Well i go to japan just about every year (twice last year) and this time if i have time i would like to see what i can find for my 96 240sx SE.

i know some things will fit and some things wont from their silvia's.

what can i grab from an s14 overseas from a wrecked one or what can i grab from a dealer like silvia emblems or anything else (if i find a dealer)...

i think i read that the headlights are glass right...does the front bumper fit easy with no mods?i know folding side mirrors...

anything else?

Not that can bring a lot back and i would have to ship the bumper (so not sure if it's cost effective)...

Thanks,

I can probably fit that in my carry-on...

I have a $500-700 limit on what I get. I'm already spending enough on the trip.

If I were you I wouldn't focus on my car but parts that you can buy for really cheap that sells for 3-4x as much here in the states.Invest $600 and make atleast $2,000. Or don't listen and splurge on yourself.

If you had $2,000 to spend on your car what would you like to have?Hmmm, maybe even a swap/ricer kit if your that type/turbo/ect.....

To sell I can probably try to get some silvia emblems from the dealer though I'm not sure what other things are of high interest that won't be so heavy to ship or small enough to just buy a suitcase, fill it, and check it in.

For me, maybe a jdm silvia body kit (front bumper and sideskirts, rear valance) if it fits without mods, or a damper kit if its cheaper there. Or some little things like clear side markers.

I just finished my z32 conversion on front and rear so looking for my next step.

Don't carry on parts like brakes. Ship them home, customs is a b**** when you don't declare somthing and you get a random search (I know personally, the fines suck)

Just visit UP garage or Autobacs and grab some stuff. It'll be fun.

Actually the car was parked for a good two months behind burlington cuz the rear pads were shot... Now its been a almost two weeks since I did the z32 swap on all 4s. Its my daily driver now so I don't park it back there anymore.

Do you live in hoboken?

ON TOPICIf anyone has any other ideas on what I could bring back, feel free to add.

I seem to have a good idea already from the first few responses but just in case I forgot something. Thanks.

Not a bad idea. Sucks cause the yen is now stronger than the dollar. Last year it was close to $1 for 1. But now its .89 yen for a dollar. It better not get as bold as the euro.

the average height of japanese women is 5'1". asses aren't common. you'd be better off with a korean or filipino broad.

Yea I'm talking to you... I've seen/had j-girls with asses. Yes hard to find but not too rare especially when you are in japan...

I want a jdm girlfriend too but customs charges import taxes on anything too exotic..

I had an Asian girl with an a**, but she was Chinese and super hot...prolly the hottest chick Ive ever been with...but she was crazy...yes, Asian girls have daddy issues as well

as far as parts goes, I need several things...first off, how long are you gonna be there?

I dont know how available the parts are gonna be, even there though...

I need a set of Junction Produce headlight eyebrows for a Y32 Gloria, the baller Junction Produce hood ornament (Ill find a pic), a Garson side table (not the dash table, my Y32 had airbags and I cannot utilize teh dash table...which is most unfortunate), VIPCar and VIPStyle magazines, and a very obscure part for my S13 (I need the passengers side Oh-s*** handle) I believe they call it a courtesy handle...USDM cars didnt have the same ones...none of this stuff is big at all

...and sany little JDM trinkets (air fresheners, candy, blah blah blah and anything from Autobacs)

sounds like a lot but its not...I will compensate you if you could pull this off for me..

I looked at autobacs and they ask that you have all the vehicle info like year, make, model, motor, displacement...

I'll be there a total of 8 days but the thing is that I'll arrive on saturday and I'll be busy that day (arrive at 2:30pm thenwiat for luggage, about an hour and 20 min train ride to my friend's place, halloween party then club scene). sunday I will be free so if they are open I can inquire and take pics. Then the next weekend (saturday) I can pick the parts up.

I wanna try to get to a junk yard for some parts for me... Just have to find some... And the japanese air freshener is a cool idea.

is your s14 a base model? when i was over there i was trying to source some 5 lug hubs/brakes/vlsd's/etc. etc. pretty much anything that came up as a good deal...i have some family there so they could probably have held some bigger/complicated parts for me to get shipped out but i didn't wanna make their peaceful little house w/ no backyard into a junkyard lol

honestly, i didn't find too much there as the junkyards were semi-cleaned out =/ I don't think i bought one thing for my car over there but i wanted to spend the majority of my time there actually chilling out and checking the place out. Especially for a s14, you can find a lot of JDM parts like silvia aero/sr20's/wheels/etc etc over here stateside so I wouldn't waste too much time with it. I mean, I can walk to my local nissan dealership and buy brand new silvia bumpers, emblems, window visors, sr20 parts, headlights, you name it.. I would just get cool little JDM accessories and what not that you would never find over here

I thought it would be difficult to find things... I have 5lugs already.

Also, for the other dude... For the Y32, if you have pics of the things you need, it would be helpful.
