| i wouldnt worry about it if your getting good mileage. im getting really good mileage and my 02's are throwing codes, psht to that. as for the throttle body, maybe they mean just adjusting the cable? does your gas pedal have some play or does it respond as soon as you touch it |
I think it need adjusting cause i cleaned out the TPS and the idle is bit rough(more then usual)

The 01 (HAS TO BE 01 im pretty sure) maxima MAF sensor is the exact same MAF, but sells for less than half the price..... stupid stealerships, think it was $110 VS $400+ for the one listed for our car
Theres quite a few threads about it if you search and get the part number, youll notice orderring online from Pinnacle Nissan, that the prices are MUCH cheaper than we have at canadian dealerships, and they do actual rate shipping, no gouging.
As for throttle body sensors, I wasnt aware we had any, but if they are anything like the throttle position sensors on a honda, you simply need a voltmeter and a spare foot, the TPS (throttle position sensor) has to read a certain voltage at idle, and at wide open throttle (WOT thats my name!!! /stupid plug lol), and you simply loosen its retaining bolts and adjust it, by rotating it, until its in spec, you literally have to move it a cvnt hair to see adjustments, reading its voltage by tapping into its lead wire with your voltmeter
Id clear the codes, clean the MAF sensor and IACV body thouroughly, and see whats best from there

I was just at an Infiniti dealer today getting a different code looked after (P0420) and was talking to the technician who I am friendly with about the MAF. He said that now you can get an aftermarket one in the GTA for less than $200.
Good luck!

The link that costs $110 comes with the tube aswell (that doesnt fit your car anyways), pinnacle nissans $80 part is just the sensor itself, no tube. If it makes a difference to ya

But doesnt it just suck to know, that any other joe in the world, who had this MAF problem, would simply bring there car into the dealer and eat the $700+ cost?? Like you just saved 700% or something like that, and all it takes to install is 2 freaking screws
Blows my mind
