Post Title: High Pressure Power Steering Hoses for the Masses!
Posted by: DJButton at 7:08 PM 1/21/2008

High quality, high pressure, power steering lines! A fine new product of Fujii SPL!

First off, what is the high pressure line? (for those who aren't familiar)
The high pressure power steering hose, connects your power steering pump to your PS rack, it also is the notorious weak link in the power steering system, over time the hose breaks down and leaks, resulting in the weekly PS reservoir refills. (If you've been there, it's not fun)

Well, help is on the way!
Fujii SPL is now offering you new replacement lines! These lines are stronger, will last longer and don't cost an arm and leg!

Alright the dirty details, Specs and Pictures:

The lines can be made to work with whatever engine you have including extra *90 bends less/more length etc.

Lines are rated at 5000PSI, double the rating of the other aftermarket lines! That's the running pressure, spike pressure is four times that amount!

Connect straight to your power steering rack without the need for that extra hard-line!

Pricing is as follows:

SOHC $85.00 Shipped!
Straight from the pump to the rack on the other side! Deletes the sensor like the DOHC line does, very easy install right over the front of the engine and not down over the pulley like the stock line does.

DOHC-SR-RB-X Specify when Ordering please.
$75.00 Shipped!
Deletes the sensor and extra hard line and goes straight to the rack (the sensor increases your idle when at full steering lock, not a necessary sensor and most cars with engine swaps do not use it anyway)

LS1 to S Chassis Swap Line
$100.00 Shipped!

Stainless Steel braided for KA/SR/RB
$100.00 Shipped!

PayPal is preferred so please add in an extra 3.0% on all orders when paying with PayPal. To set up different payment methods please e-mail us at sales@fujiispl.com (that is also our PayPal account address for payment)

PAYPAL ADDRESS IS sales@fujiispl.com

Pictures:

Here are some pictures of the line that goes straight to the rack, off of an RB pump! SR/KA pumps the line will bolt directly to the back of the banjo fitting on your pump not the top of the pump.

Man, you're the 3rd person to say! Guess I was a week too late in advertising. Be sure to pass it on if you hear of other people in need though, these are pretty inexpensive compared to most.

Ummm if you're leaking now, having a fully filled PS system would make it steer better.

Mine spring a huge leak yesterday so you posted this just in time. I called Carisma to see what they will charge for one. I got a feeling its gonna be alot more than from you so Ill let you know.

Are they ready to ship when I purchase one (like within the day or next)? I need one for a stock 92 hatch. Are those prices inc. shipping? If not, how much is S/H?

Yes, shipping is included for now, once I've shipped out a few and get a feel for the cost, if it's a ton more I'll have to add it in, but for now the lucky first customers get free shipping!

Ish, I'd have to get a good idea as to what the SE-R/NX one looked like, and find out what size fittings to use etc, basically would need an OEM to replicate with our line. If you can get me one or the specs on the fittings, and length of it and some good pictures of the set-up, I'll be sure and give you a hefty discount on the first one we can come up with!

yehh... im just waiting for that next paycheck to come in...
but as far as deleting that sensor would that make that much of a performance difference? Just the idle when turning... but it wouldnt make it stall tho right? I see that the line goes all the way to the other side of the engine bay and loops back for no apparent reason?

No one I know even runs the sensor and between SR's RB's and stock KA's none of us have ever had an issue, so you should be all set! The hardline loops over to the other side of the rack but the high pressure line just goes straight down to the forward hardline. If you do get one without the sensor then you'll want to remove that little hardline as our new lines go straight to the rack itself right below the steering shaft, I'll have pics up tomorrow of the new line too.

Got mine and it looks perfect. Don't have it installed yet but when I get it done, Ill post to let everyone know how it went.

This guy is great to deal with. If you need PS lines, don't hesitate to order from him.

Thanks man. As soon as I get the new line on, Ill return the old sensor.

How much to ship to the hampton, va 23666 area? Mines leak pretty bad, have to refill it like every to weeks, using the lucas kinda slows it lol. So on the ka motor by deleting the sensor, would idle drop when I turn? Just like in one of the post don't want the car to stall if not ill take the one without the sensor lol.

I'll send an email soon.

$65, shipping is free for now untill I get the prices set, so lucky you! Like I've told people, I've had my car on the road since August without the sensor, and honestly never noticed it was gone, I don't even know anyone who has the sensor still, so... basically it doesn't do a whole lot anyway!
I just got the line straight to the rack installed on mine tonight and it looks and works great if I do say so myself, I'll take some better pictures of it tomorrow!

Yea the sensor delete one. Thanks, will post pics after i get it and install. So how fair does it hold against heat?

