Yep. I got sucked into the beauty of it. A buddy of mine more experienced with the 240's performance (aka Mr. 700+HP guy) tried to tell me all those years ago. But NOOOoooo, I wouldn't listen. Hahahaha, hell in reality, I can't even stand the huge gaping hole between the front of the engine and the radiator by removing the shroud/fan assembly in the first place.mrgreeneyes wrote:much better
people are foolish to spend the money on complex e-fans/controllers/relays.
i plan on clutch-fanning my SR once it goes in. simple, reliable, easy
Hahaha, love it! I think that's how "hot rodding" first came about!Hoffman5982 wrote:I removed the clutch fan because I was bored
Fantastic idea. Now no one will be able to call you a hot head!OM3GA wrote:As a matter of fact i love them so much i think im going to get a tattoo of a clutch fan on my forehead.

i just dont like how clutch fans make your car sound like an airplane taking off.... and they rob power.... but to each his own.OM3GA wrote:Clutch fans for life, they are proven to be better.
Fail safe design
As a matter of fact i love them so much i think im going to get a tattoo of a clutch fan on my forehead.
The Flex-a-Lite dual fans were actually louder when they kicked on. And as for robbing power? Well that would be negligible ... at least on my car.TheRealNap0le0n wrote:i just dont like how clutch fans make your car sound like an airplane taking off.... and they rob power.... but to each his own.
lol well it could be argued that the extra drag from the electric fans through the alternator blah blah blag....scotty-2-forty wrote:

I'm a little confused. Is it me, or did you just contradict yourself? LOL! All in good humor my friend.TheRealNap0le0n wrote:im shakey on e fans cuz my camaro with a 4 row radiator would run hot in traffic with the advanced auto 1300cfm fans... two of em...
so im more inclined to get something more proven to work... right now i have no shroud and just the condensor fan and it works so i ono
... Anyway, maybe a flex fan is an alternative for you? Not the electric; the clutch fan replacement variety. I've had them in few other cars from my past. Should help soothe the ears.TheRealNap0le0n wrote:wiseguy.... i meant to say i hate the way stock clutch fans make your car sound like an airplane taking off, but efans im very particular what i get because of my previous experience.
im not knocking the cooling capacity of clutch fans
I think it's safe to say that nothing is 'fail safe'. What I did not want to do is install a cheaply made electric fan again. So I'm opting back to the original design of the clutch fan/electric cooling fan assembly that has been proven to cool effectively in a few friends 240's, two of which are running much higher HP and temps and are driven hard. So far so good with the clutch fan. Funny how it's the OEM electric cooling fan that is giving me trouble now!Wc240 wrote:clutch fans aremt fail safe. they go out just like everything and youll over heat just like when your e fans go out. mine whent out and and it was cheaper to use e-fans
lol ill prolly be sourcing some altima fans or something to that matter.... the FC guys are always getting ford tauras and crownvic e-fans or something like that.... i know from my experience as a technician that ford fans move tons of air... but they need heavy gauge wiring and relays...scotty-2-forty wrote:
