Please list out the following for everyone:
- Murano model puchased
- Vehicle Options
- Total MSRP
- Purchase price paid or lease rate negotiated (before tax, etc)
- lease amount due at signing (if lease)
- contracted miles per year (if lease)
- term of the lease (if lease)
- any additionals the dealer threw in for you
Everyone's participation is greatly appreciated! This should be very helpful and informative to anyone that is in the market for a new Murano.

2009 Murano LE
- Nav w/Music Box
- Dual Panel Moonroof
- Splash Guards
- Floor Mats
MSRP: $39,920
My Price: $35,400
I think it is a pretty darn good deal, I was not able to work out anything better with any other dealers, so it will be interesting to see what everyone else was worked out.

options include:
all season floor mats
window vent visors
cargo liner
10 free all changes!
I still prefer the 1st Gens to the 2nd Gens Murano...specially the Manual mode.

- Vehicle Options: 3 pc floor mats, splash guards, dual moon roof, and roof rail crossbars
- Total MSRP: $38,260
- Purchase price paid before tax, title & license: $34,012
Purchased from a dealer in West Allis, Wisconsin.
Negotiations were done strictly via email, salesman told me I now hold the record for back and forth emails at 50 exchanges...
How did I fair with others in terms of pricing?
Nice forums - keep it up!

That sound a lot like the deal I got (an excellent deal). By the way, I would like to personally welcome you to NICOclub, and more specifically, the Murano forum! We are glad to have you here.
I am up in Green Bay, I actually did the same type of negotiating via e-mails, I ended up purchasing from a dealer in Gurnee, IL. Congrats on the new ride, I really hope you enjoy it. We just picked ours up last Wednesday, and love it so far, the only thing I am displeased with is the lack of the Song Title and Artist info on the default SAT Radio screen.

Timmbo,
I just checked out the SAT radio screen you were referring to. Unfortunately yes I can only view song and artist info by pressing another button - minor annoyance as SAT is not used very much.

New to the forums and this is my first post but I figured I would list the deal on the brand new '09 Murano SL I just purchased on Saturday (6/28/08). It's pretty loaded, although not LE loaded with black on black leather, HID's, dual panel moonroof, Nav system, intelligent key, power liftgate, etc. I still cannot believe how many features are on this vehicle and I did not get the highest trim level. It's as though I purchased a near-lux CUV. The ~ means approximate because I'm quoting all this from memory.
- 2009 Murano SL FWD
- Technology, Premium, Leather packages + NAVI, moonroof
- ~$36k USD
- ~$475/month before taxes
- $3k due at lease signing
- 12k miles per year
- 39 month lease
- The dealer threw in the Nav because during negotiations I wanted a $500 even payment AFTER taxes and he came back with $503/mo. I told him I would give him those 3 dollars if he would give me the model with the Nav system (I was eyeing it anyway but just didn't want to pay for it) and...he agreed.

2009 Nissan Murano SL AWD, floor mats, leather package, premium package, tech package, and splash guards.
$30,350.00 (before tax, title, license and $99 service fee.)
Could have even taken another $500 off had I bought it during their Memorial Day weekend sale.
I hope this information helps others bargain. I emailed and negotiated with about 6 dealerships. Within my area, my experiences showed Wisconsin dealers gave better prices than Illinois.

Seems negotiating via email is the way to go. Sure would have made it easier to compare the deals vs going to the showroom.
Wow, that would have been a really nice deal rascal on the SL, not that your deal on the LE is bad at all. Now that I have the agreement in front of me and comparing numbers with you guys I'm much less impressed with the deal I got. I should have stayed at the negotiating table a bit longer.
I would imagine my deal is probably average and w/o that Nav addition my deal would have been pretty poor I think.
Did you guys offer anything as a downpayment?

Didn't mean to rain down with my numbers - sorry
You got a great deal! Many people don't even think to negotiate the sticker & invoice price or are too frighten to. I took the variables of wasting gas for dealer visits, time waiting in the showroom and headaches of face to face back and forth exchanges out of the equation by going for strictly email negotiations. This method was particularly helpful because I had already known that I wanted a Murano in the beginning.
Even then I spent plenty of time going back and forth with these dealerships and I used every trick I could think of to get it down. I even accessed the public records of the salesman and found the Myspace page of the new car manager (who I found out graduated a year after me and even his older sister did have a crush on me in middle school, lol
). I purchased the consumerreports.org report for bottom line pricing, went to edmunds.com and read everything I could, also went to this site for major inspiration http://www.carbuyingtips.com/cardeals/nissan.htm (loads of info!)
I decided against the NAV system because I already had a portable Magellan GPS system.
I originally wanted to pay for the vehicle out right, but my frugal spouse didn't so I ended up putting $23k down and secured my own financing outside of the dealership.
I bet there are people out there who even got a better deal than us? Let's hear from you so that potential Murano buyers can benefit.

I think we have another opportunity here to help potential fellow Murano buyers out. And rascal, I would never ask this of another member, but Timmbo, as moderator, maybe you can fulfill the request as an example to the community. I think it would be nice if someone could take their "paper trail" so to speak of emails back and forth to the dealer (ALL personal info removed of course) and post it up for those that are afraid or need help negotiating. I'm not afraid to negotiate but seems I could use a bit of help myself. I would imagine we mostly need to see the numbers and overall generic negotiation (crushes are a specific case
). Good idea? Bad idea? Just throwing it out there.
I think the biggest mistake I made was not lowballing enough and negotiating on payment rather than total cost. In reality, I wanted a $500 payment and that's pretty much exactly what the dealer gave me. Although I will add that if I had NOT negotiated I would have been looking at a $549 payment for the Nav model BEFORE taxes. Ouch.

To be quite honest, my trail of e-mails is very basic. I originally contacted many Nissan dealers (through Nissan's website) within about 3 hours of me. I was extremely specific as to what I was going to purchase, and asked for a price. The ones that had the lowest prices, I e-mailed back again. I kept doing this until I could not get the dealers to go any lower in price. It was quite simple, and really didn't take a lot of time. I had already test drove an '09 Murano at a local dealer, so my only other trip to the dealer was to complete the purchase and drive home!

| Hi all... Just bought a new 09 Murano this past weekend. SL, FWD with leather, NAV, tech pkg, premium pkg, dual moonroof, floor mats... Paid flat $33K without tax & license. No trade in...paying cash. Did the whole transaction via phone and email. Threw down the gauntlet to several Nissan dealers in my area and one dealer came back with best under invoice offer. Also, dealer gave me the option to name color choice for ext and int and he'd locate that vehicle with my options and deliver it to me. Got just what I wanted which was an LE without a couple of the LE features I didn't care about like 20 inch wheels and memory seats. Got Deep Sapphire with Beige Leather. Live in warm weather year round...we have a Yukon for mountain/snowy trips. Think I got a good deal...if I didn't go easy on me...don't burst my bubble completely Hope to get decent MPG. What are you all averaging for MPG? |

It has pretty much everything available for SL AWD except Navigation.
I paid 32,800.00+ TTL(tax, title, license), which came out as 35,000.00 out of the door.
I signed for this forum today only and just wanted to know if I got a good deal.

Just leased my second Nissan Murano SL AWD (loaded) with Nav, Tech, Premium, Dual Moon roof, etc. My first Murano was a 2005 SL AWD similarly equipped with Nav too. I loved the car so much, I had to put myself in another one.
Here are the details...
MSRP: $38,565
Lease Term: 39 Months
Mileage: 12k / Year
Down Payment: $0
Monthly Payment: $435
Total Paid at Signing: $768 (Includes first month payment)
All things considered, I was paying $380 / month for my 2005 Murano SL AWD (also loaded) with close to 3k down.
What do you guys think?

First off, Welcome to NICOclub! Thanks for visiting the Murano Forum, we are glad to have you here.
Based on my own personal experiences, I think you could get the lease down to $450 ish, or get 15k/year for the $499. On the purchase side I think you should be able to get at least another $500 off, maybe even $1000. My suggestion, (this works for me) is to contact a few more dealers, even if they aren't in your same city. Send them e-mails via Nissan's website, be very specific about what you want, and it is even better if you see an exact vehicle you want in their inventory. Remember, you can view every dealer's inventory on Nissan's website. In your case, find another dealer with a vehicle you want, be very straight forward, say this is what I want, can you beat $499/month, 12k/year, no cash down? You will be shocked by how well this works, all of a sudden you will hit a road block where you find a rock bottom price, and no one can beat it. My '09 LE stickered around $40K, I ended up getting $3500 off the price, and I bought mine back in June when there were NO rebates. Granted, mine had a higher MSRP, but I still think you can get another $500-$1000 knocked off if you are purchasing. Good luck and keep us posted!

