Hope to see you at the Pleasanton meet on the 23rd |
I am gonna try to be there (I am very sure I can, but don't want to say "Absolutely" and have something come up!)
Usually weekend meets are not something I can attend easily - family time prevails - but, my wife and son are away visiting grandparents for a few weeks, so I am available that day!

Hello folks, recently leased a 2006 M45 (Dec 20th) and am very happy. Came out of a decked out 2002 GS430 and almost obtained a new one but the power and performance of the M45 won me over. Not to mention some of the added technology bonuses.
Mine is Diamond Graphite with the Journey, Tech, and Aero kit.
Already found some links for some performance mods that I would like to do. Although having a hard time finding exhaust upgrades.
Anyway, take care and talk to you soon.

I test drove a Mecredes C32 AMG, BMW M3, Infiniti G35, Lexus GS430 and the INfiniti M45 when I decided to buy myself a "first real job" present after grad school.
Both the C32 and M3 were faster and more responsive than the M45, but neither had the interior room I was looking for (just had my first daughter and needed car seat room). The GS430 felt like an old man car and was geared more for fuel economy than performance. Then I drove the M45 and WOW. What a great combination of performance, size, styling and features.
I have never thought about another car since.
I have had many a youngster (I am only 32 myself) in their souped up (which means a big tailpipe and a cold air intake) VW's, CHevy's, Mitsibishi's and others get dusted by just a portion of the 340 hp in this car.
I even had a guy in an Audi TT try to race me on the highway and I never looked back after beating him.
My only complaint for the car is that it doesn't like synthetic oil (tried different weights and brands). Each time it would use about 1 qt for 1500 miles. So I switched back to conventional 5w-30 oil and it barely uses any now.
I live in a town of 6000 and none of the people in the town have ever seen an M45 before. In fact, I have not seen another 2003-2004 M45 on the road since I bought mine.
I love this Car!
Nathan

I prefer synthetic, but if the dino 5W-30 is working well for you, excellent!
(I would recommend a oil and filter change interval of 3750 miles maximum, and you will be perfectly fine). It is far more important to be regular about the change than to worry about the type of oil!

Information overload, love the site!
New Infiniti owner! I bought myself a 2006 M45, fully loaded except the rear DVD/power heated rear seat luxury package...way over priced. Loving the car...2 days later! Just getting started...gonna take awhile to fully assimilate myself into the system...have a lot to learn!
One of the first modifications will be the enabling the DVD playback while driving...I don't think putting the parking brake partially down as the dealer suggested is the best option. Freeman's Car Stereo offered to bypass for $100...hmmm...I am not a handy DIY guy, so I don't have much of a choice.
My other vehicle would have been a QX56, but the financing didn't work out this time around, so I am still driving an 07 Chrysler Aspen Limited.
Looking forward to participating...take care all!

My family just got an 06' M35x loaded with the premium package 34K miles for $27,500 + tax and title. I think we got a pretty good deal.
I only have four gripes with the vehicle:
1. Transmission should have more speeds.
2. The doors should lock automatically when the driver reaches a certain speed or the vehicle is put into drive.
3. No touch screen (this seems to be added in 08 model).
4. No rain sensing wipers (this also seems to be added in the 08 model).
Overall though, I am very happy with our decision after we ruled out its common competitors.
I'll be checking in frequently and will post pictures in the picture thread soon.

For normal driving conditions around town, I find that not having too many high gears prevents "hunting" as the car goes in and out of the top gears when you stop and go. On highways, it can impeove mileage, of course.

This is one that I actually like having this way. I'd rather do the door lock (and some other things like auto-dim mirrors) myself rather than have the car try to read my mind - it never picks the right time or condition as far as I am concerned.
But, I can see why people want it.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to sharing many great things here! Talk to u again soon.

I just purchased my first Infiniti M35sport......all i have to say is Wow. I'm glad I found this site. So far ir has helped me tremendously. For example my auto came with no owners manual (the dealership ordered one for me 10-12 days). So I downloaded the one from the site! This car is very high tech!
2. I am the 2nd owner of the car who moved here to Texas and purchased a Lincoln MKS (what is/was he thinking?) and Lucky Me. It had no front license plate braket, and i couldn't see myself drilling a hole in a beautiful facia. I ordered the stillen license bracket which I found while browsing the site!
I will post some photos maybe this weekend. South Texas is expecting a buncha rain from Hurricane Ike! So it'll probably be next week!

Heres a pic of the car I drive now. http://www.clublexus.com/galle...46206
When I started shopping it was between a 3gs, a 5 series, or the M. After doing more research on the M I was hooked. IMO its the perfect combo of sexy and sporty, and all the features are an awesome bonus. Most of all, Ive just always been a fan of infiniti so I think its time I own one and see what its like.
Im currently shopping for a 2006 m45 sport in either black or silver with bourbon interior, tech, journey, and aero. I havent found one yet. I think they are pretty hard to find but Im going to be patient because I plan on keeping this car for a while so I want to make sure Im 100% satisfied with what I purchase.
I cant lie, Ive got the mod bug pretty bad too so this car is getting hooked up.
Im thinking coils, exhaust, intake, some new shoes of course, tint, ect, ect. Im sure Ill see cars on here that inspire me to do more so we'll see. Im so excited!
If anyone finds a good deal on an M with these options, please let me know!
Thanks everyone! Im glad to be a member here.

