The only problem with most lower speed rated tires is the rating is only tested for a limited life [8,000 miles]. Even H rated are only good for 130 mph Brand New........would I drive above much above 100mph on 20,000 mile H rate Michelin Pilot H..........not on my or your life. Brand new [after a 1,000 mile beakin and rebalance] sure.
I worry about old S and T rated wet braking distances as these factors are massively traded for longevity...........H [in even a Michelin is only so so after 20,000 miles] better than T but still not like a brand new V rated tire.
Not much call for even 90 mph now except on our loop roads [I285] to keep up with traffic or some infrequent passes where I cut it too close.
Still wish tire rack would test a new and used set of tires back to back, people don't realize how much performance disappears after 10,000 miles.