I think we got a rather good deal from a dealer in Queens, NY:
- Silver/Black SL AWD with 0% financing for 36mos
- Premium Package, Splash Guards and Custom Mats
- $27,650 including destination (no other dealer fees, tax/title/reg. extra). MSRP on the sticker was $32,045.
Dealers must be hurting in the NYC area, the Acura dealership offered us $7,000 off the sticker price for a new 2008 MDX w/ Technology package. I would have taken it but my wife thought the car was too big and sluggish and she didn't want leather seats (came standard on the MDX). I'm glad she didn't want it; I feel much better about purchasing the Murano.
We visited the Nissan dealer in Manhattan first and they offered us an '09 SL AWD w/ just roof rails and no other option installed for $26,240 (incl. destination). We realized that the Premium Package offers a lot more for just $1K add'l (e.g. Bose, RearView Camera, Autodim mirror w/ compass, HomeLink) and includes roof rails. They didn't have it readily available so we searched dealer inventory online and found this dealer in Queens who won our business.
This site is great, gave us benchmarks to compare against and I've found lots of interesting info and Web sites posted. Now that we're proud Murano owners we'll visit more often

Thanks for the compliments on the site! Sounds like you worked a sweet deal, especially when you factor in the 0% Financing. Now is a great time to buy. I completely agree with you regarding the MDX, it totally feels sluggish and slow (strange considering the HP rating). The Murano feels much quicker and sportier. I am glad you found the site helpful in your purchase, that is what we are here for! Enjoy the new ride!!!!!!!!

Including the thousand dollar rebate offered the last week
of October, we purchased our '09 Murano 5400 below
MSRP. We were thrilled with the deal (though we think
there may be even better ones coming up which will be
good for those waiting to buy.)
We are currently on our first road trip with the MO., just
today breaking 500 on the mileage and we have a couple
questions...(probably more to come later)
Has anyone detached the rear center seat belt?
There are just two of us at home now, and we will
likely NEVER use the center rear seat for a
passenger. If we should, we would of course
re-attach it. It bothers the female (me) in the family
when looking out the rear view mirror, especially in
the evening hours.
The AC/heat....
do you simple turn off the AC and the system defaults to
heat? We have not had to use the heater until today, and
it didn't seem to put out very warm air with the setting on 70.
Maybe we just need to move it up a couple degrees?
Love the car!
Love the forum! ..Very, very helpful!!
Thanks,
Jill

Welcome to NICOclub Jill!!!! We are excited to have you here in the Murano Forum!
It sounds like you may have gotten one of the best deals yet on the new (and very sweet) Murano!
Trust me, I agree with you on the center belt. YES, detach it and neatly store it into the ceiling holder. It is pretty easy to do, but if you have any problems let me know, I can always take a picture of mine for you.
As far as the Heat/AC goes, if the AC button is NOT illuminated, then yes, you are in heat mode. You may want to try bumping it up to 75, then you tend to feel the heat a lot more, and once winter is in full force, crank that baby to 90. Also, being that the Murano has such an efficient, high performance engine, it does take a few miles to heat up to where it throws hot air, my Armada on the other hand heats to full force a mile down the road, just a difference in engines.
Glad to have you on board Jill, let us know how you enjoy the new ride, and please, keep in touch with any questions!

We will be back home in the next day or so, and will
try to take care of that rear seat belt then.
About the AC/heat, I guess I was thinking since we keep
the temp set on 68 at the house, then 68 in the car should work,
also. And it sounds like it will...in chilly, not cold weather.
We are really enjoying our trip in the new car!!
(Only problem is, I am not getting a turn to drive much!!)
It has given us the opportunity to see how the car will
handle in all kinds of conditions... rain, mountains, fog.
Just no snow, yet (not ready for snow anyway).
Thanks again! and have a great weekend!!

No problem! Like I said, if you need any help with the seatbelt, or anything else for that matter, let me know! Yeah, the one thing is in the car you don't have to worry about it costing you more to keep the vehicle at a warmer temperature (unlike our homes). LOL When it is in the 30's outside, I usually have it around the mid 70's. Usually I just spin it to whatever my comfort level is. I am not sure if you have heated seats, but that will also be a factor.

Has anyone heard about possible Murano promotions for December? I live in the Washington, DC area where there are lots of Nissan dealers. Thanks and I look forward to any feedback the forum readers can offer.

maxxmd , that is a very aggressive deal! Sounds like the same model I have. I purchased back in June when the MSRP was just a little less, but there were no incentives at all. You can probably get at least another $500 off, maybe even $1000.
DC44 , if you are checking out a Murano LE that is totally loaded, check out the deal maxxmd is looking at, that is what you should be able to do, and possibly just a bit more off yet. You have to remember the '09 Murano is all new, and is selling rather well for Nissan (all things considered).
Good luck to both of you, and please keep everyone abreast as to what you end up doing!

Total MSRP:
$40,495
Purchase price paid (before tax, etc):
$35,000
Any additionals the dealer threw in for you:
Free cup of Columbian Coffee.
This forum helped me out a lot...especially this thread. To be honest, I wanted to see if I could walk away with the best deal on this thread...and according to the other posts, I'm the current leader. Do I win a cigar or anything?
We started with the email approach and this allowed us to sort through the riff-raff of dealers out there. There was only one vehicle in our area with our exact specifications, so we had about three dealers trying to sell us the same car (and of course they didn't tell us its true location). The guy in my town (Corona, CA) gave me a preferred fleet price of $35,995 + fees, and this was the lowest of everyone, but I wanted to get it for $35,000 flat. I think what ultimately worked in our favor was the fact that we were ready to walk if our exact price wasn't accepted.
In the end, we got a top of the line Murano with all the bells and whistles for the exact price we wanted, and they're even going to deliver it to us (as soon as they go pick it up in Long Beach).
There's still a part of me that wonders if I could have gotten it a few hundred cheaper.

Nice deal dgelz! I paid $400 more for the same model, but when I purchased back in June Nissan did not have the $1000 rebate. You may have been able to get another couple hundred off the price, but you have to be thrilled with that price. Truly a great deal. Nice work!

This time I picked one that retails for $35,545 2009 Murano SL AWD Glacier Pearl / Beige Leather Splash Guards Premium Package Technology Package Leather Package Floor mats 4 oil changes It also has wheel locks and airbag lock installed for $30,497 + TTL Which is $2034 below invoice + extras. That sounds like a fine deal made by a fellow Wisconsinite! Welcome to NICOclub, glad to have you here in the Murano Forum. So I have to ask, how did it drive in the snow? Do you have VDC on yours?

I don't know for sure what the next round of incentives include, I would not expect much more for the Murano, but I do know that the end of Nissan's fiscal year is in March, so they usually offer their most aggresive deals then. Although things are a bit different now with the slow market. Be sure to keeps us up to speed as to what you end up doing!

I loved the car so much, I had to put myself in another one. Here are the details... MSRP: $38,565 All things considered, I was paying $380 / month for my 2005 Murano SL AWD (also loaded) with close to 3k down. What do you guys think? -randyman |
Is your Monthly Payment: $435 including tax or is this before tax?

MSRP should be around $32,610. I think you can get more off on the lease deal. Did you check with any other Nissan dealers? See if there are any others with a vehicle in-stock that you would be interested in. Check at least two more dealers if possible. Let us know the outcome!

i REALLY wanted the DVD player, but common sense took over for me (no kids) as i realized its a nice luxury, but pushes the price higher for something i wont use. Plus, i believe with the AV jacks i can hook up my iPhone to that connect and watch videos (with the E-brake on).
I certainly am enjoying it so far and is more of a luxury car that i thought before i had seen it.

The thing is you can't get the dual panel roof AND the DVD player, and to me, the roof is totally a requirement, besides, I have the DVD player in my Armada for the kids. Of course my 2yr old thus far has no interest in movies. LOL, go figure!

