trying to get a write up of this conversion and ive finally taken some time to give some info and here are the questions i got from some1 who is interested in doing it...

I am very interested in doing this conversion. Still need a bit more info before I decide to take on this project though. First off, thank you for telling me not to get the R33 parts, that would have been a big waste. So what R33 parts are required? Is the bumper an R33 style bumper for a zenki s14 and did it have to be modified at all, same with the rear bumper, aftermarket s14 bumper need to be modified? i tried to not modify bumpers. the vis fron bumper came with a 240sx built in grill that had to be shaved off. that's the only modifcation to the kit.

Did you only buy the headlights, grille and tail lights? that's all i used

What modification was required to be done to the fenders? Did more have to be cut out for the headlights, was there a bunch of fibre glassing involved as well, and did the fenders have to be widened at all? just cut the shaped and a mount off near the corner. no fiberglass at all. no widening. all cutting I assume that the hood needed to be cut to fit the lights, did the width of the hood remain the same? the hood was cut and the part of the hood over the headlights on the inside was hit with a hammer to flatten out

Did you have to remove the front rebar or did you keep it and was any shaving of the bumper/rebar necessary? rebar? I would also need to know if it would clear the intercooler, shouldn't be a problem though from looking at the pics on your site. my intercooler fits? How big are the holes that you had to cut out of the main support? I'm assuming you kept the s14 support? big enough to have the bulb access areas fit through and deep enough I figured that it would have to be cut up a bit. What did you use for spacers to raise the hood latch?scrap sheet metal. now that i think about it. i may not have changed the height of the hood latch

What mounting parts are you talking about shaving off the r33 headlights? top near corner lense

Also what type of custom brackets did you use for the headlights? old intake mounts bended them and drilled holes to make room for screws

How is the bumper held on? by the headlights and fenders or? bumpers are installed with direct bolt up. wanted it to look as "stock" looking as possible

Pictures would help a lot. Thanks again for all your help, and hopefully if we get this going we can do a good write up with pics.

it would be pretty freaking awesome. your car looks almost exactly like the r33 i sat in this morning, same color and all.

You should get some GT-R rims, or rims that are the same style set as GT-R rimsI do prefer R32 GT-R rims...

by the way, if anyone is in the area and wants help doing this(front only!)... i do want to try on a 95-96 to see how the hood lines up. i used a 97 hood and want to use a carbon fiber hood on my car and not sure which would line up better to customize the r33 lights. ill do it for cheap as long as you provide the materials and parts..

yup, thats right. they use a key. i bought some at pep boys, the quality sucked. you can find them on ebay(i switched to the ebay ones). about $30. i love them but a little weird to install on a 240, but they are the best ive used so far. plus, no one can pop the hood unless you have a key.

at least its been done now. when i did this conversion, i had no pics, no info, nothing. just an imagination and studying measurements of a r33 and s14. i wont give away my location on the internet, but let me know where you are and i can come to you... maybe...

I might convert in the future. For now, I have to upgraded the breaks and rebuild my engine. My car is 1997 240sx. I love the R33 look esp. the front. I hope the conversion fits perfectly and water won't get inside the engine bay. Please post more frontal pictures in other angles.

sp33dg33k, please buy a Zenki S14 if you would like to do this conversion... If you're serious, selling your Kouki and then buying a Zenki would probably make up the difference you would spend on this conversion... Nothing personal but Kouki's are a dying breed...

hey notice my hood? yeah my car is a 97 too. i like the lines, looks more authentic skyline even though the lines are pretty different. by the way, no r33 parts will bolt on to a s14. read the top...

The lines are the same from the fender and behind for zenki to kouki S14's, Having a zenki converted to an R33 will yield the same results.

Please stop the murder of koukis.

I havent seen an R33 front on a S13, but I have seen the R32 variety, and it wouldnt look too bad if done right.

i still feel the lines on my hood add to the conversion, but thats just my opinion. and yeah, the fenders, back will have the same results.

let me know how that goes... i just got rid of my front end because it seemed i would have to extend the whole front end of the car. good luck with that. by the way have you started yet? i ripped my whole 240 front end off and looked at the fenders and hood setup... didnt like that either cause the skyline has about a 6" wider wheel base and the fenders dont flow close like the r32 fenders into the s13 doors.
