hi i drive a 03 g35 coupe and my steering is really messed up . i think its the steering column but i could be wrong. when ever i turn the wheel it will not straighten its self out it will just stay in the spot that i turned the wheel to and if it doesn't do that then it will keep turning its self to the direction i am turning. my alignment is also bad my will sits diagonal instead of being right right to left. i hope you understand what i mean there i dont know any other way to explain that. someone said this could all be just from that but i dont think it is. can anyone help me out with what may be wrong? i really appreciate anyone help.. thanks

Welcome to NICO! It would be helpful to tell us some history on the car... has it ever been wrecked or curbed hard? Does it have aftermarket suspension modifications? Factory wheels and tire size? How did the problem start... gradually, or all at once?

how it happened is being the retard i am i was drifting and i slid into a pole and it hit right on my front right rim. it didnt hit it to hard because it was a slick floor so the car would slide with little gas. but it happened all at once. this was something easy that i have done before with no problem. anyways the car sits on 20" tsw's and it is lowered with lowering springs not cut stock springs. my steering column has needed to be replaced before and same effects are happening now as they did then.

It doesn't take much to bend the aluminum suspension components on the G. I would get the car up on a lift and have someone familiar with the G give you an idea of what's bent...

okay thanks ill do that and see what they say. but also another thing i forgot to mention was when i hit around 80 the steering wheel will start to shake a little bit its not a very violent shake just you can feel it in the wheel. do you know if this is expensive to fix? thanks.

I'm sure it's all related... could be a bent wheel as well. Suspension/Frame issues are really hard to diagnose over the internet since every one is different.

in may experience if the fender and hood lines dont match ofr fender and door dont match, then you hit it hard enough to bend the frame. you will need to have the frame pulled by a reputable body shop. If the body lines match tnen you probably bent only suspension parts which can add up to $$$. if you lowered your veh without putting a camber kit, then you dont care about tire wear anyway. also when frt suspension had an impact the mounting cone in the knuckle usually makes the hole bigger and the nut gets loose. be sure to check for play in the lower ball joint/knuckle