At that lease rate you will shell out $17,550 by the end of the lease and have no ownership or equity. If you can, go for a longer term loan and buy the vehicle. Then you will have equity, no mileage limitation, right to prepay the loan or sell the vehicle with no penalty which is a nice thing if the world falls apart. You should also consider that this is such a wonderful vehicle that at the end of 39 months you might not yet want to part with it. Why face car shopping every 3 years or so. What a pain. That's how it looks from here. Good luck. Hmason| Quote, originally posted by lkbutler75 » |
| Yes, leasing works best for me. I'm only paying for what I use and I'm always wanting something new; hence, I will always have a car payment so why pay for the whole thing;-)? I normally don't put over 10k a year on a car. When I get closer to retirement, I will definitely purchase a car, but probably not until then. Thanks for the response. |
I am with you, I always like a new vehicle, and anyway you look at I will have a car payment, now my payment is technically less, and I never have to worry about getting screwed on a trade in. I own our Murano, but I lease my Armada, and I am always right at my 15K limit, and even if you go over a little, Nissan gives good standing accounts a $500 cushion at the end of the lease.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Hey we all need to do what we need to do. You will love the car no matter what your decision is. Happy New Year | Quote, originally posted by Hmason » |
At the end of 39 months you'll have paid for more than half the car. Then you give it back and start all over. Heck of a deal for the dealer don't you think? If you purchased, at the end of 39 months you could certainly trade it in for more than $17,500 and still get your new car--especially at 10K miles per year. Leases only pay when they have very high residuals and low payments. For example, when the Subaru Tribeca was new to the market they had a lease deal for $299/month for the Limited with leather and the 3rd row seat etc. I went for that deal because it made financial sense. Think about it. Hey we all need to do what we need to do. You will love the car no matter what your decision is. Happy New Year |
It does depend on the deal that is out there. There are a TON of lease deals that simply SUCK! I had an '05 G35x that had an MSRP of $38K on it, I got a 39month lease, 15k/year, with $499 at signing. That was AFTER I traded in a Toyota Solara that I was about $1000 upside down on. That is a good deal. I can't ever imagine shelling out $3000 at signing on some of these leases that they advertise, that is ridiculous. I believe that if you can get a good deal on a new car, financially, yes, that is the best thing to do. However, some of us want a new car all the time, and then the lease can become the better deal. Personally I love leases, but it has to be the right deal, but I purchased my '09 Murano, so it all depends on what you want, and the deal you can get.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Also the 1k rebate is for people coming off the murano lease and buying a new one. At least that's what the dealer said and i didn;t see any other adds for that.

We are picking up our first Murano in a few days for $31,419 and I had a question about MSRP. We are getting an SL-AWD, Prem, Tech, Leather, Moonroof, Spalsh Guard, Floor mats with an Edmunds MSRP of $37,525 (this includes the 780 destination fee). The dealer is using an MSRP of $36,595 to calculate the lease payment. The lower MSRP will actually increase my monthly lease payments and I suspect that the dealer will report the car sold using the higher MSRP to bump up their profits. Reading this thread it looks like the MSRPs did change in 2008, does anyone have any information on when they changed and what they were prior to the current MSRP?
Many thanks for your help.

The price increase took place 11/18/08. I believe it was either a $500 or $750 increase. All models that were complete on or after this date would reflect the price increase.......keep in mind though that dealer can still have models on their lots that have the previous MSRP. I hope this helps and good luck on the new purchase!

2009 Murano SL AWD
- Exterior - Merlot
- Interior - Tan Leather
- Options - Tech, Premium, and Leather Packages, Floor Mats, Splash Guards, moon roof
- MSRP - $36,715
- Purchase price paid - $30,857 (without TTL and trade)
- Walk out the door trade in and TTL - $26,524
- Financed at 0% for 36 months
This was an internet deal and as much as I tried, I could not get them to budge off this number. Trade in for my 2002 Maxima GLE was a royal pain as they tried to low ball me to make up for the low price for the new car.
I pick my new ride on Monday, 1/5 and I hope I am as happy as all other new owners!
Happy New Year from just outside St. Louis!

I have to start by saying that this is a cool forum/thread and I wish I had found it before I purchased my new Murano. Here's what I got:
2009 Murano SL AWD
- Exterior Color - Platinum Graphite
- Interior Color - Black Leather
- Packages and Options
-- Splash Guards
-- Dual Panel Moon roof
-- Premium Package
-- Technology Package
-- Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System with Music Box
-- Leather Package
-- Floor Mats
- MSRP with Dest - $39,375
- Price paid - $33,897 (ttl extra)
- Extras - First oil change free + 3 additional oil changes on the house
I got the dealer to knock off additional $$ and throw in the 3 oil changes b/c the car had 100 miles on it already (not a demo or so I'm hoping) and it had a small scratch on the rear bumper which they will fix later (have that in writing so they can't go back on their word!)

I bought the LE which comes loaded with features, including the 20-inch wheels, heated seats, memory seat/mirror/steering wheel, auto liftgate, reverse camera, Bose super sound system, iPod link, Bluetooth for phone, and auto-return for the rear seats. I did NOT get the navigation or DVD player. The MSRP of my car, with the sunroof, is about $38,700. The dealer also gave me free carwashes for life, free inspections for life, and $1.95 oil changes once every few months. I hope this is helpful.

| How does this sound? LE Model |
Happy New Year from NICOclub! Welcome to the Murano Forum!
I will be completely honest with you, if that is a lease, it really doesn't sound like all that great of a deal. I just want to make sure you get the very best deal possible. I am assuming that that is a 39 month lease, with 15k miles/year? Am I correct on that? Is tax included in the $555? Here is the thing, scroll up and you will see that hollisterohio will be getting a Murano that has a sticker price about $2000 - $3000 less than the LE you are looking at, however his payment is only $439 (including taxes) with NO MONEY DOWN. I am not saying you can get it for the same price, but I would be willing to bet you could get into the $460-$480 range with very little money down for 39 months and 15k/year. Here is another example, the other vehicle I drive is an '08 Armada. Sticker price was $53,000, I leased for 39 months, 15k/year, $380 down, and my payment is $620 (with taxes). Now, in my case the down payment was supposed to be $880, but they waived $500 because I was coming out of an Infiniti (Nissan product). E-mail me if you have any more questions, I would be glad to personally help you out, or post any questions here and I will reply within a day. Good luck dealing!

Monthly payment: $406.21: $378.13 (depreciation & interest) + $28.08 (NJ Sales tax @ 7%)
The manager was not happy about this deal and my wife overheard him saying that they made no money on this car and that he was going to talk to the internet sales guy asap.
We look forward to enjoying this car as much as our last ride.

Thank you and every one else on the board for great info - I am looking to get a Murano in next 30 days and this info is awesome!
Your deal looks fantastic - I've been trying to recreate the numbers using the info you provided and am coming up with a lease of just under $450 per month (not including tax) - how did you get so much lower - has anyone else checked the math, hopefully its my spreadsheet that is off.
Also, general question, when in a lease is the tax piece only applied to the amount you will use ie: price paid - residual * tax rate / 39 months?
Thanks again

Post Title: Pricing for 2009 Murano S - new and used
Posted by: jbushnell at 12:01 PM 1/13/2009
(1) NEW 2009 Murano S - FWD
MSRP: $27680. Invoice: $25,540
They are offering these for $22,999.
Is anyone seeing better prices? What room do I have to negotiate the Murano price? Can I negotiate with the destination fee ($780) or any of the basic features? (Splash guards, floor mats, cargo protector, etc.)
(2) Used 2009 Murano S - AWD
MSRP: $29,280. Invoice: $26,975
These were program cars (Enterprise Rental) and have 20K - 25K miles on them.
Dealer is advertising for $19,990 and up.
They also say they could add heated, leather seats. (I'm sure for a pretty penny.) They also say it can/will go through their Nissan used car certification.
I can't find pricing for used 2009 models. Is this a good price? Do I have negotiation room? What should I be concerned about (watch out for) regarding program cars?
We do plan to trade in a car. Thanks for your help.