I'm new to this site and have just purchased a 2006 M35 Sport w\ 35K miles. Light Platinum with Wheat interior. Bought the car for my wife and will be the family car. The car is like new and even smells new inside.
I have a 2002 Maxima we bought new and has been the best car I ever owned. I don't expect anything less from this one.
I have a couple of questions. The car did not come with an owners manual and the only one I could find online was a 2007 or 2008. Anyone have a link to a 2006 manual?
I'm also interested in purchasing an extended warranty. Would appreciate any info as to where to purchase the Infiniti Extended warranty at a reasonable price.

Owner's Manuals can be found at http://www.infiniti-techinfo.com ... all model years are PDF's there for free (the Service Manuals are here at our site - link is in my sig).
I would strongly recommend getting the Infiniti Extended Warranty at an Infiniti dealer. Contact http://www.everythinginfiniti.com (they are an Infiniti dealer in Arizona) for help - ask for Joe Tsensky.

Just wondering, why the switch from Beemer to Infiniti?
I was seriously looking at the Lexus LS430 when I found all the info on the M. I have had great success with the Nissan products and after reading all the posts and reviews decided to go with the M35.
It's a GREAT car and I look forward to many years of driving pleasure.

I purchased my first car ever (have always been a truck kind of guy) about a month ago, and it is a 2004 Desert Platinum M45. Talk about an eye opening experience! I love everything about it so far; power, performance, handling, etc.
I have been reading through the posts for the last few weeks, and decided to take the plunge and post (first car and first forum!). I have been very impressed with the knowledge and friendliness, enthusiasm and willingness to share and help!
I am a little overwhelmed as there are so many things to learn about my car, but very glad I was able to find a place like this to learn them at. I look forward to reading more, and getting to know you all. I also look forward to "playing" with my new toy; all I have done so far is re-tint the windows a more suitable shade (limo on the back three and one lighter on the front two) as the sun is always shining here in AZ.
Any suggestions on where I should start?

After reading many posts on replacement tires, I decided to try Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires which are replacing the Goodyear GSD-D3's. I'll keep everyone informed on my impressions of this tire.
I'm now looking at doing the DVD/Nav hack which has been mentioned many times. It's so frustrating having to stop the car to put in a new destination. If I had a stand alone unit, I wouldn't have to stop. Of course I would have my front seat passenger do the programming for the new destination.
Has anyone looked at upgrading the braking system to the AP racing system available from Stillen? Just wondering if it's worth all that $$$.

I just picked up a 2006 Ivory Pearl (wheat and wood) with some higher miles, and the car still smells new inside. I have heard this from others whom had recently bought preowned M's. I guess these cars hold their leather smell longer than normal (unless the previous driver was a heavy smoker, etc.).
Mine also came without the Owner's Manual. I bought from an auctioneer and got a great deal. I downloaded one online. (I loved these M's so I finally got one. But I still have not fully established what exact package I have with what options. Exploring now. The auctioneer just made the sale - he was no Infiniti expert.)
I purchased an extended warranty referred from the selling source. I got this heavily discounted. Seems I might better look into the Infiniti extended warranty given the mods here actually encourage this directly.

Welcome to NICO!
You can download the PDF of the Owners Manual at http://www.infiniti-techinfo.com. Service Manuals are at NICO ... see my sig for where (first post I posted on this page has the links).
Yes, we encourage the Infiniti extended warranty because of the high cost of repairs to electronics (if the occur) ... for any modern cars really! If you plan to keep the car past the warranty period, of course.

New (to me) '07 M45 Sport owner here. Picked up last weekend - it's like new, still smells new. The previous owner babied the car, which I'll continue to do. All the service records stamped in the book, not a tarnish or stain. A few teency minor paint chips down on the front air dam, but all just a couple of mm in diameter, I'll be fixing those shortly.
LOVE my new ride! I found that magical great deal, that keeps up with all the Euro sport sedans, if not kicks 'em in the arse.
I'm glad this forum exists, I found lots of good info before I bought, and since on these forums. Nice to have a community with a keenly shared interest.

New 2008 M35 owner here. Just joining the site and looking for new ideas and information about the ride. Switched from a MB CLK to the M; also driving an 09 FX35. Looking forward to exchanging ideas with you all..

Hope you enjoy the car like we all do.
FYI, the V8 has same gas mileage city and 1-2 mpg less on the highway when compared with the V6. So, you definitely made the right choice.

It does not look like this site allows you to upload pictures from your own hard drive. Do you have to have your own websites in facebook or something like that?
