So I got a letter today in the mail stating that I have a warrant out for my arrest from the City of Clinton, Utah. Here's the kicker, it says the warrant was issued in 2002!

I have 40 days to turn myself in

I didn't live in Utah in 2001-2008 but I did in 97-2000 and in 08/09.

Sucks to be me.

so you have a warrant issued from when you didn't even live there.... there is either a big mistake.... or you f***ed up big time... which is it?

The "criminal act" and the warrant don't have to have the same date. You could have allegedly committed a crime and not had a warrant issued until much later. What details are included with the letter, offense, date, etc?

Sorry for no details, had a busy weekend of autocrossing.

I don't have any details other than what I gave in the OP. I gotta call in the morning in find out. I hope it's a mistake but, knowing my luck it's not.

So it looks like a Minor in possesion of Alcohol ticket from 2001 is going to cost me $994 or a court date.

I'm 28, I think I will be the oldest person to appear in court for a MIP ticket ever.

sigh.