Just joined NICOclub, great site.
I'm looking at a Murano '09 SL Lease. Actually visited the dealer inquiring about the current S AWD with convenience package lease special on Nissan's website. It is $2,670 down + TTL, with $329 + Tax for 39 months. It expires Feb 2.
The dealer did not have an S model with AWD and convenience package, so they wanted to get me into an SL. First offer was high at $4895 down with $499/month. I said no thanks.
But they were not about to let me walk out just yet. Bottom line offer is this:
- Murano SL FWD (base MSRP = $28,420)
- Platinum Graphite / Black
- Splash Guards
- Premium Package
- Floor Mats (3 piece)
- Cargo Area Protector
- Roof Rack Cross bars
- Tow Package
- Destination Charge
Total MSRP $31,420
Sales Price $28,700
Residual $16,024 (51%)
Miles yr/ 12,000
Term 39 months
All Scheduled Maintenance during the term of the lease
Down Payment $2,225, (includes 1st month's payment)
Out the door fees (ttl, etc) = $0, (included in Down Payment)
Monthly Payment $369 + Tax ($395 total, 7% sales in FL)
I could not get a straight answer on the money factor. I was told the interest rate was about 3.98%, which is equivalent to a .001658 MF. But using the above, I calculate it to .00208, which is more like 5%.
If you back out the 1st months payment, the down payment would be in the range for ttl, so I see it basically as a zero, or little down deal (couple hundred or so).
Does this sound like a good deal?
Thanks

| Hmmm. Well I keep hearing that the residual on the LE and the SL is different so the 49% and 54% appears to be fairly static no matter who I've contacted. It's a 36 mos. lease and the $550 includes tax. MSRP is $38070 and the sale price of $35070 is pretty much the lowest I've seen on any forum or been quoted by any relatively local dealer. Perhaps it's different in other parts of the country but so far, Seattle, WA dealers are not hurting as much as maybe others are...yet. If someone has a better deal somewhere on an LE lease, I'd love to hear it. Everything but the DVD and nav. I'm going to be pulling the trigger on or around 2.5.09 when my other lease is up. thanks! |
Interesting, I still think there is more room to play on that. Did you check what your payment would be if you went to 39 months? I have an LE, with everything, and I have a payment of about $600/month for 60 months, and that is a purchase, not a lease. They should be able to knock of another $1000 on the unit you are looking at. Maybe the dealers aren't hurting as bad, just seems like there is more room to play. Good luck and let us know how things pan out!

I've also worked with Gardena Nissan but haven't made the deal yet. Looking at the same model, did you get it in tinted broze\beige?
Is the 37,161 out to door price?
Also you said after rebate, what rebate did you get?
Thanks!

First post here.
just picked up a Brilliant Silver Murano this morning. Took advantage of the 2.9% for 60 months and the $500 rebate.
The car has the Leather and Performance packages.
Got it for $30,514 (after rebate) but before tax. Also had $1,174.52 on my old lease absorbed at this price. Nissan gave a $0 early term fee in order for the deal to get done.
Had a 2006 Murano that was coming off the lease, so I grabbed this one.
Haven't purchased a car in many years, and being that I plan on owning this car for quite some time I actually also bought the extended warranty - got 6 years/75,000 miles for $982. From one of the other forums here I checked out some of the internet sites for the extended warranties and they came nowhere close to this. I was pleasantly surprised.
Hope I didn't get hosed on this deal.

It was way too pricey. Then in April, I went to look at another dealership and worked with a kid who was new. He priced out an LE for me loaded and when I got to the F&I part the deal was for an SL not an LE. I was livid and about to walk and tell all of my bad experience. The Sales Manager came in and tried to convince me it was the same car as I wanted - not! I told him if I did the deal, everytime I looked at the wheels, it would remind me of his slimey manner. No, no, he said, it was an honest mistake... I said prove it.
So I drove out with a fully loaded LE, having financed a total of 32K with a 4K trade for my 04 Pathfinder (on which I owed 9K). I told him on the way out that he wanted to give me a rear cargo protector - he smiled and said I guess I do...
I never saw a sales guy sweat as much as he did... I consider it a part of the deal!

Here is an update of my post on 1/13. I had taken the silver/black SL, premium pkg, cloth seats Murano home with a deal worked out but not signed (47 mins after closing time!). The original deal was at $395/month, 39 months, 12,000 miles/yr. After reading some of the leasing posts here on NICOClub, I felt I could have got the leather package as well for the same price range. I went to another dealer I had contacted before and got a deal for a similar SL with but with the leather pkg for the same price. I went to return the cloth seat SL and told them I was not happy and should be able to do better. Bottom line, I was able to get a different SL from a sister store, with the leather package I wanted, plus the technology package, at $388/month, ($7 less!).
Needless to say, I am much happier with this deal.
Here are the details:
- Murano SL FWD (base MSRP = $29,230)
- Brilliant Silver / Black
- Splash Guards
- Premium Package
- Floor Mats (3 piece)
- Leather Package
- Technology Package
- Destination Charge
Total MSRP with options: $34,755
Sales Price $30,274
Acquisition Fee $595
Basic Maintenance $461
(All Scheduled Maintenance during the term of the lease)
Residual $17,019 (51%)
Term 39 months
Miles yr/ 12,000
Down Payment $2,893
Out the door fees (ttl, etc) = $0, (included in Down Payment)
Money Factor 0.00145
Monthly Payment $363 + Tax ($388 total, 7% sales in FL)

154 miles on it at the time of purchase
MSRP quoted by dealer: $41,060.00
E-Price initially offered by dealer: $37,228.00 (before tax, title, etc.)
Total Selling Price Including Accessories (before sales tax, title, all other fees, before the $500 rebate & before my $300 trade-in): $35,220.36
[Note: As you can see, I was able to knock $2,000 off the E-Price initially being offered]
Total Drive-out Purchase Price I Paid (including sales tax, title, all other fees, after the $500 rebate & after my $300 trade-in): $37,199.52
[Note: Keep in mind the number of options included in this deal]
Additionals the Dealer Threw In: First oil change free
Additional comments:
I purchased this LE on February 5, 2009 at Team Nissan of Marietta (Georgia). From January 21 - February 4, I emailed 15 Atlanta area Nissan dealerships and didn't settle on Team Marietta until all of the 14 other dealerships had dropped out of the bidding, leaving me with Team Marietta as the only one still standing (I got treated very decently by Team, I might add).
I believe I got an excellent price for this FULLY-LOADED and brand new LE (seven Murano options total). The fact all the other dealers finally dropped out when we got down to the nitty gritty was pretty telling.
By the way, my extremely cheap $300.00 trade-in vehicle was a 1995 Acura Integra LS with one foot in the grave (believe me, when it came to this trade-in, I couldn't have done any better than I did). So the trade-in factor was basically non-existent.

What I did was contact 15 Atlanta area Nissan dealerships by email only. Initially, I resisted all their efforts to bait me into calling them or visiting them and kept all my communications to emails only... until I got some solid numbers from them (their asking price and their drive-out price, along with a breakdown of ALL their fees, taxes, etc.). I also asked each of them to give me the VIN number of the vehicle they claimed to have in their lot... what I found was that several dealerships were claiming to have the very same vehicle in their lot (what they planned to do was a dealer purchase or dealer trade-out to get the vehicle in question over to their lot).
I pitted the dealerships against each other and forced them to bid for my business. This had the net effect of bringing down the price quotes while adding up more optional equipment for the vehicle.
Once I finally boiled things down to four dealerships that were in serious competition for my business (after the other 11 had dropped out), I made my first phone calls to them and paid my first visits to their dealerships. Any sooner than that and it would have been a waste of time and effort.
Cheers

Post Title: Re: Murano Price Paid / Lease Rate Thread (Cargal)
Posted by: johnsonbr333 at 11:09 AM 2/17/2009
Put your foot down and be firm with them: that you are not calling a single one of them or going in to see a single one of them until you have narrowed your list of dealerships down to the ones who are in your numbers range. Let them know you have not yet called or seen one single dealership yet (then they'll know the playing field is level, all are being treated the same, and that therefore they've still got a shot with you). Basically what you're saying to them is: I've already decided which vehicle I want and which options I want at a minimum... now all I'm doing is selecting my dealership... and the dealership I go with will obviously be the one who gives me the best drive-out price for the kind of vehicle I have my eyes on. Tell them that. Be completely upfront and honest with them.
Whenever I got a VIN from a dealer, I simply did a GOOGLE search on that number. All you have to do is put the 17-digit number into the GOOGLE search window. If the vehicle is being advertised online at a dealership then it will come up immediately (you're likely to get more than one GOOGLE result, in fact). So you'll be able to check over the information concerning the vehicle itself and which dealership it's really located at. Also, you should get a Carmax result from your GOOGLE search that should also verify the make and model, etc.
You want to avoid problems like some dealer switching you (either accidentally or intentionally) to an SL when what you're talking about is an LE. Knowing the VIN number will help keep things on the straight and narrow. The only time they won't have the VIN is if they haven't ordered the vehicle yet from groundstock.
When I did this, I learned that several area dealerships were offering me various price quotes for the same exact vehicle that was located at a local dealership lot. Nothing wrong with that as long as they didn't lie to me by saying it was, at that moment, at their lot when it really wasn't. If dealers want to try to get a car from another dealer's lot, by way of a dealer trade-in or dealer purchase or whatever, and then sell it to you at a lower price than what the dealer who actually has the car is willing to sell it to you for, that's perfectly fine. Just make sure you know what's really going on concerning where that vehicle is really located and what the dealership is planning to do to get you a better price. Don't be afraid to ask them why they can offer you a lower price for the same vehicle than the home dealer.
Knowledge is power. You want as much information as you can get. Get the information. Then make a great deal by pitting the dealerships against each other to bid you the best price you can get for the vehicle you want.

