Post Title: salvage car Posted by:autoart at 10:04 PM 9/21/2008 Is there any differance in financing and insuring a car with a salvage title?
Post Title: Re: salvage car (autoart) Posted by:zachary29 at 8:19 PM 9/23/2008 think about when you want to sell the car sometime down the road and explaining to people the salvage title. just dont do it
Post Title: Re: salvage car (autoart) Posted by:iMxOmar at 1:32 AM 1/8/2009 no salvage is not bad at all....
i sell many cars... once a buyer purchases a car from you and gets it inspected
title renews as a Rebuilt/Salvage Title
which is just as good as a Clean Title...
yes you will have the buyer ask too many questions about the history of the car this way... but theres nothing wrong with it..

Financing (?) perhaps, depends on the lending institution. (credit unions can be real touchy in this area) Otherwise "imxomar" is right, most, if not all states, will issue the new owner with a blemish-free title after a vehicle inspection, however, official state inspections only cover the surface of basic systems of a vehicle. That is, the brakes stop and the steering steers(the vehicle).....Ta-Da! .....your vehicle passed. How well it performs these duties(as well as others)remains an unknown. So, if you don't posess the expertise or equipment to pull a thorough inspection on the vehicle, go to the pro's .(an established, consionous garage/service group) A good inspection will find something,(on any car)that will pay for itself through lessening the purshase price or allowing you to walk away before you commit to a "money pit" project. Good luck.
Post Title: Posted by:msv at 9:44 AM 3/4/2009 as stated but I just want to stress some banks will not finance you due to the fact that it was a total lost at one point.
I would not do it because retail value sucks down the road.
but if you are going to make sure it's at least 25% off what it would of been if it was a clean title.
no disrespect but, rebuilt/selvage/thief titles are not anywhere close to a Clean title, now a days run a car fax before you buy any used car, history of the car makes the car (if it has a tendency to fuc** up on the past couple of owners then chances are it will do the same to you).
