Very cool!!! Thanks for sharing...! I read through this new thread as well as the original thread you referenced and could not find where you identified where you purchased the LED mirrors from (or I missed it)insomnia816 wrote:As referring to my previous post which can be found at: Rogue side mirror covers with built-in LED turn signals
I received my box today and would like to share with you guys.
I found a video clip on Youtube which demonstrate the steps needed in order to access to the side mirror's part. Although it shows inserting led arrow inside the mirror. But steps are much the same. (removing door panel, steps etc) Noticed this only shows the driver's side, passanger's side requires you to remove the glove box compartment in order to wire through the driver's sidePescakl1 wrote:Thanks for all, it is great.Like the others, I am interested in them.Do you plan to install them yourself or make them installed?
While waiting for a link or more information to order them, could you scan the installation instructions in order to see what have to be done to install them (what to remove, where to plug them to, etc..?)?
Thanks.
I apologize if I have break the forum's rule as I understand the importance of collecting personal information is against the rules. I know, too that it is also not right to sell anything here. But I am not here to earn money but just trying to help other members in a way. Shall I edit my previous post to clearify the action?philipa_240sx wrote:Pescakl1, I just have some serious reservations about this. I for one would not send my personal information to someone I do not know. And I do not like the fact this is being offered for sale here and I wish to protect and inform our members.
I will see what the NICO admins think. I will not remove the post or do anything for now.
The wire run though the outter edge of the cover unless you drill a hole into the mirror casing. The wiring will still requires you to remove the door panel and steps in order to gain access to the signal wires.rjchoops wrote:I just saw these LEDs turn signal mirror strips on ebay. Not nearly as nice as the led covers but an option. Just wonder how you would hide the wires for the LEDs on these stick ons.

I said I was interested in more information, not necessarily that I wanted to order one for sure.insomnia816 wrote:This is the list I got so far:

I would not stand getting leds without playing with them first, that means I will have to open it and find what leds they use.
But I don't want to do that on US$140 pieces, so I decided I will go with the stick on leds I found on Ebay (thanks to rjchoops for the original idea).
At about $10 for the pieces, I will not be afraid to play with them, even if I end up breaking them (should be plastic welded, so it should be a pain to open).
As for the leds behind/in the mirror, if I do that too, I will probably do my own too.
In conclusion, I will go the DIY route... as always .
Thanks for the offer anyway.
Good call Leo! I was going to post more photos about the motors parts. Although I can not confirm at this stage about the wires, but there's a relay that control the action of folding/unfolding whenever you lock/unlock the car. This way you don't have to manually switch on and off all the time.Leo2005 wrote:What happened to other stuff like motors? Also I'm wondering if the switch could be rewired so mirrors would fold everytime I shut off/start the engine?
Thanks Philipa for the advice, I am refering to the "DOOR FINISHER" under "ON-VEHICLE REPAIR" section right nowphilipa_240sx wrote:Word of advice: DO NOT remove the center 'panel' you see in some of the later pics if you can avoid it. This panel holds the window glass, track and power window electrics in place. If you remove it, a few things may happen:
1) You will mess up the alignment of the power window tracks making the window difficult or impossible to close completely.2) You risk shattering the window glass.3) You will not be able to completely remove the panel anyway as there several steps involved.
See if you can access the wiring by removing the speaker instead.
Look at the Official Rogue FAQ for links to the service manuals. This will give a better explanation on how to remove the panel. Hint: it's under the Facts and Information section.