Taking your advice (paying $500 over invoice), my sales price would have been somewhere between $38,000 and $38,900. That's just the sales price, before taxes, tags, etc.
To see that, go to Edmunds.com and look up the MSRP and Invoice figures for the 2009 Nissan Murano LE once you add all the options I received with this vehicle: U01 NAV, J01 Dual Panel Moonroof, P93 Illuminated Door Sills, R92 Black Roof Rail Crossbars, B10 Splash Guards, L92 Carpeted Floor Mats (3 Piece Set), N93 Cargo Area Protector. If you leave out the destination fee of $780, the total MSRP is $41,090 and the total Invoice is $37,595. If you leave in the destination fee of $780, the total MSRP is $41,870 and the total Invoice is $38,375.
So again, by your method, if I pay $500 over the total Invoice for such a loaded vehicle as this, I would pay a sales price (before taxes, title, etc.) of somewhere between $38,000 and $38,900.
Why would I prefer your method when my method got me a much lower sales price of $35,220.36? Again, take note that this is my selling price for a 2009 Nissan Murano LE with the seven options I listed above (plus wheel locks that the dealer threw in, if you want to get really specific about it). Compare this to others who paid a sales price similar to this but for a Murano with less options. Once you do that, you realize how great a deal this really was.
Yet you would have me just simply call and schedule an appointment and go into the dealership and pay $3,000 more than I paid. I don't understand that kind of reasoning but you're welcome to it.
You seem to think I went through a lot of things to buy this vehicle ("I can't believe the things some of you go through to buy a car"). Friend, it was no effort whatsoever, I can assure you. The Internet makes it very easy to do all this. So it's easy and it's much better than your old-fashioned way of just going into the dealership, first things first, and paying $3,000 more than you really have to pay.
All I did was email 15 Atlanta area Nissan dealerships between January 21 and February 4. Easy as pie. I was put into email correspondence with most of them via Edmunds.com. As for the rest, I was able to get their email addresses simply by finding their individual dealership web sites via Google. It took no time whatsoever to be placed in email touch with all 15 dealerships.
I saved a lot of needless time, effort and gas money this way. I simply emailed all of them and was able to get them to confirm for me the breakdown on the offer they were making to me and confirmed the VINs for all the vehicles being offered to me.
By the time I was finally ready to make my first phone calls and visits to the dealerships (note: when "I" decided it was right for me to see them, not when "they" decided it was right for me to see them), I was in a very powerful position as a customer.
Final results: My sales price of $35,220.36 was whittled down to $34,720.36 (after the $500 rebate) and there was yet a further deduction of $320 for my 14-year-old junky trade-in... $34,400.00. After taxes, title and all other fees, my drive-out price was $37,200.00 (or $37,199.52 to be exact).
Again, compare the price I got for this FULLY loaded 2009 Nissan Murano LE with the prices you've seen others get for a 2009 Murano LE that did NOT have all the options I received.
And ask yourself... which method is better? Yours or mine?
Mine was time-saving, effort-saving, gas-saving, frustration-saving, confusion-saving and ultimately MONEY-saving. And it was all very easy to do... easy as pie.

Go ahead and ask my salesperson yourself whether he was happy with the deal we struck. His name is Michael Rezi and he's at Team Nissan of Marietta. I think you'll find that he (and his boss Dwight Parrish) was/were both pleased with the result of our negotiating. They can be reached at 770.422.4546.
Bottom line: I'm not running a charity. I'm trying to buy a car and get the best price for it. I don't worry about the salesman and the salesman doesn't worry about me. I worry only about myself... and I let the salesman worry about himself.
If the negotiating doesn't look to be a winner for a salesman, believe me he'll drop out of the bidding (as 14 other dealerships did). They don't need me to look out for them and worry about whether they are going to come out all right. They're all adults and perfectly capable of looking out for themselves. And believe me, they will look out for themselves. If the deal is too rich for them, they will drop out and move on to other customers like you who are willing to pay more in order to help them out.
After dealing with 15 dealerships, then whittling it down to four dealerships... Team Nissan of Marietta was finally the last dealership left standing. They simply had what it took to make this deal while the others did not. When the others couldn't do the deal, they simply dropped out.
Capitalism at its finest. It's part of what made this country great and if we don't abandon it completely and become a bunch of socialists (given the tough times we're in right now) then it will eventually help make us even greater.
Approach this stuff as a red-blooded American Capitalist and you'll succeed every time, my friend.

I always tip my waiters and waitresses 20 % of the bill. Always without fail, unless their service is horrible.
You and I (all of us) are selective when it comes to tipping. If we applied your rule of charity, we would be tipping everyone all the time. At the grocery store, we would be tipping the employee who showed us where the soup aisle is located, then we would be tipping the cashier AND the bagger, even if we carried our own groceries to our car without any assistance.
Do most of us do all that? Of course not. So we are selective about who it is that we tip and who we do not tip. In the case of buying the Murano, I chose not to tip my car salesman. You consider that wrong. But back that up... go ahead and call the salesman at the phone number I gave you earlier and ask him directly whether he thinks I owed him a tip. Then report back to us in this forum what he tells you.
We are free to tip those we wish to tip and to not tip those we wish not to tip. Most of us tip some here and there but not always. We do it selectively. I doubt you are an exception to that.
So by all means, go out and practice Capitalism ("Let's do it!" as you say). But please don't assume that practicing Capitalism means imposing a moratorium on all tipping. It doesn't mean that at all. It never has meant that and it never will.

It sounds like there are some very good deals to be had on the Murano. Nice work getting the dealers to DEAL!!!!! Congrats on the new rides!

Just as you say, there must have been some form of compensation that the dealership, Team Nissan of Marietta, was able to get that afforded them the opportunity to sell me this brand new Murano with the seven options at the low price we agreed on.
Even though they sold me this well-loaded vehicle at a price well below Invoice, there must have been good reason for them to do the deal or they surely would have dropped out like the other 14 dealerships eventually did.
If, in the end, the dealership actually did take a loss on this (that is, if there was no compensation for them even through my decision to take financing through Nissan or through some other kind of Nissan corporate reward for dealers) then that particular dealership simply decided it was better to let that particular vehicle go rather than keep it on the lot. Again, whatever the case happened to be here, obviously the dealer made a decision that it felt was in its best interest. That's what mature adult businessmen do every day in this country.
I just don't buy this nonsense that I have some politically correct obligation to watch out for the dealer and make sure he's getting a tip or something for his hard work. He's a grown-up and perfectly capable of watching out for himself. As a businessman, if it's not worth it to him to do the deal, then he simply won't do it.
Besides, I worked harder than the dealer did. He only had to deal with me. I had to deal with 15 dealerships. I worked harder than they all did to make this deal and I deserve the great results that I achieved. If anyone deserves a tip for working hard to make this deal happen, it's me!
If other customers want to gripe because they didn't do as well with their Murano deal as I did, then let them gripe. If they want to try to make me feel guilty because I had the nerve to watch out for only my own interests as a customer (and didn't watch out for the interests of the dealer too) then theirs is an alien philosophy that I certainly do not agree with.
So I think you are dead on, Cargal, and thank you.

Sorry, I'm not sure of the proper way to create a new posting, so I just hit Reply. Anyway, I'm looking at leasing my second Murano. I go to a dealership that wants to give me $100 over invoice on an SL AWD, with Tech, Prem, Leather. I've dealt with the same dealership forever, but have never questioned the pricing, as I am a "friend of the family". Well, my cynical nature has lead me to the NICO site. From what I'm reading, I might not be geting close the best deal I can.
A few questions:
What is a reasonable amt to pay?
Is "Invoice" really the amount dealers pay?
Below Invoice, how does the dealer make money?
Is Feb really the best time to buy/lease from Nissan?
Thanks!