Post Title: Re: High Pressure Power Steering Hoses for the Masses! (d3vilskid)
Posted by: DJButton at 10:12 AM 2/3/2008

For a stock engine, should be fine as is, for top mounted turbo's or stock turbo set-ups on SR/RB's also will be fine, for a bottom mounted turbo, or anything set-up that nearly grazes the hose or comes within 1-3 inches of it, wrapping the hose is probably a good idea. The hose itself should hold up very well against heat, espcially since it drops pretty low to clear everything, but better safe then sorry.

aite ahaa i wasn't worried bout it just wanted peace of mind. Ima wrap it up anyways just to be on the safe side(maybe). No turbo for me but high comp.

You're better off getting new vacuum hose from an auto parts store or Home Depot and some new clips for the soft lines, but I can certainly do up a high pressure line for the CA!

when swaping in a sr20 in a sohc 240, i know u need dohc ps lines or bend the sohc lines

...if i buy this ps line, do i still need to buy the dohc lines, or does this take care of everything?

You'll still need the DOHC lines, which are need to reverse the side on which the high pressure ties in. If you had the engine in and wanted to provide some measurements I could probably make a line fit to length that would work though.

hmm ill check it out
thanks
plus... i tried looking for a thread to wire up those 180sx turn signals but i couldnt find anything
they are the turn signals and the side markers right in one piece right?
so you would have to just splice into the wires from the sidemarkers on the fender and run them to that bumper light housing, right? assuming that i am keeping the OEM siemarkers...

If it's the hose that's leaking then yes, it appears it would fix it, problem is I haven't been able to get a line made for the SOHC PS system yet. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif" BORDER="0">

Good deal man, glad you like it. Keep in mind too that none of the fitting's are torqued down yet too. (except the ones that are clamped to the hose obviously) so don't forget to tighten them all down when you install.

BUMP! Update to the hoses offered and also keep in mine almost any specific specs you want with your hose I can do, providing I have all the info I need.

Thanks for the business as always,
Hope to help out more of you in the future.

By the way, if you just put in an order or are waiting on line still I have a couple orders going out in the next couple days, so it will be to you shortly.

Yeah, good for you! Finally someone with an install picture, looks like I could go a little shorter for the KA lines, but not too bad, glad you got it in man! I still desperatly need one sensor peice, too much work to keep selling them, but I'm still in need of one to get this poor guys line sent out to him, would be great to get it from you.

Thanks

ok will do but how do i take off the sensor from the hard line?

Post Title: Re: High Pressure Power Steering Hoses for the Masses! (d3vilskid)

There is a flare nut, just like on a brake line that slides along the hardline into the sensor peice. Should be a 10mm nut a brake line wrench works best or c-angle wrench, because it doesn't strip it usually. Either that or if you don't need the hardline, just bend it back and forth a few times and it will snap off and I'll just take care of it. Whatever works for you.

So I finally sprung one of those leaks:

resulting in the weekly PS reservoir refills. (If you've been there, it's not fun)

So its time to delete the sensor and replace the OEM line with something maybe a bit better... But to be honest I've been waiting for a reason to pick one of these up to get my maint. out of the way.

So I'll paypal you $75 for the new line, seeing as I'm going to be deleting the sensor are you interested in me shipping it to you? Obviously I won't need it anymore.

btw its for a DOHC KA...

I can send a block off nut to get rid of that line, but this high pressure line wont get rid of that, it get's rid of the other hardline that comes forward about a foot for the sensor and up to the pump.
That line that recirc's is the factory PS cooler, not much of one, but it gives you a little more fluid capacity and moves it around some more.

Will definitely start doing tracking numbers as one guy in California is still yet to recieve his and I'm sending him another, very uncool.

For those of you who are also waiting but I haven't told you it was shipped yet that's because I'm STILL waiting on fittings, I guess the supplier of my supplier was waiting on them or something ridiculous like that. Anyhow I will post up/email you as soon as they have been shipped.

As always, thanks for the patience and most of all the business! It's always nice to hear good reviews when your're a brand new company. Now selling DMAX and Supermade products by the way, e-mail for qoutes on anything and will have a webpage up soon!

E-mails aren't going thru then or something man, I check at least twice a day. Anyhow, there ended up being a huge wait on fittings for the lines and all sorts of crap went sideways, just got 20 lines in the other day and sent out. Anyone who was waiting should be seeing it mid next week.

Again, terribly sorry for the wait, it was unavoidable. I believe there are three of you still waiting and I do apologize. I'm now having everything pre-made so I can just turn around and ship it when it's ordered. 10 lines in stock right now, so no worries. I'll have tracking numbers on Monday so USPS can't screw me over and lose them again.

Thanks again everyone,
DJ

Yo, still haven't done one for a SOHC, have a friend coming Saturday though with a SOHC and planning on measuring it out then. it will delete the sensor as the other lines do as well, and straight to the rack most likely. Oh and $75 shipped for the line.

