Aparently Ive got 2 "trip" monitors in my odometer. Had no idea. I always thought it was just the one, never noticed the "A" and I used it to count my miles per tank.
Today I had my girl in the car and while i was getting food, she started puting gas in my car, I came out and she was tinkering with buttons on my cluster, I obviously asked her WTF the hoe was doin, and she pointed out to me that my "B" tripmeter was @ 31000!!
Blew my mind that there was 2 tripometers, Ive always just held the button to resest it I guess, never quickly pressed it. I guess those miles have accumulated since I bought it.
Ive finally got something to monitor oil change times lol
Any other stories?

My discovery happened 3 months ago when i found out I had a lock on my glovebox
and last night I noticed the rearview mirror has this switch on the bottom of it that basically dims it at night, i went bonkers.
OH and reading the brochure 2 months ago i realized the mirrors are also heated when the defrost is on for the rear window
the list goes on....and on...

i wish ours did that, those long highway drives it'd be nice, i have to put my seat straight up to actually use the headrest, useless.
Q45's are so sexy

I was surprised to find this on my '98 Pathy. Nice feature!

I'm surprised you didn't notice this feature, given our winters.
As for other surprises, it was 2 years before I discovered I could lower my front windows using my remote. Great feature.
(I just wish I could roll them up again the same way.)

When I ripped out the carpet I found a credit card offer for the original owner (I own a '97 that I bought in 2000), but I don't think this is what you are asking about. I wonder if the offer is still good?...

The owners' manual insists you can roll them up by holding the lock button on the remote, but I've never been able to do it. Only down.
I'm naturally curious, I found most of the neat little features of the Pathy within the first week. My only big surprise... when I got the Pathy I immediately noticed the mode/track up/track down audio controls on the left side of the steering wheel. It wasn't until two or three months later, when I was stopped with my steering wheel at a 90 degree angle, that I noticed the volume control on the side of the steering wheel controls too. Damn if I don't use that volume control a dozen times a day now.
When I took the Pathy on it's first camping trip, I found that you can lock/unlock the doors by putting the key into the keyhole on the hatch and turning it. I found that annoying, because everytime I wanted to open the glass on the hatch it'd lock the doors... but I didn't want them locked! You can't open the hatch glass without locking the doors, in my experience at least.
And this wasn't with the Pathy, but I will admit that it took me three years of driving to realize that with the cruise control, after canceling or pressing the brake, I could just press 'resume' to go back to my original speed. The days of searching for the right speed and pressing 'set' every single time are long gone!
The one thing I really want... to be able to blow air on 'vent' and 'defrost'. So many vehicles are missing this combination, I have no idea why. In Canadian winters, I want to be able to defrost my windshields AND heat up my hands, damnit!

Hmm... double-checking, it looks like it *doesn't* say in the manual that rolling up the windows is supported. Which is really weird to me... why let us roll them down with the remote but not up?

| I don't think you can roll them up with the remote, only the key. If you put the key in the drivers key cylinder and hold in the unlock position, it will open the windows. If you hold it in the lock position, it will close the windows. |
I tried the driver key cylinder in lock position to roll up the window. It doesn't work. I am not sure of newer models. Mine is 2002.

Sorry I have to correct myself: It DOES work in the driver key cylinder.

One way to be able to remotely open/close the front windows is to install an alarm system which uses the front door unlock wire. I know mine allows me to open/close the windows with the remote (Viper 5901).

OMG I had no idea? I hope my 2001 QX has this for some strange reason other than the cool factor.
I had a 98 QX4, after at least 2 years I had no idea that the back seats reclined. All of my friends are over 6 feet and I know I bumped some heads back there until I figured this out.
And I love on my 01 QX4 how you can control the headlight pitch. I use this all the time in the fast lane when your grandma's doing 60 in the 65 MPH. People MOVE out the way when their entire car is lit up from the Xenon blues.

I just found out this weekend that he died. With all the Michael Jackson bull$hit out there, Billy's death went pretty much unnoticed. Made me sad. I liked the guy.

Back on topic. I found out something, not recently mind you, but awhile after I got my Q; The front headrests are designed to move forward in a crash to minimize neck injury.

I'm so tired of the Michael Jackson coverage. I was watching CNN one day and they literally played the footage of MJ holding the baby over the balcony in a loop 4-5 times in a row. I'm tired of only hearing the negative spin. Like his financial issues, yea but no mention of the $150 - $300 million he donated which set records for his profession.

yeah in the manuel it shows that the credit card key and one other key wont open that. there is a master key that unlocks it its the only one of the three. i keep one of my ipods in there and a playstation 2 so i thought that was pretty cool
