Hey all, i was on here quite a while ago with my Vh45DE powered R33 that some of u may remember, well now i have taken the next step and added a vortech T-Trim supercharger, programable ECU, Intercooler and a few other goodies. Its not yet running, but im hoping to have it completed in the next 2 weeks.

Let me know what u guys think.

Cheers

John

Sounds a bit crazy, but I definatly like that you're thinking "outside the box". So what made you swap out the RB?

Oh yeah, post more pics!!!11!

Ummm, skylines are super common in australia so i wanted something that would stand out basically. Can anyone give an estimate on how much power the car will make running ~7psi intercooled and fully tuned?

Full details and pics on the car here http://www.teamkrazy.com/australia/rides/johnv8/

I'll guess 330-350 at the wheels at 7 psi.

I love it. It's perfect.I'd rather have a VH than an RB any day.

Rob - Remember the BAD Q did WAY more than that at 6 psi. The VH responds VERY well to FI.

I'll venture 370, without emissions crap and on good gas.

Who did the boost map on the ECU?

I'd be wary of exceeding 8 lbs, but that's just because (to my knowledge) it's not been done before.

Microtech are building a custom programmable ECU for it. It does away with the airflow meter and uses a map sensor. Then the car will be tuned on the dyno.

I have to go with plain math. Volumetric efficiency is darn near 100% without FI. With 7 psi boost you can expect almost 50% more HP at most, say 450 at the crank (with better tuning than stock). What you back off for losses is open for interpretation. I used 25% (337.5HP) cause I'm trained to like my margins. If you can get losses down to 20% that would leave maybe 360HP at the wheels.

What is the trunk lined with?

Also, project looks good thus far, but one question: Isn't the supercharger outletfacing the wrong way?

The out let is there, off the outlet will be a 90deg mandrel down through the guard to feed the drivers side of the intercooler out the other side of the cooler back up through the passenger inner guard and into the throttle body.

The boot is just painted body colour and all un needed wiring and sound deadening removed as with the back seats and so forth. The car is getting a full cage to comply with our drag racing rules over here. So far all that is left is to finish the fuel system, machine the pulleys, and wire up the computer when it arrives as its not plug and play. Oh and repaint the ugly looking parts of the engine bay.

On most of the dyno's over here the car made between 230-250rwhp so would it be safe to assume on the same dyno it would make at least 400rwhp with losses. All it had was a custom set of header pipes and 3" exhaust.

More progress on mine, all the pulleys and adapters have been made intercooler mounted and piping done, Just have to make an idler and tensioner, finish off fuel system, wait for my computer to arrive and wire it up.... its booked in on the dyno on friday afternoon.... see how it goes....

383whp / 365 lb. ft. @ 7 PSI

Thats if it's a true 7# ... and not a 7# pulley.

If it's a 7# pulley then you will see about 5.5# of total boost with that oversized intercooler.

sounds good... the only reason we went with a cooler that big was for future plans to the car... i dont have enough money to throw things like that away and buy a bigger one when the time came and i needed one that size.
