First I would like to thank everyone for letting me park my rediculiously ugly car next to all of the beautiful nissans at nissan nationals. The puke yellow beast really appreciated it

But on to the subject at hand.. I am looking for a better intake manifold for my rb20 I do not want a mckinneys manifold and have heard rumors that others exist but I can't seem to find them.. Please help!!!!!

Also if anybody has a resistor box for an rb26dett I am looking to buy one NOW!!!

Thanks againKarma

There are quite a few threads recently about intake manifold options... Search for them and you will get more detail.

Here's a short list...

The do-it yourself manifolds on Ebay from Thailand suck. Tophat does a front facing version of the upper intake mani. RIPS out of New Zealand does an RB26dett/Supra style (front facing). This is probably the best in the world at the moment. A little pricy though.

A new company that I have been working with will be bringing one out this spring... Boost Flow Performance. I am going to be the test subject as soon as my full stock manifold (that I bought on ebay) gets here. I think it will be somewhere in the $700 - $800 range... We talked about a group buy for $600? The guys at Boost Flow are Supra guys, so they have some pretty awesome products out there. We also talked about a package deal including FMIC and piping.. More info to come in the future on that.

Hope that helps.. do a search though.. you will find a lot of info on other manifold options.

Here is an update on the new RB20 manifold from Boost Flow Technologies. My stock complete intake manifold just came today, so I am taking it down there to have them start work on the new custom manifold. They will be using my car as a test fit to work on the design.

Here are some photo's of there work. This is a recently completed Supra 2JZ intake.

Here is the start of the new Australian Drag GTR Manifold

Here is another shot of it.

Question for the people that made custom intake, what material did you guys used to make the throttle body adapter? How thick is the aluminum to make the manifold. Thanks

I own a small welding shop. It is one of the sizes I have in the rack for handrail flanges and such, look for a place called Cameron Ashley building products but they will only sell full length . If you want small cut to length parts there is a place called Metal Supermarkets. or you can email me whith what you need and I will see if I have it in my shop...

I have a custom sidedraft manifold with 3 SK Sanyo twin throat 50mm throttle bodies. The manifold is billet, and the final matching has not been done yet. The throttle bodies are new. You would still have to fabricate an air box to go on the throttle bodies, but I have the 50mm stacks for dong that. But they are not Cheap !

Are the pairs spaced perfectly? Or do you have to cut them to make them fit the holes properly?

That looks awesome..

Nothing cut here, the manifold is made to fit this comon sidedraft carb pattern (same as a DCOE Weber, or PHH Mikuni).

I was at the Formula D drift event in NJ yesterday and saw this on an RB25 powered S13 driven for Falcon Tires. It looks like all they did was bolt a plate where the tb originally was, and weld a new one at the end of the stock manifold. The picture can explain it better than I can. Sorry for the poor quality, all I had was my cell.

Hey Nate

I was wondering is there a reason that you didn't just use the rb26 manifold and independent throttle bodies.. I mean it seams like a great alternative..

I made it not look like the one below..haha. I made the idle air control valve bolted directly to it so it will work properly and not make whistling noises, I made it a straight unit, it has a nicely shaped top, plate on the side I have to tap for vac-line fittings, and the inside has better flow characteristics...can't wait to try it out.
