I might have to get into the time attack too, Patriot course was alot of fun last time I raced on it, but this time i would have the hoosiers.
I would still get owned probably though, I can see it now, 500+ horsepower 350's and swapped 240's against my 130 (maybe) Whp S13. lol

Whether or not I do Tarzans Lap battle is dependent on my job status in the coming weeks.
And for those of you who havent been there, It is a really awesome track, lots of places to watch, and a ton of room to walk around and check out vendors and other cars. Pretty good food too, although expensive.
There is not much to do outside of the track though, Danville is a pretty boring area.

I need to get my hands on a NICO T-shirt, so I can be picked out of the crowd.

Grand-Am Cup will run two six-hour enduros, one for the Grand Sports (GS) class (bigger cars such as 350Z (won here in April), Mustang GT, Pontiac GTO, Porsche 911, BMW M3) and one for the Street Tuner (ST) class (smaller cars such as Chevy Cobalt, Acura RSX-S and TSX, Mazda RX-8, BMW 330, BMW Z4 and Mini). The USERA (United States Endurance Racing Association) will run two three-hour races. All these races, plus practice and qualifying, will be on the 3.27-mile full course. There will also be pro time attack and GT Sim Race (fans get to ride in race cars on hot laps) on the full course. Amateur drifting and amateur Time Attack ("Tarzan's Lap Battle") will take place simultaneously on the 1.1-mile Patriot Course. Plus there will be rallycross on our gravel rally stages (drive your own car), kart racing on our state-of-the-art 5/8-mile paved karting circuit (drive our racing karts), Spoon Sports Festival, NICOfest, stunt bikes, car show, bike show, vendors, music and girls. Other than that, there's nothing going on...

Well the weather in October should be pretty nice temperature wise but you never know about rain.
I want to run in the tarzan lap battle, but Im not sure if theyll let me run with my floor-mounted 5 point harness and no roll cage, they let me before, but im not sure. I know its not the safest thing in the world, but I feel that my chances of rolling are remote.

Sky - You can buy tickets online right now, for $40 for the weekend, that will save you $10 off the price at the gate, this is what I will be doing, because I know I'm definately going.
I say we get a NICO kart race with a grid standing start at some point during the weekend, their kart track is mega-cheap usually, $30 per half-hour!!! For those of you who go to kart tracks, you know what a great deal that is.
There is just so much to do that I cant even wrap my head around it, I could be entertained for a full week!

Someone bring a grille and a cooler!!!
Also, we STILL need to get the word out on this event to some more people. If you guys can link this thread ANYWHERE you think people in the area will see it, that'd be great.
Aw, man - I can't WAIT for this!!!
Also, you guys know the G35 Rolex Cup car will be there, right? AND Brian Sellars, the driver!!!

A camping pass is $50 for the weekend for tents and pop-ups. For campers and motorhomes, it's $100. You must have a multi-day ticket to purchase a camping pass. They can be purchased at the track upon arrival.
The Plantation Valley Kart Track does have helmets, as noted above. Some of them ARE full-face helmets. If you have a helmet, bring it.
I'll be checking in here occasionally to see if there are more questions.
Looking forward to the GT LIVE weekend! It's going to be great.
BTW, the G35 GT car has tested here during development. You guys are going to be knocked out!
See you soon!

Read the fine print. It's $65 *on top* of your ticket costs.
I'm only going to be at the event for all of Friday and Saturday, and IMO, one day's worth of food isn't $65. No thanks. If your'e going to be there all of Saturday and all of Sunday then maybe it's worth your while.

Bah! Turns out that I am told we are staying for some of Sunday also, so someone in our group already got us all VIP tickets.
I don't know if you know how to deal with this, but the guy that got us the VIP passes also bought us the $40 tickets as well without telling me. It's probably already at my house. What should I do? I think it's too late for him to call and cancel (he did it last weekend I think). Maybe I can sell my ticket to people coming to the gate? haha.

| The food is definitely worth it if you'll be there all weekend, especially when VIR charges like $6 for a dog and a soda. Bleh. VA, looking forward to it! |
$6 for a dog and soda is cheap compared to NOPI. What was it, $8 for a freakin' sausage?

Anyway, I will be leaving from school on friday at about 9 a.m which puts me in Danville at about noon.
I also said in the other thread about gt live, that I have some tent space for maybe 2 more people, let me know here, or by email if you need somewhere to sleep, but I ONLY have room for 2 <maybe> 3.