Best way to test this deal being offered to you is to check with all the other Nissan dealerships in your area to see whether any of them can beat what's being offered to you.
Save yourself gas money, time, effort and a lot of nonsense-talk by emailing these other dealerships. You can go through Edmunds.com or other similar services that place you in touch, by email, with the dealerships in your area. Or you can go to Nissan's corporate web site and get a list of all the dealerships located near you and then get their individual email addresses by going to each dealership's web site.
However you decide to do it, make sure to get in email contact with all of them. It won't take much effort to accomplish that. Once you're in touch with them by email, simply outline all details of the deal being offered to you and ask each dealership to beat that deal.
Resist all efforts by the dealers to get you to call them or get you to visit them... until you have whittled your list of offered deals down to best ones. Once you know which dealers are really offering you the best deals, then it will be time to call them and visit them.
In the end, you might find yourself going with another dealership other than the one you're talking to now. Or you might find yourself able to get a much better deal from the original dealership than the deal they're offering you now (once they see you've done your homework and can get a better deal elsewhere).
So plan your work. Then work your plan. And you should do well.
All of this is amazingly easy. The Internet has revolutionized the whole process for you. It's now there for you to use. So use it. And you will be glad that you did.

My current lease is ending in May and I know Nissan currently has a special mf rate of .00154 for 39 months, low by today's standard. We want to lease a murano but really don't want to take the hit for the last 3 payments. We were going to wait until May to get a new car but the way the economy is, are not sure if mf rates will get better. The industry is moving away from leasing and I'm afraid Nissan will follow suit. For example, there are phenomenal prices on 09 RX 350's, 10k under MSRP however their financing, lease or buy, is very high, making payments up over $600/month for 48 months.
We are just not sure what to do. If this mf stays in place for the next 3 months then we are fine and we really want to lease. I just want to hear what your opinion is. Thanks all!

Looks like the some members have already given you some fantastic advice! Nissan's fiscal year ends at the end of March, that is why you want to purchase/lease by then. Good luck, be sure to post what your end deal is. Let us know if you have any more questions!

I would rather "lose" the last 2 months of my current lease vs being financed out of a murano. Please advise, I also know that it's just your opinion and won't hold you to your opinion. Thanks!

| Hi Tim, I know you weren't responding to my post but can you give me advice as well? After March 15th I'll only have 2 more payments left on my current lease. In your opinion, should pull the plug and lease a murano since it's fiscal year end? I'm just so worried mf rates will go up, not down even though cars are not selling. I do know muranos are only down 8% in January as composed to all the other cars in Nissan's fleet. I would rather "lose" the last 2 months of my current lease vs being financed out of a murano. Please advise, I also know that it's just your opinion and won't hold you to your opinion. Thanks! |
I tend to agree with you on this one, loose the last two months of your current lease. I did that when I bought my Armada last year. My lease wasn't up until the beginning of April, but I found the exact Armada I wanted, at an AMAZING price, so I jumped on that. With the fiscal year end close, I would work the best deal possible, and pull the trigger on that.

The Nissan dealer holdback percentage is 2% of the total invoice.

MSRP he quoted was $36,5xx, he met my internet deal from another dealer at $33,600 which included TTL. I have a trade in that brought it down to $30, 600..I did also ask if he can knock more off and meet me anywhere from $28-$29,000 and he met me and quoted $29,000 which includes TTL. I would think that you could probably find one closer to you and avoid the shipping charge. Also, that seem like quite a bit down on a lease, personally when I lease I never put down more than $1000 at signing. If you drive it off the lot and total it, you are out basically whatever cash you put down. Good luck!

I leased a new 2009 Murano LE, Deep Sapphire (Blue) exterior, black leather interior. Options included were: Navigation Package, Dual Moonroof, Splash Guards, and Floor Mats. MSRP was $40,495 including the $780 Destination Charge. My price was $36,091 plus TTL. There were no dealership add-ons. Did a 36 month lease and the lease factor equates to a 3.7% interest rate.
I asked several local dealers for bids via email, and this was the lowest price by about $900. The Nissan dealer also agreed to handle the lease-return on my Infiniti FX so I was able to drive away in my new Murano. Total time at dealership was 2 hours. Very professional, no pressure in the sales area or in the finance office. A pleasant buying experience all around.
The Murano seems to sit a bit higher than my '06 FX, and ride is quieter and smoother. So far I'm very satisfied. I really like the fact that you can use voice activation to enter an address into the Nav system WHILE MOVING!

It is possible to do further negotiations once you go in but it's much more difficult at that point unless you are already very good at negotiating. I think a lot of the Internet sales managers will expect you to pay the price you agreed to via email. If anything, you should be careful that they don't ask you to pay more by offering you rust protection packages, special fabric coatings, miscellaneous fees and the like. That sometimes turns some very good Internet deals sour on arrival. Especially since many use the Internet to deal because it is a much easier non-pressure environment vs being "on the spot" in the dealership.

Black on Beige
- Splash Guards
- Sunroof
- Floor Mats
- Cargo Area Protector
- Illuminated Door Sills
- Black Roof Rail Cross Bars
- Navigation
- Permaplate
- Window Tint
- Wheel Locks
The dealer said they lost $700 on the deal. What do you think? Did I get a good deal? I got wheel/tire insurance because I've been hearing about the difficulty tracking down tires for $8/month.
MSRP - $41,060
Purchase Price - $36,100
Came with just over 350 miles on the car. I refused to take one with over 1000 miles with similarly priced.
I'm always one for buyer's remorse...so input is appreciated.

He tried telling me the SL was the same as the LE as I had it configured (loaded except for the DVD players in the headrests). I disagreed.
I ended up financing a total of 32K having given them my 04 Pathfinder in trade (with 4K equity).
After a year of driving this beauty I know I made a good deal. BTW, did the tire deal include protection for the rims?

You got a good deal, no question about that, but I don't believe for one minute that the dealer lost any money on the deal. You truly did get a good deal, I would have passed on the tire insurance, but then again, $8/month isn't terrible either. Enjoy the ride and welcome to NICOclub! 09 Deep Sapphire SL AWD
Black Leather
Tech/Premium Package
Moon Roof
This Murano had an MSRP of $36,537...A bit of some haggling and a trade in I got the Murano for $30,876 out the door. Myself I think I got a good deal and I love this car...
Post Title: Re: Murano Price Paid / New LE

Options are:
Moonroof
Illuminated door sills
Roof rail cross bars
and basics like Splash gards, Floor Mats, Cargo Area protector
MSRP was 38535.00
Price paid was 33,704
Final price after title, admin fee, and them having a remote starter added (they split the cost) was 34,301. They didn't install it, they use a place that they've approved, seeing the complexity of the starting options on the LE.
It had around 400 miles on it, and I was told it had been in their inventory for a few months and they wanted to get it sold. Got the 2.9 finance rate, so overall, I'm real pleased.
One question I have is if I build this vehicle on the nissan website, or do new vehicle pricing on edmunds, the MSRP with these options is 39,925.
I'm not complaining, I'm looking at it as getting a close to 40K MSRP for around 34K, unless I'm missing something.

First off, welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you as a member of the Murano Forum!
I ended up purchasing from Rosen Nissan in Gurnee Illinois. Woodfield Nissan in Schaumburg quoted got down to $35,500, Rosen beat it by $100, I then sent an e-mail back to Woodfield, but they stopped responding, so I purchased from Rosen. Brad was the internet guy I bought from. They did have the exact vehicle I purchased in their hands, that makes a difference. Good luck, keep us posted as to how things turn out!

1- Murano SL With every package except Navigation.. Lease price = $435/month inckuding tax (only problem with this package is its practically impossible to find the SL Loaded With Black on Black. I can only find them with the tan interior and im a very outdoor person and it would look filthy inside in a month.
2- Murano LE With everything except Navigation.. Lease price = $498/month (I can find the LE in any color I want)
3- Murano LE with Everything (40k msrp).. Lease price = $518/month
All the lease prices above are including tax based on 39 months with 1k miles per month and no money down except bank fee, plates, and first month payment.
If i go with any of the the LE's I would probably also get the Tire/Wheel insurance for $700 (fully covers me on tires and wheels) Supposedly they bring and put on your fresh tire the next day. I live in nyc where busting a tire in a pothole (expecially low profiles) will happen 3-4 times a year on avg. Probably gonna go through 8-12 tires through a 39 month lease. So i think the $700 would be justified, and I also like that it covers the rims.
Any suggestions?

