How and why did you get the new transmission, and how much do you want for it?Q45denver wrote:Almost positive the '96 transmission is the same as the '95 and that you could put the detuned '96 engine in your car but not sure why you would want to.
BTW, I have a new NOS '96 G50 transmission w/TC (not rebuilt) if anyone needs one. It's been sitting untouched in my garage for the past ten years.

Really the 96 is like freee!!! i dont have to pay for it.. i put in some work for it.. So its free.. So im gonna use it.. I dont know anyone with a 95 engine In good condition and trusted low milage. And if i did, they wont do even swap! ANd like i said i asked how much to rebuil, my mech doesnt rebild em. SOmething about he needs a machine shop.. Anyways. he said he used to know some ppl, but they charge like 4500 for that.. ANd im thinking, oreilly charges the same thing. So....And it cost 2k, to take mine out and put another in. We havent even started talking about injectors yet!!!! I could easily buy one from jdm or something but then id be left with an engine that i wont get much money for. I tried selling it before and everyone tried to talk to too far down. So with that in mind once again thats why. I didnt know putting a 96 in there would be bringing my car down.. I thought since its a 96 it should be better. i dont wanna have to go buy a 96 Q so i can use that engine...Q45denver wrote:Almost positive the '96 transmission is the same as the '95 and that you could put the detuned '96 engine in your car but not sure why you would want to.

Why not buy another car or look at junkyard engines?Romeo5k wrote: Really the 96 is like freee!!! i dont have to pay for it.. i put in some work for it.. So its free.. So im gonna use it..
