First. Yes I am keeping the ka, am I to be critized for liking the silvia look more? Oh, I forgot I have the spec-r steering wheel to!
The valve cover isnt pink its candy red, and thats not the final valve cover. The camera distorts red slightly, the jack looks pink to, its dark *** red in person. Im still finishing up the podercoating on the one that is going in.
The car color will be a mercedes AMG black, silver metallic pearl. Extra coat of clear. We have a body shop on site.
There will be so much more going into the car.
I love that look and the pink VC....lol. In AMG black that car is going to be hot.

Yeah, I figured staying with the original color would be best.

Those manifolds...intake and exhaust will be for sale once AMS finish fabrication.
Ya, my question is... Why did you switch to a LOG style manifold? Just curious..
And, If you are selling that tube/header exhaust manifold, I assume it's T3? How much are you asking for it? I'm also curious about the intake manifold too, but mostly the exhaust.

Have to finish fabricating cold pipe. Install radiator breather tank, gonna make it an overflow bottle instead of breather. And hook up catch can.
Then fire her up! Crank the boost to 20 and fly, hopefully more then a few miles!

Post Title: Re: (onepuff) Posted by:rlvq35de at 9:40 AM 2/13/2007 i know, but i would like to start up car, drive it, get any bugs worked out, then upgrade again. only if im not happy hp wise.
the full race manifold divided runners is available to, however, i believe the AMS manifold is much nicer
Post Title: Posted by:Chris@AMS at 2:14 PM 2/13/2007
Thanks Rob.
I got when ready for you whenever you get that thing going!
EDIT: whoa, that was weird, I post here and two seconds later, I am talking to you on the phone...
Post Title: Re: (Chris@AMS) Posted by:Kaleo55 at 8:04 PM 2/13/2007
Really nice looking set-up. Very similar to to mine. I have the IAP mani and it also has some fitment issues which they refuse to recognize. Downpipe needs to be hacked and rotated in order to clear the tranny. I may also upgrade to the AMS mani later too. I hoping to get my beast fired up this week. Good luck with your sweet ride. Maybe we can hook-up we're not too far apart.

Post Title: Posted by:rlvq35de at 5:51 PM 2/14/2007

Post Title: Re: (rlvq35de) Posted by:bt2s14 at 6:39 PM 2/14/2007 Wow looks very very nice, and similar to the build that i am planning
Post Title: Posted by:rlvq35de at 8:04 PM 2/15/2007 got everything hooked up tonight, cranked her over, set fuel pressure, killed battery in a matter of seconds trying to get oil pressure. Will start her tomorrow.
Post Title: Posted by:rlvq35de at 5:55 PM 2/18/2007 ok got oil pressure, tired to start her, wouldnt start. Took dist out and moved it a tooth. Starts now, but wont stay running. I dont think I set distributor to tdc at crank, gonna check that tomorrow morning. Will make some vids soon.
Post Title: Re: (rlvq35de) Posted by:1995240sxSE at 7:01 PM 2/18/2007 set it at 20 btdc at crank the last tick and install dizzy!
Post Title: Re: (1995240sxSE) Posted by:rlvq35de at 7:26 PM 2/19/2007 so wait, I thought the you set the distributor to spark plug one with the distributor at TDC.
You are saying set the crank pulley to 20 degrees on the alignment pin at crank, then install distibutor to CYL 1?
Its driving me nuts,
First I had MAF code, thats ok now that apexi neo is plugged in!!!
I have a constant p1320 code. I have the MSD 6al ignition. After readin MSD install, I realized I never cut a wire inside of it to tell it that its a 4cyl.
But I need timing clarification on the TDC.
Post Title: Posted by:KATwo40 at 7:57 PM 2/19/2007
Set crank pulley to TDC (second mark from the left) on the compression stroke (you can remove the oil cap and peek at the cam lobes, which should be pointing outward).
Install dizzy, so that it's pointed to #1 once installed.
Check timing with light, adjust as need via FSM instructions, drive the hell out of car.
Post Title: Posted by:rlvq35de at 6:34 PM 2/20/2007
Ok, timing is perfect 20btdc. Car is sputtering and running 10.1-10.5 afr. So rich its unreal and not wanting to even rev without reving slowly..
Throwing a p1320 ignition signal primary code. Injectors must be dupming a ridiculous amount of fuel. Upon further research and talking to msd, because the distibutor and fuel timing is direclty related, they said for a 240sx i need tach adapter part number 8910-eis . Other wise injectors are getting the wrong signal. I was monitor it with my consult unit, and noticed the injector cylce and base fuel schedule were way off from each other, double the alowable amount.
So, ordered the msd tach adatper and we will see.
Next i just gotta get this greddy boost controller set up, I hate the instructions!! Revved it a few times and heard soem compressor surge.
Amazing how fast boost started to build with the GT32!

Those sideskirts are giant but I think they look great the way they match with the wide fenders IMO. They sort of blend in w/ the car.

The sti rear calipers are 2006? i think, and will be using a z32 rotor, that setup requires nothin, bolts up and e brake will be able to work.
So is the e-brake on the STI Rear Calipers a 'caliper' type? Where as the Z32 requires a drum setup..? So what I'm asking, is the STI Rear Caliper like the stock ones on an S13? Not sure about the S14's.
I've never looked at mine since I bought it. Been sitting in the lot next door. lol
Post Title: Posted by:hollywood95240 at 7:11 PM 12/4/2007

Post Title: Posted by:rlvq35de at 4:29 PM 12/15/2007 yeah, welded a piece of metal in trunk and skim coated over it since the navan spoiler has a brake light in it.

Been sitting in the lot next door. lol
I'm a late comer and need to chime in here. first of NICE A$$ car I'm lovin it.
you seam like you know what your doing and talking about but i don't know if you have researched the brembos or any thing. with the sti brembos the z32 rotors are to small you will have to use either the evo or 350 track rotors they both have the same diameter and the ebrake drum is the same. i believe (don't quote) you need to space the caliper out 3mm for proper fitment. the 240-z32 conversion lines will work with brembos

Howdy
I have a few questions:
1. Will that intake fit a 1989 ka24E and where did you get it?
2. Can I add a turbo to my stock KA, and use the stock ECU? I'm trying to start off small 4 to 8 LB of boost.
What I'm looking for is a daily driver, That I can mess with on the weekends.
Thank you Rudy

Hey,

Thank you Rudy

Post Title: Posted by:kouki180sx at 11:58 AM 4/14/2008 Sweet build. Maybe a different tire size in the front and lower in the front as well. I think it looks good other than that. Nice paint job and i LOVE the sexy front. Those headlights are still some of the best looking headlights ever designed in my opinion.
Post Title: what do you think Posted by:1991h9 at 12:16 PM 4/17/2008 Nice ride, i plan on rebuilding my ka24de and slappin on some boost, what should i upgrade on it besides the bottom end like pistons and rods?
Post Title: Posted by:s13gebala at 3:15 PM 5/3/2008 that cars sick, i dont usually like s14's, but you made that once really nice!

LOL that is the exact color I was thinking about painting my 97. I guess I will go back to the drawing board because I can't have a car that is sexier than mine in the same custom color!
Looks super clean!
