Ok everyone,

NICO will be officially attending SEMA this year as a group. SEMA, for those who don't know, is the Specialty Equipment Market Association, which is basically the organization that is responsible for making after market automotive products legal.

The 2005 SEMA trade show will be Nov 1st-4th in Las Vegas, NV at the Las Vegas Convention Center. We went last year as a group, but hope to have an even bigger group there this year.

We will be staying at the Westward Ho hotel, located on the North end of the Strip. This is about as close to the convention center you can get while staying on the strip. Rooms are $40 a night.

Please post in this thread if you plan on attending, and how many of you there are. Also, post if you need a way to get in, as this is a TRADE-ONLY show. If you are not affiliated with an automotive business, please speak up! We can get you in, but we need to know beforehand.

Las Vegas airport code is LAS. Shuttles are available from the airport to the hotel. There is no need to rent a car.

See you guys there!!!

This is always a great time - NICO was well-represented last year, and will be even more so this year!

BTW, I've already been asked this...

But entry fee to SEMA is $15 but you MUST preregister. Otherwise, it's $50 and you might be on your own for getting in.

To register with NICO, paypal $15 to [email protected] with the subject line SEMA Registration.

You get treated better with the Buyer tags.

Greg can relate to this.

I will be with SPL again, hitting up 5Zigen for free food and drinking alot of those nasty free NOS energy drinks lol.

I am most definitely interested. I was planning to head to Vegas in October for my 21st birthday anyhow...I'll just postpone the trip until Nov.

I'm obviously not in the trade business.

My question is: is there anyway to get you the prereg money other than via paypal? I really don't like using internet-based means to pay for things, so I don't want to use paypal. I can if I must, but I prefer to just send someone a money order.

Sweet! NICO rocks!

Paypal is safer than mail. We went last year, and probably will go again this year. Will look into that hotel, and follow up as it gets closer.

SEMA is like the biggest car show you've ever been too, you see stuff before everyone else. Oh, and, uh, BABES!!!!!!

Kevin - Good luck finding a hotel if you wait much longer.

Last year, every room was booked 2 months before the event, closest available was in Henderson.

Will add the rest of you guys to the list. Hope you don't mind double-bunking or sleeping on the floor (well, except Rich - he gets a bed all to himself ).

NOTE: If you are NOT employed in the industry, SEMA has tightened their registration restrictions.

Please review these rules. We will be sending representatives from NICO, 240sx.org, and BRM Exhaust, but if you can secure your own credentials, that would save us a LOT of work.

I think I will be there. I have my credential already taken care of. I might be able to swing a couple extra "employees"... I'll get back to you guys on that.

Is the $40 for the hotel for sharing a room? Or is that your own room?

Are there any good "HOs" at the Westward HO!?

$40 is for the entire room. That's $10/person/night if you have 4 to a room. You can't beat that.

And no, the westward ho is mostly old people. All the young hotties are on the south end of the strip. But with a south strip hotel comes higher rates. I think most of us would opt for cheaper hotel and cab riding down to the good end of the strip
