Can I swap My digital speedo for a non?

Just currious if I can take the gage cluster out of my 94' vert & then swap it for the digital one from my 91' coupe? Are the plugs all the same? If I had to change any wiring I doubt I would bother. If it just an unplug & plug the other in. I'll do it tommorow night- Thanks

The digi cluster (HUD) uses a different harness.

I have contemplated obtaining a digi cluster, HUD unit and harness and retrofitting it into my 'vert.

Scary to consider cutting a hole in a pristine dash though!

I have everything in my coupe! I could just swap it all. I didn't really want to do a major overhaul to do it though Maybe it's just one of those grreat projects that are never going to happen

Not a bad project then - just swap the dash and all straight across.

actually all you need is the cluster subharness, it plugs into the dash harness back behind the cluster. You can unplug it without pulling the dash! and you don't need to install the HUD, you can swap the digital cluster over without plugging the hud in and the digital speedo should work.I have HUD in my vert but I swapped the whole dash over from my coupe.:-)

It's plug and play... you just need to unhook the subharness.. (about a foot long)

so if i found a junkyard coupe with the digital with HUD, i can take the dash (which i need to replace anyway cuz mine is cracked) and the cluster and the harnesses should all plug up?

yes. what year is it? dohc cars need tachs from dohc cars if you want the tach to work right, and you should know that the analog tach is a different size than the HUD tach so it may be difficult (or at least look odd) if you swap your analog tach into the HUD cluster. ideally you need a HUD off a dohc car, which is pretty rare, so you won't have to swap anything. You can make a dohc analog tach fit the sohc HUD cluster its just a bit of work and depending on how you do it it may look odd. I swapped needles on mine but the tach never worked quite right after (its like "slow") but I didn't care since I have an aftermarket tach anyway.
