Post

Just wanted to let you guys know that my Q is being featured in the "rearview" section of MPH Magazine for the April issue.

The photoshoot was fun... though, I was there FOREVER while they did the photos. The article is pretty good and they mention NICO and Q45.org... they even quote Wes!

Anyway... they sent me an advance copy last week. So, I scanned it.

Here are the links.

Thanks to Wes, as usual, who hooked me up with the doods from MPH.

Nice little article. Too bad they didn't understand the front suspension is also a multilink. And I would bet there were no wool interiors in US cars.

Maybe I will post my G50 pictures at Q45.org since NICO won't upload them correctly.

That is WAY to cool.

Some of my pre-launch articles from 1989 said wool would be an option. Of course, that didnt happen.

I wonder if that article is what is driving the price of G50's up around my neck of the woods. I havent seen one less than 4k in the last few searches!

Nice Artcle BTW

Awesome, maybe I can sell one of my 1995's for close to book value now. I wonder what the circulation is on this mag?

Not much I am afraid. Apparently they are a pretty new magazine. They are owned by a large media company who are going to back them until they are start making money.

When I was at their offices (this is using the term "offices" just as loosely as I can) they gave me about 6 issues to look at. I would say they are the car magazine equivelant of Maxim Magazine. Has the same sort of attitude, humor, and near nudity.

Not for the owners, I hope! Oh, the cost of keeping a Q running well.

I offered to give them a few beefcake shots... but, sadly, they turned me down.

The do have a lovely young lady in their "Backseat Betty" section in the same issue as mine. Sadly, the distance between my car and her lovely self couldn't be farther.

Very cool!

I sort of chuckled when I read the Q prices sidebar.Edmunds actually lists the Q45a as worth more money?Obviously they've never owned one.

Nice to see this. Not sure I want to give them a credit card number for a free sample, though.

I also noticed the NICO sticker on your car on the last page. Way to go!

I made the images clickable previews in the first post.

Interesting how they list some production numbers ... now to see if that can help me build my case for Ohio Collectors plates .

Production numbers from MPH magazine, source: Infiniti North America:

1990 ... 23,9601991 ... 14,6221992 ... 12,2161993 ... 12,3091994 ... 11,4191995 ... 78031996 ... 5896

Actually Sales numbers, not production.

I'm startled. I really didn't realize there were so few sold near the end of the series. I own one of of less than 6000 sold. Huh.

Oh, and congrats, ceningolmo! I envy your last purchase. That was a good one.

I wonder if those are MY sales, or if they are sales in the actual year... For instance, a lot of 94Q45 would be sold in 1993 and so forth.....

If so, you'd think the 95 numbers would be closer to the 94s, but there was a 31% drop, instead.

It's still nice to have some numbers, though. I've looked all over for them.

basically, what im thinking is that the sales for 1994 Q45s could actually be larger than ones from the 1990, because the 93 Q only lasted from like 8-92 to 02-93, then 94 production started in 02-93...

with that being said, the greater part of 1993 and 1994 were selling 1994 Q45s... 1995 Q45 started in 07-94...

No, I still think they're Model Year.

What you're saying is that the severe drop would have been for the 96 model and the intro of the Y33.

Could be, but I'm betting they wouldn't cite records on that basis. They'd track the number of models sold to dealers, not when they shipped them.
