i was wondering if it would be possible to directly bolt on the front end of the r32 gtr to a 240 hatch. would i need the rad support or not. just wondering if anyone has looked deeper into this. i think it would be a neat look something different.

I had a buddy that did this. It honestly looked like poop. At first sight very nice, He did solve the issue with the height and width difference in the 2 chassis and there was a 1-2 inch gap where the door and front fenders met. He used the stock rad support, I think. I really have no contact with him as I knew him when I was stationed in Wa state, and now I am back in NC. It is possible!

First off it would look horrible on a fastback and secondly to answer you question its definitely not direct bolt on! Quite a bit of fab work to make it work... If you want a conversion why not S15 they look decently good on fastbacks?

please please dont do it like it has been said already it LOOKS LIKE POOP ON FASTBACKS if your looking to do something different then the stock front end i would stick to silvia or s15 front ends and stay far very far away from the r32 front end.

Get the idea? When will you kids just give up allready, leave the damn car alone, if you dont like the way it looks, BUY SOMETHING ELSE. Dont sully the name of skyline by trying to make your 240SX into one.

If done carefully it doesn't look that bad. There are a few nice ones out there, and google will be your friend.

So back onto what those above me have stated, searching will help you greatly.

i think cars should stick to conversions that are relevant to the car. for example, S15 or S14 on and S13. S13 silvia on S13 240. S15 on S14. S14B on S14A. etc. check out that other new-ish thread - a ricer put a '97 accord front end on it ! one of the worst i've seen is a Z32 front end on a hatch. holy crap, it's horrible. it just doesn't fit right at all.

I disagree, one of the only conversions I agree with is the S13 silvia front end, you can put that on any US spec 240SX and it will look good. All others are just atrocities.

Wow, I'll have to look for the z32 front on a s13.... That sounds scary. I still think a lot of the more nasty conversions would actually look good provided the person doing it could take the time and effort to do it right, instead of just trying to get it done. Unfortunately it seems most people just work to get it done to be "different" and call it a day.

From certain angles you can hide the mismatch of lines and poor shape of the car. Lets see it from a few other angles, I bet its an abomination.

Everything I've read says it doesn't match up, but won't require a ton of fab work. You have to decide if it looks good

Neither of those are GTR front ends, they are both base model, but I bet both owners preach their car as having a GTR front end.

I agree, Im just pointing out the fact that these kids claim to have GTR front ends, when in reality they couldnt drop the extra bank for the real thing.

And why the picture of the honda?

if an S13 hatch could be mentally challenged, it would look like those two with the R32 front ends. seriously. it looks absolutely horrible. worse than i thought it would lol

probably because i mentioned an awful S14 with that car's front end.

Even if it's done cleanly it still doesn't match up. The front is too long for the 240.

i know someone who took a r32 half cut and put it on the rear end of a silvia s13. its not just an RB is an S13. major fabrication to make alignment right. has RB26DETT, AWD, but with wide body s13 fenders and front body work of the s13. he said its gonna be a trailer queen ... can't wait for it to be done. the last time i talked to him was at the WREVOLUTION in HBG,PA. then he told me its almost a fully Tomei Rebuilt Engine. if i can get some pics up i will. the pics are from like jan.-feb. 08.