Unless you are seeing tax advantages (ie your Mo will be used for business purposes) by renting, my suggestion is to save up to make a down payment and just buy your car. Even if you can't save the full price and have to finance, rates are very low these days. But the big advantage is that you have something to show for your hard earned $$ after you receive the title a few years down the road.
JM (and most financial advisors) HO, of course.

I just leased a 2009 Nissan Murano SL (AWD). Black with Beige Leather Interior:
- Premium Package
- Technology Package
- Navigation Package
- Leather Package
- Dual Moonroof
- Sticker: $38,565
- Negotiated price: ?
- Lease Price: $489.00 per month
- Down Pymt: $3,000
- 39 Months, 12,000 miles per year
Well, I thought I got a great deal, until a read some of the posts above. My brother had leased 2 Muranos since 2004. His 2007 lease for 39 mos. has a monthly payment of $489.00. So when I went in to the dealership, they gave me the impression they were giving me a steal by giving me the same monthly payment my brother is paying on his 2007 SL.
Also, I want to make note that the $489 mo. payment was for "No Navigation." This price was quoted on everything listed above, minus the Navigation. When they told me my car came in they said, they only could locate one with Navigation, but at no extra charge to me. But, I am still thinking I may have paid to much. Oh well, I still love my car and just figuring out the whole Ipod connection issue. I think I will go for a drive now! LOL!

Point is that as a buy I can either keep it at the end of the term or sell it at anytime that it makes sense to me. Does your payment include tax? I've leased a number of vehicles at a $0 down with decent monthly payments, but just like rent vs. a mortgage, at the end of the day you have only receipts to show... Just my $.02...
I do love the car though

So, I'm wondering if I should continue my pursuit for happiness (a $450 lease), or stick with what I got for a few more months and see what happens when the 2010 models are announced? Without looking in a crystal ball though I have no idea if the co$t will be any different (msrp).
Thoughts?

| Hi, I'm in Westport as well. Where did you buy? How much did you pay in a 2-car deal? My brother and I are thinking of a 2-car deal as well. Got a price of $49,500 for 2 LEs with everything except DVD system. This INCLUDES 2 trades of 2 Infinity QX4s with about 50,000 miles each on them. Dealer (Miller in Fairfield) gave us $7000 each for the QX4s. So I guess when you add back the trades, we are getting the 2 cars for $63,500 ($49,500 + $14,000). Is this a good deal? |
Wow, that isn't very many miles on a QX4, 50k?

Thanks for the tips I've read on here. After weeks of emails back and forth across the state of Texas, and quite a bit beyond, we have what I consider a deal that can't be beat.
2009 LE dual moonroof and nav, MSRP $41,300, Invoice $37,900, Offer $32,600+TTL. We nearly bought on the last day of last month to get the financing but the purchase prices were just right at invoice at that point, so we held out hoping the financing would roll over. If it's what they say it is, we'll be picking her up next week.

Wow that seems like an incredible deal! A few buyers get a good deal at 2-3k below invoice. You have an offer for over 5000 below invoice which is incredible. I would jump on it. A dealer in queens ny wouldnt even consider less than 1500 under msrp never mind this incredible offer! If and when you pick it up be sure to post where you bought it from and good luck!

Plus, I was able to get the exact color (Merlot) with every bell and whistle for a great price. Nav, Tech, Leather, Premium, Moonroof....all for $31700. I lost a couple of grand on my trade, but I save $1200 in taxes I would have paid had I not traded it in.
Anyway, I absolutely love the car. Transmission is a dream, and handling is superb given that now I ride as high as all the full size SUVs that used to almost squish me in the G.

I am in the process of purchasing a fully loaded 2009 Murano LE.It is to include all options and accessories for the Murano including the Nav system and Moon Roof. The MSRP quoted was $41,790.00. After negotiation, the dealer gave me a price of $35,400.00. I am getting a $6,500.00 trade in allowance for a 2003 Altima SE edition. I am also putting $9,500.00 cash down. Payment terms negotiated are 2.9% for 60 months which leaves a monthly payment of $355.00 per month. This is the fifth new Nissan I purchased from this dealer so I did have significant leverage. Last July I purchased a new 2008 Armada LE fully loaded and paid cash for it. So when I walked in the door the sales manager new exactly who I was. I simply said to him this was our first stop looking for a new car for my wife and he had to make me a deal I couldn't walk away from. In all it took about 5 hours of negotiation to reach this agreement. It appears now they are unable to locate what we want and are looking into ordering one from the factory. My wife and I reallylove Nissan vehicles. In the past we have also had a 2005 Pathfinder LE and a 2003 Exterra. PS: It is now June 1st at 5pm. I just received a call from the dealer that I negotiated this deal with. He informed me that if he doesn't locate a vehicle for me by 9pm tonight the deal is off and I should go somewhere else. Wow, that sucks the dealer told you that, I would certainly take my business elsewhere if they don't come up with your vehicle. I own an '08 Armada and we owned an '09 Murano for many months, we sold it because my wife missed having a fast car (she came out of a G35), of course now we have a 3.5 Altima. Let us know if the dealer comes through for you on their deal. GOOD LUCK!

She liked the Murano and the only other car we test drove was the Toyota Venza which neither of us liked very much at all (and looked like it was going to be more expensive with the options that we wanted).
The car we wanted:
2009 Nissan Murano SL 2WD (black exterior/beige interior)
MSRP - $35,925.00
Online Price - ~$31,200 + taxes/fees (I think)
Specs - Splash guards, moonroof, premium package, technology package, and leather package.
Our price - $30,500 out-the-door
We bought the car in Statesville, NC. This was our first car purchase as a couple, and the first time I've ever been involved in a new car purchase at a dealership. It did take us visiting six dealerships in the area and getting pricing from another six, but I think the overall experience was a good one.
Post Title:

MSRP (All CDN Dollars):
Base: $47498
Paint (Glacier Pearl): $300
Mats: $124
PDI: $1500
Protection Pkg: $600
Total: $50022
When all was said and done, we paid right around $44750 plus 5% GST - we wrote a cheque (figuratively speaking) for $47000 CDN all in. In essence we received a $5500 CDN discount.
Right now the latest information I have from my source for invoice pricing is that Nissan Canada is offering a $1500 rebate to dealer, and also a $4000 non-stackable (I assume this means it can't be used with any other offer) factory rebate to dealer. Both expire 30-June-2009. I'm guessing that means that a consumer could walk in and get at least a $4000 discount without even negotiating...could be a really good deal if you're prepared to grind the salesman a bit.
Our dealer was Mills Nissan, one of three in the Edmonton area. The internet sales guy at West End Nissan tried to bend me over a fence, and if I ever have to deal with Ericksen Nissan/Infiniti again it will be too soon.

Bought used with only 8K miles. $26,500. Thinking we did OK, it is used but is immaculate and had a few accessories installed such as vent visors, hood bug deflector and some chrome dress up. Deep sapphire with beige leather. Regards. |

I e-mailed about 15 dealerships in the region and came up with the lowest price of $31,783 for SL AWD 360 package.
I've been working with a dealer in my city that has said he would beat my best offer by $500. So my price would be $31,283. How does that sound?
Now we're just looking for the right color combination - they seem to be fairly rare, so I might be waiting for a while!
Does anyone know how the dealer-to-dealer trade works?
Thanks!

Murano SL AWD with 360 package (premium, leather, everything but navi)
Merlot with beige interior (everything else was charcoal, but I wanted beige!)
MSRP $36,375
Internet Price $31,783 (included rebate of $1500)
Final Price of $33,283
I did not take the rebate as it was more advantageous to take the 2.9%APR. Kind of wish I would have paid cash - would have saved me almost $4000! But I want my money in the bank!
So, I know many of you got better deals, but I needed a car now and no one was really willing to haggle because of the Murano shortage. Timing is everything! But I still love my girl!!!!