Yo, still haven't done one for a SOHC, have a friend coming Saturday though with a SOHC and planning on measuring it out then. it will delete the sensor as the other lines do as well, and straight to the rack most likely. Oh and $75 shipped for the line.

Great to hear Dan! Hope it works out well. Will it come with instructions too on installation? Just thought id ask since ive never had anything that needed replacing other than a radiator hose . Ill be sending in payment next week thursday.

Hey man, I'm really interested in a high pressure line for a ka24de. Problem is I'm kind of on a time frame and I would need the lines asap. Can you shoot me an email at llim3@uiuc.edu with how long you think you could fabricate a line and have it shipped out to Chicago? Thanks a lot!

Thanks! Cant wait to get it. Seems like the leak is getting bigger so im doing more refills than necessary. Damn it, why do SOHC parts have to cost more than DOHC ones Also checked out your site. Any plans to sell the Dmax tail lights for the fast back? I dont see it listed anywhere thats why.

We're still getting the site set-up, we can get the whole DMAX line-up so most likely they just haven't been added yet.

I have a 1990 240SX. I have a rusted out leak in my power steering line (steel) mounted directly on the power steering rack. This is not the line to or from the pump. There are two steel lines on the rack itself. I guess I should replace both of them.

Where can I get these replacement steel lines?

Took my car out for a spin today, come home and as i'm finaggling it into it's parking spot my line blows out.
Pop the hood and there's fluid spraying out of the split hose.
First thought.... $H!T
Second thought.... I think DJ has high pressure hoses.....

Sending you paypal tonight along with my specs. Sooner you can ship it the better. Couple days won't hurt, gotta clean the engine bay + my driveway.

Hey Dan,

Glad to do business with you! The instructions you sent to me i guess were similar to the DOHC lines so i guess its clear and unclear at the same time being that it just states placement of the line itself. Hope you can get install pics up soon so i can try and follow them.

Happy that i got to help push you into fabricating these lines for SOHC engine owners like myself as im sure others will appreciate the time and effort you took into making these. Just need to ask though. Would it be necessary to put teflon tape or maybe additional o-rings to help make for an air tight seal?

Yo DJ!!
Just wanted to let you know i got the line in today. Obviously it's a major improvement considering i can drive my car again.

Installation sucks though. I've got the JGS manifold and downpipe and it took me awhile to figure out how i wanted to route the line to fit everything.
What i did was hook the line into the DOHC's factory 90* off the pump, but use the straight fitting, so it goes straight back towards the fire wall, then i looped the line around, ziptied it to the brake line over there, and did a twisted 180* using the elbow you'd included.
Fits like a dream now, i hope it's far enough from the turbo + manifold to not cause any problems.

Worse part was installing it onto the rack. I found the easiest way was to first put in the fitting that goes into the rack. Then tighten the 90* elbow onto the 90* end of the line(at the proper angle of course). This way you can still reach around the tie rod boot and tighten the 90*'s end onto the rack fitting.
Thanks again!

Posted by: DJButton at 9:07 PM 9/5/2008

Yup, the rack fitting sucks, no way around it. I've never done one for a KA-T set-up before, I made it a little long hoping it would reach. Sorry it was such a pain to get in there, the lines are meant to be bolted to the back of the stock fitting on the top of the pump, sorry didn't mention that, I should add it to this thread I guess.
Anyhow, glad you got it and have the car back on the road!

Hey guy got a couple of questions i wanted to ask. I was looking at the high pressure line going from the pump to the rack and was wondering about something. Looks like theres two bolts going to the rack. which hole do i need to fit the line into? the one on the left or the one on the right looking from underneath the car? also the line *doesnt* look long enough to go from the pump to the rack and was wondering if i need to connect the line to the fitting where the sensor is connected to or does it by pass that straight to the rack like Dan says it does?

Second. what size socket do i need to loosen the bolt holding down the old line from the pump? looks like a 23 mm? feels pretty tight too so i was wondering if it would be a good idea to use some sort of penetrating lubricant. its for a SOHC s13 btw. Anyone got pics of the install? thanks for any advice!

Dan if you get a chance to read this, help please?

Rob,
Just now saw this, sorry about that. The line connects to the factory banjo fitting on the pump and is then routed around front of the engine just above the A/C or where A/C would be and bolts directly into the rack. We did fit one onto a car first to make sure it worked and everything bolted up smoothly. I thought that bolt was a 22mm but I may be mistaken.

Totally missed your post, sorry man. That looped line is just for cooling, so it loops in front to give more fluid capacity and cooling. Best bet for that is to use OEM hardlines. Or really go overkill (on a street car at least) and replace that with an actual PS cooler. I can't remember the size off the top of my head though.

oh hey well if you have everything that would be the way to go. basically i dont have any thing for PS right now besides the DOHC rack that is i nthe car. and i think a few of the lines are broken and cut off. so i would need basically every single line for it. i hope my rack is good. i may have to pull it apart and redo the seals.

so how mcuh would it run for the pump and everything.

