Post

Whats up NICO I'm finally getting around to posting this project on here, just so everyone knows I am not doing this myself. I reserched everything bought all the parts and gave the shop everything. I did do some things but I wanted the motor done fast and right, I spent alot on this and I didn't want it sitting around or getting screwd up.

But that aside I'll kick this off and hope everyone likes it, please leave me feedback.

This is my 1993 240sx Vert

The old KA24DE (will put in classifieds later, does have a 5 speed transmission)

Out with the old and in with the RBThis RB26DETT is from R32 purchased from JDMofMiamiWill be using Syko Performance Mounting kit

Stock Turbos

I did put the Tein Super Drift Coilovers on and ran into a convertible issue that some of you may already know. The re-enforcment for the vert sits right over the rear coilover dampener adjustment and will actually hit the adjuster.

The solution??? DREMEL!!!!

I also installed the Circuit Sports Coolant tank, but I had an issue with mine. IT LEAKS!! but it can be fixed or replaced, it leaks alot from the cooland level tube. It also didn't bolt right in it had to be bent to fit right. The bottom bracket I just broke off (purposely), the bracket has to be broken or taken off to fit. then I screwd on one of the bolts lightly and bent it until the other lined up.Really its easy to just wing it and bend to fit.

Next I put a triple gauge pod in place of the center vent, it is aluminum so it bends easily. Unlike the coolant tank I did not bend this. Heres what I did, because the pod is longer than the vent slot, just by a very little bit, I cut the left side and right side inner ledge so I could just lock it in on both sides. If this is confusing I can take more pics and explane more indepth just messege the post or email me.

Thats all I have for self installs but here are some pics of the other parts that are going on, I'll also post a list of parts or you can look in my profile.Kaaz 1.5 LSD is in the big brown box next to the Apexi intake kit.

DriveShaftShop Drive Shaft

Spec Stage 2 Clutch Kit (RB25)

HKS Blow Off Valve (real not a fakey)

Mishimoto Intercooler

Z32 30MM Aluminum Front Calipers with OE Brembo Rotors

NUR Spec Cover Plate

It will be going on Carbon Fiber Covers, I'll post the pics of them when they get in.

Apexi GTR Intake system with stock GTR MAF's

Sorry I dont have it out but I dont want it getting messed up, Blitz Nur spec exhaust.

Autometer ES (glows red with black background) electirc fullsweep boost, oil temp, and water temp and a electric short sweep oil pressureAnd a electric HVAC controller from a JDM S13

GTS-T Crossmember (new) RB25 engine mounts (new) purchased right from Syko Performance.Syko Performance RB26DETT into S13 Mounts.Apexi Downpipe (has to be modified)

Thats all for now I'll reply to the post once I get more done on it.

If anyone needs help locating parts I can help, I have alot of connections from having to find all the rare parts. So just let me know if you need help finding anything, even the GTR resistor pack. Thanks for looking

Here we go Nico THEY ARE HERE!!!!!!!

RB26DETT Carbon Fiber Timing and Coil Covers (non-Kansei)

Hope I'm the first in the US with these so I can get some sick coverage on my project. (aiming for a magazine in the next year or so)Please let me know what you think? Always up for some good ideas and what not.

Sick right?! I'll post more pics of them when I get them on, not until the motor is in so I dont mess them up. I'll let you know how they fit and if anything has to be modified but they look like they'll go on fine.

Kansei

Didn't source these, though. They were on my car when I bought it.

I like your coil cover more, though. I wish I had the metal badge strip.

Yeah I was going to go with Kansei first but I wanted the GTR center garnish I think it looks so clean. But that looks wicked nice, I like those . These I had to source from AU and had email and wire transmission, they were the only ones I could find out there next to paying a crap load to have them custom made.

oil cap is not r33 style, IAT sensor is not colored, and clutch fan is not r33 style. I can't see the p/s pump but the r33 pump is non hicas as opposed to r32's having hicas. So if you do have a hicas p/s pump that came with the motor, then its most likely not a r33.

oh and also by the fuel rail (closest to radiator), there should be a light-grey female plug that plugs to the knock sensor harness. Also, if you haven't checked yet, the crank snout surface should be wider.

^ Matt has a r33 rb26. Here is another pic of a r33 and notice the differences.http://img230.imageshack.us/i/274011mgsf3.jpg/

Remember, I could be be wrong but just saying yours looks r32.

No, Nissan fixed the crank snout issue on late r32 engines so you might have that version. Also, think of the thousands of other early r32 rb26's that are running fine today. If you are doing alot of high rpm racing, then it might be best to.

I remember seeing a few threads on that subject before but I never really dove into it. Search nico or google and you'll find some info on that. As far as paint, it looks same as r32. My r33 rb26 intake manifold had black chipping like most r32,r33 rb26's

Those carbon fiber bits are beautiful!!!

I can't think of a better powerplant for a 240 convertible. I can't wait to see this project develop!

I agree with noodl35... I wouldn't stress too much about the crank collar unless you are planning to run high hp.. which you probably won't be able to harness anyhow on a light S13.

If you need parts/help... keep in mind that Coolwhip is the guy to see. Ricky will take good care of you!

Please do continue to take and share lots of pics and updates on your progress. The 'vert forum has some of the best documented builds in the world.. we need to keep that going!

Dropped all the parts off at the shop today except for the footwork (lug conversion, brakes so on)

Also got my wheels today thanks NickGTS-T Skyline wheels 16x6.5 these will be a nice addition, wouldeventually like a set of R32 GTR wheels forged 16x8 but these are a nice substitution. Last set I eventually want are either sparco driftwheels of I'd love a set of the TE-37 volk track wheels Black and red.

I wanna thank everyone for the positive comments and hope everyone is excited to see this finished. Any ideas or suggestions I'm always open to good ideas. I am doing a GTR 240sx thing (R32 GTR steering wheel, R32 wheels right now GTS-T wheels but I want R32 GTR wheels and so on) but also teetering between a S14 Kouki Front with a R33 style bumper, but may go with a R32 GTR front, 80% want the S14 20% want the R32.

I just think people shouldn't put on front ends of different cars UNLESS, they are very similar like the S13 to a R32, S14 to R33, etc.The only one I like thats from a different car is the Odyvia. But I'm not stopping you bro, go for it!
