Oil Pump / Collar Destruction

Recently i had sold my RB25DET. The motor had made in the high 500 hp range. I sold the motor after i had a oil pump failure. The guy (Matt) who had bought my motor sent me a picture. Thought i would share it.Can you say snap ?

Dam... I think RB's should come down in price because of this. It seams like you should replace your oil pump and drive collar on any RB motor that is not an R34 or R33 GTR. That means a teardown and crank removal.

Here is an idea. If someone would make an oil pump that had the drive extented onto the crank more then you would have a bolt on solution.

how freakin hard are you people pushing the motors? stock or in these instances are the hp ratings over 300hp?

The motor this oil pump came out ogf was making 560-580ish.

that isnt really possible. if you look at the crank, the notched area which drives the pump is just too short, and the rest of the snout is rounded and smooth. there is nothing for an extended oil pump to grab. only real solution is to mod the crank