These numbers are ballparked by me, not the dealer. They haven't given me any numbers yet.
Options:
J02 (360 degree pkg, must include X01/K01)
X01 (Leather)
K01 (Premium)
Lease Term - 39 months
Mileage - 15000/yr
Agreed upon value - $32,000 (this should include Destination, dealer fees, registration, -$500 factory incentive, etc)
Down - $1,000
Money Factor - .00270 (best guess)
Residual - 53% (I think this is accurate on a 39 month/15K mile lease)
NJ Tax Rate 7%
Lease Rate - $535/mo (if I calculated correctly)
According to Nissan Financing, I'm Tier 0(excellent credit), and I'm a returning NMAC customer. Should I be able to get a better money factor or any other type of reduction?
Does this sound reasonable? Are my numbers close? Anyone have a breakout like this to compare to?

Here's what I got:
Murano SL AWD (09)
Premium Package
Leather Package
Splash guards and all that jazz
for $29k.
This was in January, and car dealerships have def. been hurting MUCH more recently. In fact for the exact same car, I had offered a different dealership 24k, and they accepted the offer in June (5 months too late sadly).
So you can def. get them to go lower.

Don't know what gives, but it seems the dealers are very unwilling to deal. Could this be caused the cash 4 clunkers program? If a customer goes in with a $4500 they'd be more than willing to pay sticker?
Or is it that the Muranos are in short supply now (or so they claim)?

Fabulous deal on the Murano purchase!!!
Keep in mind, you will contact a lot of dealers, and there will probably be more that DON'T respond than dealers that do. You can also call dealers. BE VERY SPECIFIC about what what you want, and when you are going to do it.....trust me, it works! Hope this helps, good luck!!!

Anyone have experience negotiating with the Cash for Clunkers program? My wife is in love with the Murano and the 93 J30 she has been driving since 96 is just about spent. I went to one dealer yesterday and got a huge song and dance about how hard these cars are to get and they are flying off dealer lots. Anyway the deal I was offered is not very good and searching online there does not seem to be a shortage of vehicles in my area. My wife wants leather so we need to get the PP. The car the dealer closest to me has is optioned with leather, PP and 360 degree. I think the MSRP is 35,915 there is a 500 rebate. They are at 33,995. Is it unreasonable for me to expect to buy this car for a max of 31,000?
It seems that the dealer wants to use the Cash for Clunkers money instead of negotiating. Silly me was thinking they would do both.

Welcome to the Murano Forum! Glad to have you as a new member of NICOclub!
The key here is to find another dealer with a vehicle you are interested in purchasing that you would also be willing to purchase from. See what they can do for you. I think you could get the vehicle down to the $32,000ish range. $31K might be a bit too low. The Murano 360 pkg is pretty hot right now.

The Murano is currently the 5th most difficult vehicle to find, especially with the great deals on the 360 model. Those have been selling really well!

Tinted Bronze w/beige interior
FWD
Leather Package
Premium Package
Tech Package
Navigation Package
Dual Panel Moonroof
Splash Guards
Floor Mats
The MSRP was $37,795 and the invoice was $34,445. I paid $33,245 plus TTL. The dealer threw in a free oil change and 3 year ding/dent removal.
The "Customer Cash Adjusted True Market Value" for this car in my zip code is listed @ $34,170 and the TrueCar data for this configuration in my zip code claims that a "great" price is less than $34,712. I feel like it was a pretty decent deal but that's really subjective I guess.

I am new to the forums and was wondering if you guys could help me out.
Looking to buy a new 09 Murano S or SL in Canada (Calgary / Alberta) and wondering if anyone here has some information on pricing I should be expecting. Now I haven't quite decided on the S or SL or options yet, so any information on Both would be great help.

- 2009 Nissan Murano SL AWD; Tinted Bronze Ext, Black Leather Int.
- Premium Package, Leather Package, 360 Value Package, Mats & Guards
- Total MSRP $35,925; Invoice $32,906
- Purchased for $32,406
- 3.9% for 72 months
An excellent buying experience at Hudson Nissan in Jersey City, NJ. Last weekend of the month. Came in looking for an SL with just the Premium Package and mats, without the 360 and leather. They had none but this made them work harder to move their current stock. I love the value of the additional features - bluetooth, xm, ipod interface, dual roofs, leather - vs. the additional price paid.

The dealer is offering $29,500. Is this a good deal?

27k miles on an 09 Murano?? That car has been driven quite darn lot already ...
Also since it doesn't have nav and all that jazz, I would expect the price to be much MUCH lower.
You can probably get a NEW Murano with the options you want for around 32-33k if you negotiate well.
I would recommend go to http://www.autobrag.com -- and search for your vehicle there. That's the site I used to get my Murano. You'll be surprised how much you can haggle
Also this is the beginning of the month -- try waiting till the end of the month and you'll save a crap load more.

Not to rain on your parade (so to type) but I'd be suspicious of a Mo that needed new tires at that low mileage. Unless of course, the tires were just worn enough that the seller figured he'd better his resale chances just by putting new ones on. Still, it's the same reason I'm always suspicious of cars that have been professionally detailed before they are resold.
I know that at only 43K miles, my Mo could have easily been resold with the original tires.
Anyway, good luck with the car.

I've just been quoted the following for a new Murano (I'm actually looking to buy 2 at once, both SL w/360/prem/leather, if that makes a difference). Any thoughts on this pricing?
<<The 2009 Nissan Murano SL w/360 and Premium Package has an MSRP of $34,460. Your preffered Fleet/Internet price is $30,485!
*price includes rebate. Does not include tax, title and DMV fees >> I believe the CA rebate is only $500 now but will need to get that confirmed
Thanks!

The car had 35 miles on it, about 31 of which my wife and I put on during an extended (read sans salesperson) test drive. My sales guy was new, this was his first week and we were his first sale, ever! Of course he had an experienced (an fairly nice) manager backing him up.
Thanks to every here for all the great info that helped make my purchase so great!

| Just bought my Murano for the wife tonight! - 2009 Nissan Murano SL FWD; Platinum Graphite Ext, Black Leather Int. - Premium Package, Leather Package, 360 Value Package, Accessory Value Package (Black Roof Rail Crossbars, Illuminated Door Sills), Floor Mats, Splash Guards, Rear Bumper Protector, and Cargo Protector (and dividers) - Total MSRP $34,665 - Invoice $31,698 - Purchased for $30,300 ($1000 & $500 rebates, $2855 discount) - Dealer had added $380 worth of crap including carpet protection ($5 floor mats for $110), nitrogen filled tires ($99) and wheel locks ($169) which was included at no charge! - I was preapproved for 4.69% from my CU (best rate in town, their best tier) for 72 mos. My $1000 cash rebate from Nissan precluded 3.9% financing from Nissan but the lower APR w/o the $1k cash was $5/mo more anyway. - I threw the F&I guy a bone and took the Paintless dent repair for 36 mos for $199 (offered at $444) and the Roadside for 36 mos for $215 (offered for $469 ish). The Roadside includes KEY replacement w/no deductible!!! Limited to one key per year, so that's three keys for $215!!! The car had 35 miles on it, about 31 of which my wife and I put on during an extended (read sans salesperson) test drive. ... White pearl color beige inside The real deal they offered is dealer invoice+ 300$ registration, new plates+ sales tax.
This is the best I could find after talking with 4 dealers and sending emails to 5 dealerships in a 200 miles area for price quotes, nobody wants to go under dealer invoice because there is a high demand for this car (
quote " I can not sell you this car under dealer invoice because that means that I will have to put money from my own pocket")
So it seems that the OTD price with all the taxes, registration etc will be some hundred $ under the listed MSRP.
*Another dealerships wanted 500$ on top of dealer invoice (they were saying that they already found the car but they have to pay somebody to go after the car because it was in another dealership 700 miles away) so I said no.
*It is not clear for me if some dealerships already have them, because some told me that they found the 2010 that I want but it is some hundred miles away, others told me that this is a lie because the 2010 listed as available on Nissan website are listed over there only because they placed orders and they are waiting for them and nobody has any 2010 in their parking lots yet.
*Now I am waiting for the car to be built and shipped

WANTED a 09' Murano like yours........always have question like this: when people says "Purchased for $32,500" do you mean Out Of Door Price or just selling price (before TTL) ?
I got a quote from a Nissan dealer in NJ 2 weeks ago:
MSRP $35925
Selling price 30160
We walked in then the sale threw me about $2000 fees ! plus another $ 2000 tax....final price=34000.....so we walked away.....I could have made a deal like 33,500 out of door. Anybody think its a good deal ? THANKS !

$2000 in fees is BS, contact a few other dealers and you will be comfortable with the best price.