Ben,
Say $150 for the pump and line and bracket for the pump if you need it? You'll still need a belt for pump and the hardlines that just loop in front of the rack, they're like an external fluid cooler for the PS system, so if you just want to skip them for now I can send you the two block off plugs for them as well.

Eric, thanks for the kind words, glad it's held up to the KA-Tinsanity abuse!

Was wondering if you have any hoses available for the Murano?

This is my first time on this forum so not really familiar with the paying and ordering system. (I have used paypal in the past)

Thanks for your time and help.

Hey. I just found you online. I have a 06 Nissan Murano and have a leak in the high pressure power steering hose (the dealership was going to charge $455 to replace).

Was wondering if you have any hoses available for the Murano?

This is my first time on this forum so not really familiar with the paying and ordering system. (I have used paypal in the past)

Thanks for your time and help.

Wes

Wes,
90% sure I could make one of the Murano lines, only problem is I would need to actually use a factory one to know what fittings I needed on each end and the length of the hose etc. If you feel comfortable with sending me the leaking line that's on the car and letting me work off of that, I would give you half off for the new line and send the old line back too. Paypal is my prefered method of payment as well. Least hassles and very trusted.

Sure thing I can do that no problem. $75 shipped.

Not sure on CA fitment, think you could get me some good pictures of it? Or better yet shoot me an e-mail at danielbutton@live.com I'd love to be able to start doing CA lines as well. Should be very doable.

got my line 1 or 2 days after payment (quick), and all i can say is DAMN.

this puts the 2 used dohc KA lines to shame, and i wish i had done it right the first time and just ordered this to begin with. $$ well worth it.

i am using it on an RB swap in an S13.

I tried the tracking number and couldn't get it to work either, I'll double check the address and tracking number. But either way I spent $26 overnighting the line to you and since it's not there yet I except a full refund from the PO as it was insured for $100.

I ship out with USPS 2-3 Priority, so takes 2-3 days. Heh. Total is around $78.00 with shipping and paypal fees. Just specify which engine you need it for when you order. Payments can be sent to dan@fujiispl.com. Also if you pay after 12PM on Saturday, line wont be sent out until Monday obviously.
Thanks!

I would imagine that it needs to be longer then, since PS and rack port are on opposite sides now. Should cost $85, is there any way you could get an approx. measurement for me?

Glad to hear! We just installed a Vr. II line yesterday, which are stainless braided for those who like the bling, and it works great! It is a messy job for sure though, especially on the rack side.

Nope, this line is slightly longer then factory actually to accommodate for turbocharged motors, so its not losing much capacity or cooling. The stock "cooler" line front of the cross member stays, just the high pressure line is replaced. Total with paypal fees is $77 shipped.

Hey, I know that you mentioned that you are out of stock with the SOHC power steering lines. Any idea when you might get some more in? I am looking for a replacement for mine within a month's time or so. Thanks, and awesome work!

If you have a 240, and you DON'T have one of these lines, your car sucks.

Just installed mine - SO damn cool. Nice work, Deej!

Haven't done a 2JZ line yet, would need to know the fitting size on the pump first. But besides that, I can do it no problem.

I'm also looking for a Murano line - 2005. I'm seeing lots of complaints of these failing around 35K miles. I can't really be without my old one cause I need it til I get a new one.

Would love to have one of yours. Any other way to get it done?

Thanks

Jadoon,

In order to make an M30 line we need the factory line. We have no way of replicating the hardline section with the proper fittings, so we have to use that part of the old one. If you want to send us the factory one, we can certainly do it.

Thanks,
Dan

I drive a 2007 Maxima SE. The car has been great and then out of the blue I noticed some red fluid on the garage floor. Bummer. My mechanic tells me it is the power steerng high pressure hose that also has a switch.

The local Nissan dealer is quoting $297!

Will your hose work for my car? Does it include the switch? If not that is cool because we are not sure it that is the problem, but the hose is definitely leaking.
Thanks

Haven't made one for a Maxima yet, if we had the line off of the car we could see about making one though.

No problem mate, we can make these whatever length you need. We've already done one for a RHD car so it's no bother. If you can possibly measure the distance from the back of the pump to the steering rack to be sure though, that would be great. Same price as the regular line too, if you are wondering.

We have made one for an M30 before, unfortunately, due to the stock OEM set-up we would need to have your actual line and then modify it with a new rubber portion and fittings and washers. We can't actually replicate a complete new line though. If you're willing to send us the line though we can certainly help you out. Send me an e-mail to dan@fujiispl.com

Thanks guys,
Dan
