Jerry....

Price is very fair. They were all non-turbo. Not rare, but quite unusual to see.

+1

Anyway, we've got a ton of Z32 verts running around here, and that price isn't anything special.

If I could find a nice Z32 'vert for like $5k, I'd probably jump on it for resale. At the moment however, I'm occupied with yet another Kouki S14

Not around here which sucks. I think there are 3 that I know of, none of which you ever really see. Prices of Z32's in my area have been high for years. Never fell off for clean TT's or verts. Just like anywhere you can find beat high mile NA's for cheap though.

We have at least one of the Z32 verts around me in NE Philly, never knew they existed until I saw it last week, as far as the 3K GT...I actually sat in one way back in 95 in the dealership, they're 3000GT VR4 Spyders, they are hella hard to find but if you do a search for Mitsubishi Spyders you'll find em.

I dunno man, I see at least 2 a day. A red one all the time. Imo I think the verts are ugly, takes away from the classic lines of a Z32.

I would get one if I had money "just because." It looks very good with the top down, not very attractive with the top up...but then again I would hardly ever have it up so it wouldn't matter.

I also wonder if that guy with the Z vert whos putting in the RB26 has ever seen this website or heard of it...

Oh yea...on that website I gave the link to earlier...a guy has a 1051hp 300ZX vert...here's the link:http://www.z32power.com/691092...t.asp

The guys on there are serious about their Z32's...

All the members on that website have Z32 300zx's with 600hp or more...nothing less than that.
